It was fun to see my fave ship featured in its own video! And I love your outfit 😉. Some of my fave little DM hints that you didn’t mention: Armand saying he “wouldn’t let [daniel] near his neck if he…” in season 1. Weird thing to say about someone who has never drunk your blood from your neck before! Armand needing to leave the room when Louis offers to turn Daniel in season 1 Armand mentioning blenders and looking so softly at Daniel when they’re alone in 2.3 (the blenders may be more of an inside joke for fans rather than an in universe memory but it’s clear what they’re hinting at) Armand being more concerned about what Daniel thinks of him than Louis in 2.6 This is more to do with Daniel’s turning, but when Louis mentions Madeleine being turned, he says she went willingly, the lamb smiling up at the wolf. The camera is on Daniel on “lamb” and Armand on “wolf”, hinting that Daniel may have been turned consensually and not out of spite. I think there are lots of reasons to think this actually- mainly that Louis is the one who acts out spite generally, and Armand acts out of fear and a desire to cling to love. I’m excited to see the reveal of how that actually went down. My favorite corollary to the past DM theory is that it explains why Daniel was able to get the upper hand on Armand. Armand may have been afraid to read Daniel’s mind in case he triggered the past memories resurfacing. Armand mentions that he was not good at seeing other people’s plans because he was “in love”. He’s talking about Paris and likely lying, bc he was quite aware of the coven’s plots against Louis and Claudia. But maybe there’s some truth to it when it actually comes to Daniel. This part is just speculation but it’s fun to think about!
@@mariamaynotIn season one, Louis asks Daniel, What's the best drug he's ever had. And Daniel says, some black tar that he had in the late 70's(I always wonder if the "black tar" was actually Armand's blood).
@@mlandry491 Maybe those vampires can, but nobody irl does. The honey and pineapple was mainly a lewd remark to mess with Daniel. Drinking lots of pine apple juice supposedly cuts down the bitter taste of...another bodily fluid. But there's no scientific proof for that.
There’s also the fact that after Daniel makes the comment about liking Alice in a purple dress because she was confident, Armand wears a purple shirt the next episode.
@@Inzanti i think it was more how his blood taste like lol about his weight i think he canculated how such a "thin guy" handle feeding and not passed out as the other much bigger guy did
maybe i'm too devil's minion pilled, but every single scene they had together, i felt like guys no this is obviously because they're in love. it's something in the way armand acts towards daniel, like beyond the story, if feels undeniable
I read on a post on reddit (so take it with a grain of salt) that Assad was encouraged to act in a yearning-coded way that Eric was not, which would make sense because Armand would remember and Daniel wouldn't. I don't remember what the commenter cited as their source. When I rewatch clips though, even if just because they're curated for the effect, I feel that, but I also feel Daniel's complex discomfort as if he is trying to suppress feelings too. This entire time Armand has been trying to keep his house of cards from falling down, and I'm still not sure, even with Louis gone, that everything has toppled.
I picked up on a vibe between them way back in season 1 before I even knew that Rashid was Armand (or even who Armand was, period) so I don't think it's just you.
