It’s dread and it feels like a job. But most movies are average so it’s not so bad. The tiring part is going back and forth to the movies, writing a review , recording the review. Editing your review. So yeah, probably feels like a job but a job you love for the most part.

Joseph the only reason I am going to see this version of the color purple is because you said so. I am such a fan of the book and the original that respectfully I bought a ticket and gave it away Intentionally because I wanted to support it no matter what but I thought you do not mess with perfection... however because you have given it the green light and I trust you I'm going to go see this film now. Let me fully explain my copy of the color purple it has been read so much that the spine It's completely unbound and the pages fall like leaflet bound and the storage is inside of Tissue paper, a ziploc inside of another purse bag. so this is really really big for me to cave. Nick, I made an effort to see La Bête at a festival here a few weeks ago after reading your glowing Venice review and I ADORED it. It's so inventive and intriguing and playful and fun. Léa Seydoux is tremendous. Thank you for recommending it! I can't wait to see it again. I have a list but my other two major favourites this year are Fallen Leaves and Houria. I also want to spotlight the Spanish film, Creatura, which is so intelligent and thoughtful. Were you able to catch that one at Cannes?

Past lives is the most overrated movie of the year. It may be good but it is being pushed as a perfect movie. I thought there 15 great minutes in it being surrounded by 100 mediocre minutes. This should have been a short film.(and would have been a shoe in for short film of the year. The cinematography was also amazing in to so I see the praise but that doesn’t make it great)

😐Most of movies in contention for any of the major awards are overrated so Past Lives is no exception.