I'm basically convinced they're going this route. I hope we'll get Daniel having Devil's Minion flashbacks while interviewing Lestat. Maybe the maker-fledgling bond chips away at the alterations bit by bit so we get a drip feed of memories coming back. Maybe things Lestat's telling him don't jive with stories Daniel subconsciously knows because Armand's told him about Marius and Lestat's time in Paris with Gabrielle. Luke's line where Young Daniel's talking about how he's good at getting people to open up feels so much more important to the character of Armand who keeps tighter control over his history than Louis who's itching to tell his story. Yes that line applied in season 2 as well, but having a Devil's Minion backstory where Armand truly opened up to Daniel and came to fear/regret it enough to redact himself seems like the best way to get the Vampire Armand plot points into the story. By Armand-standards, in San Francisco, he was chomping at the bit to tell Daniel about himself, bringing up the slavers in Dehli within hours of meeting him. I don't see Armand getting his own standalone season to tell his story. Plus, it would make the Louis/Armand relationship in season 2 so much more tragic, Armand desperately clinging to it after giving Daniel up. I do wonder if, like you mentioned about Daniel's publisher, they might include Marius in the backstory- maybe to bring in the idea of fledglings always growing to hate their makers which was Armand's biggest hesitation in the book and could be a good reason Armand would've let Daniel go and erased himself. If they do that, having Pandora in the present QoTD plot would show a couple breaking that pattern by coming together again through multiple millennia. It would give the boys a reason to try again. I realize I basically wrote a fanfic in your comments, but I just wanted to say thanks for putting all of this together in one place and giving me a little more faith that they'll fully do these characters justice. I absolutely adore the show versions of them and I have so much hope they'll make something beautiful.
@@ciceroprofacto5307 thank you for the comment, all the points are great! On the topic of Marius, I've seen some people speculate that the memory erasure could've been Marius' work 😵💫 But that's another fanfic in the making!
@@mariamaynot Oh man, I kinda love that... I could see Armand being incapable of that level of memory manipulation or unable to bring himself to do it and asking Marius to do it for him. They could even sprinkle in hints that he doesn't really want to but Marius is pushing him because Daniel's a mess and he thinks it's best for Armand (or is trying to get Armand back for himself because Pandora's ditched him again). In TV shows they're always trying to up the stakes of the previous seasons "big bad". While season 3's going to have Akasha, she's functionally a plot antagonist who serves as a physical threat to everyone, but doesn't do a whole lot for character-dynamics like making Armand the antagonist in season 2 did. Making Marius start out as an antagonistic figure in Daniel/Armand's relationship could do that really well...
Unless that alleged "Night Island" spin-off is actually Devil's Minion and all that stuff about an art heist is like a red herring to keep it on the downlow? 🤔🤔🙃👀😅 (I'm not investing much in this theory, I don't wanna get my hopes up only to possibly be disappointed, but how sneaky yet cool with THAT be??)😂
@@ciceroprofacto5307 IS she going to be an antagonist yet, for the tv series, though? Or is she just going to be, you know, somehow peripherally being kept in flashbacks-in advance of when she comes out to play for real later on? 🤔 How much S3 going to lean into Book 3-or only Book 2? How much 2020s timeline are we actually going to get or not exactly-and if we do what exactly is it going to do??
The thing with erasing memories is that people fill in the blanks. Daniel had feelings but no memories. He knew there was a Person he loved and that in '85 he made some sort of proposal because he remembers a ring and his excitement and nervousness and then devastation. He probably did ask Armand to spend all eternity with him and Armand erased himself from Daniel's memory right then. His mind filled in all the blanks with assumptions later on. That's why everything about that time in his life is so blurry. Armand only had to set an image of a woman, and a real woman who knew Daniel would be easier, whose memories he manipulated to include Daniel as her boyfriend, in Daniel's mind. So they would know and love each other yet there would be few specific memories. Then Daniel got his life together and married the mortal woman Alice. His confusion about girls might have been about memories he had of Claudia.
Anne had a rather pathetic overly obsessive love for her (imo very cliched) character Lestat. She never seemed to realize her secondary characters were just as, if not more so, interesting that Lestat. Or maybe she did and that's why she put them all on the back burner so not to overshadow her beloved Lestat. Daniel isn't the only character that got sidelined. Louis was the character we all fell in love with but in all the later books he's just Lestats sometime boyfriend with barely any dialog.
About the 'Louis was in on it theory'--go back to the scene in Dubai when they're looking at the old Paris photos. Louis and Armand explain about the ''friends--guys'' they had back then and that some they let live (presumably needing to erase their memories) and some they ''drained for sport"---forward to San Fran and they're in the bar together and Louis invites Armand to join them, suggesting that this is still a regular thing they do. Considering Louis' affinity for Daniel and that he admitted that he'd been 'following his career' it could be that they both continued stalking him for a while afterwards--and Louis' throwing the Alice thing in his face suggests he was there also. My theory would be that when Alice turned up pregnant is when Louis and Armand decided to leave him be and let him live his life--and if that was 1985 that would fit the 12 years span of DM. Like you, I'm not married to any particular scenario--just pointing out the possibilities---and considering how much smarter than us the writers are I expect to be blown away.
@@mouse2390 I mean, Armand did share his special caged boy / blood pet with Louis in Paris in the books. And considering the things Armand got Daniel to do while Armand watched in DM. It's not that much of a stretch to imagine this whole LouDanMand throuple bit 100% plausibly might have happened if LouMand had stayed together a few more decades longer than in the books. And saying that they did stay together for longer than in the books just helps bring the tv series' timeline forward into the now-current era, to keep with the original spirit of the books making it possible to imagine "what if this was really happening / what if these vampires could actually be existing around us right now" or whatever that Anne Rice loved to play with.
One more script/acting clue I think was in 2x06, when Armand seems more intent on defending his actions to Daniel than to Louis, his actual partner. "Why did I owe YOU my shame? Why did I owe you my one act of cowardice?" Why would he care what Daniel thought of him?
Ah! Thank you for putting this segment together. In The Vampire Lestat we learn that not only was Theatre of Vampires used as a hub for vamps trafficking in & out, but so were bars. I wonder if that is another aspect of why Armand knows how to make drinks so well?
A bit far-fetched but this could be another possible crumb - Daniel asking "Was it raining, Louis?" more than once in s1. From our favourite chapter in QotD: ...Finally, after a year and a half of this madness, Daniel began to question Armand. What had it really been like in those days in Venice? Look at this film, set in the eighteenth century, tell me what is wrong. But Armand was remarkably unresponsive. "I cannot tell you those things because I have no experience of them. You see, I have so little ability to synthesize knowledge; I deal in the immediate with a cool intensity. What was it like in Paris? Ask me if it rained on the night of Saturday, June 5, 1793. Perhaps I could tell you I that."...
The evening just got better. The number of times I had to pause this video and just breathe… Thank you for mentioning blue ceilings and mail keys and martinis. I was waiting for such video (not necessarily from you but just in general) and still somehow was not ready. Great outfit btw 🔥
16:37 “and what did she say” cuts to a visual of Armand in San Fransisco, oooo, sneaky edit there. I was on board when someone pointed out the purple shirt, but that edit is compelling.
I'm obsessed with everything IWTV, and the way you broke down this video and 'possibilities' I'm here for it! It would be so AMC-ish for Daniel to have been living in Armand's apartment all this time especially since Louis told 'the boy' that he was into real estate during their first meeting. Bottom Line, I immediately subscribed to your channel and will be viewing your past videos! I love how the book is different from the movie and the series has so many twists and layers from the books! Thank you for the deep dives!
@@lesliepulliam im def enjoying the easter eggs directed at the vc readers. i feel appreciated... its like being fed a drop of vampire blood each time i discover a new one. i bond deeper and want more!
The edit in the Paris proposal memory and the eyebrow seals it for me. She's blonde Armand is brunette I figure it means sometimes he remembers half his face half hers. Idk but that's what I've been thinking.
My mind is blown I never caught onto these little acting choices! I honestly hope they go the route of the devils minion ship just because it would be so fruitful to see the pay off of these subtitle hints!
Okay, first of all: THAT OUTFIT!!! 😍😉 Fantastic breakdown of thee ship of all time, both in the books (one of my favourite chapters, if not my absolute fave, in the entire VC) and in the show. There were a few super interesting details I'd missed, especially that Trinity Gate-esque blue sky ceiling??? 😮Honestly they could go with any storyline in the show and i'd be okay with it, as long as DM is there in some form or another. I trust Papa Rolin's twisted mind will deliver, no matter what. Also the Eric/Assad/LBF chemistry is just too good to not make the most of it.
Honestly I was getting so annoyed at how certain the truthers have been and it almost made me get like... anti-hype? But seeing it all together- I mean, for two seasons we've had a "Daniel's memory is spotty and when it comes back Armand is there" subplot, which almost makes me 100% a truther myself (even though I try not to get invested in any theory! So hard!) If they announce a title or if a title card pops up and it's even an obscure quote from that chapter, this fandom is crashing the entire internet.
@@katherineelmore9919 honestly I'm not a real truther because I'm not ready to die at this hill, and I'm open to anything the show eventually decides to do - but it's so fun to connect the dots, I almost forgot what it felt like!
If you hear what is actually said..."i assume you haven't heard from my maker". That dosent necessarily mean that daniel isn't in contact with him, just Louis is not. Daniel didn't say he hasn't heard from him. If you see the preview for the 3rd season when Daniel's arm comes into the view he has a tattoo on his forarm that says "Armand spoke the truth". Not really sure what it means but it must have been personal and signifigant enough to Daniel for him to have it permanently put onto his body. No, it was not spite or anger...if that was the case Armand would have just ended him. 'Spite' was Louis word, not Daniel's, and he wasn't there. Armand has a repeating theme in the show. When he is in a situation he wants to end he allows someone to be the harbinger to destroy it, because for some reason he will not do it himself. He let Lestat destroy the dinghy sewer coven, he let Louis burn it all, he allowed Daniel to destroy the sterile relationship he had with Louis...because in all cases Armand wanted it to end but for some reason would not do it himself. At the end when Daniel gives Louis the actual script with Armand's notes, every time Armand makes eye contact with Daniel there isn't anger on his face, but more like as i would describe as 'fear and panic'.It was more of a look of " help me". I was a nurse for many years being able to read syntax and nuance is important.
I love Armand's cycles! And his inability to take responsibility for changing his own life. He just... lets things happen, and then adapts, and then manipulates the resulting situation. But re: "Armand told the truth" tattoo, I don't think it was Daniel's arm, since Daniel is the director/interviewer, and it's not his job to operate the clapper. I think that guy's arm tattoo is just a tongue-in-cheek nod to the book gaining popularity and the stan wars that come with it.
@mariamaynot No it is Daniels arm for sure. His watch on the wrist and you can hear his voice come closer and speaking from that side. There are also at least 3 days of missing time when Armand was essentially holding Louis and Daniel hostage in the apartment in San Francisco. When he wanted Daniel to teach him how to be 'fascinating'. And again if you listen Louis didn't say Daniel was "exciting and fascinating" but the time he spent with him was...there is a difference in meaning. Armand distorted it, the time he spent with him wasn't going to be the same because Armand became essentially crazy and was terrifying him. The last thing the show is Armand saying "i'll keep digging" and then it jumps at least 3 days later. Armand also didn't contact Lestat for Louis benefit, he did it to hurt Lestat.
about why armand consoles daniel about the failed proposal, i always thought it was a weird moment of vulnerability and kindness from armand to a man he literally doesn't want there possibly ruining what he has with louis, but the alice is armand theory doesn't hold up to me. what makes more sense to me is that, since it's implied that louis and armand still act distant and go their separate ways after the 70s fiasco, i find it very plausible armand was actually following daniel for a long time, and was after him in paris when he proposed to alice. he probably did hear their thoughts at the moment, and that's why he tells daniel in 2022. and also, it doesn't have to be armand in the place of alice literally for him to feel similarly about daniel, specially in retrospect, reflecting of what happened in san francisco. i find this reading to be more representative of both book and show devil's minion tbh. lovely summary of my beloved insane ship 💖
I think it’s funny how in the show both Armand and Daniel technically would have cheated on someone during the 70’s and 80’s (Armand on Louis and Daniel on Alice)
Well, okay, but if Louis can f-off tri-annually and screw/drain literally hundreds of human guys before Daniel even while technically being with Armand....why can't/shouldn't Armand sometimes f-off and play around with one, after that, too? 🤔 🤷 Loll (Personally, I'm kinda fond of the idea of Louis maybe having been in on it, though-I mean, LouDan did initially ask Armand to join them in '70s San Francisco after all, didn't they?.😏 😅😂🤭🤭😁💖🤣 It's also not like that would be totally out of character for Armand either, honestly.) And maybe Daniel/Alice might've had a kind of rockier, on-again/off-again type relationship or something too? Who knows!
8:47 - Daniel mentions that Paris in the 1980s was "the first time" he proposed. Perhaps he meant that he proposed to Alice twice? (If we believe the vampire that she said 'no' then and did so because she didn't trust Daniel since Daniel hadn't given her a reason to, we could possibly consider that was why the emphasis in her having said 'yes' to his proposal "after [he] got [his] sh** together"?....) Not merely that he proposed once to each ex-wife separately? 😅🤔🤷🤷🏻♂️🤷♀️ 13:22 - I mean.. I'm sure it would be very easy for Armand[ or any other vampire] to get access to whatever he wanted either just using telekinesis alone to turn the lock without a key or by using the mind gift on any human who could access it. But being the landlord[ or a former resident of that same apartment/mailbox/whatever] or something would be a hilarious flex!😂😊🤭🤭😏😁👏🏻💖💖💖 (Old Man Daniel would most likely be livid!! ^--^)
would that mean he proposed to Alice twice, and both times in Paris? I was also confused by the part where 1) Alice tells Daniel she's pregnant - they're in Paris, and Daniel answers with "yeah". That means it's early in her pregnancy 2) Alice in her third trimester when he proposes. They're also in Paris. Were they staying there the whole time from the first to third trimester of her pregnancy? Did they live there? So many questions...
If we don't at least get some kinda dream sequence with all three of them together, I'm going fanfic hunting. Because....literally, how dare Assad put that idea in people's minds, inadvertently or otherwise. Lol
5:06 - (spoilers, maybe , for Khayman and/or Akasha and/or some basic general lore things that haven't come up yet in the tv series) I read somewhere once that some of Anne's notes or an old draft or something[ I forget exactly what but it was something unpublished and accessible in the Anne Rice museum collection or such] which indicated she had plans at one point for Daniel to have initially ended up becoming companions with Khayman after leaving Armand before getting scooped up by Marius. That could theoretically actually explain why Daniel lost his marbles. (Khayman is like, literally the third-oldest vampire ever created.) And, in the books, Armand claimed once that if new vampires became too powerful too young they might lose their mind because the power was too much for a new vampire to handle before the new vampire could even truly master use or control of those abilities rather than developing them only a little bit at a time the longer they'd been a vampire. And Daniel was likely already a newbie vamp with quite a lot of power being the first vampire ever transformed by Armand and Armand having been like half a millennia old when Daniel was transformed-then you add on top of it possibly sipping for a while as companion from the veins of basically the oldest / most powerful vampire of all time other than Akasha or Enkil, which I imagine could be a pretty powerful level-up. Literally no wonder he might've lost his mind a bit, being that powerful that young? 😅🤔🤔👀 It would be kinda cool if the tv series maybe explored that. Buut I'm not holding my breath, since it was never officially canonized in Anne's published novels. But still, I thought that was super interesting.
@@mariamaynot No problem! 💖 I feel like that's something everybody wonders about sooner or later, so when I heard about that I was just like🙀🙀 _^Ooo -shiny!^_ 😆 So now I'm always happy to pass it on, for whatever little it may or may not ever be worth. 🙂
I've been making so many of these exact points for months yet people will just not let go of the 'spite' thing. First of all, Louis said Daniel was ''burdened'', not 'turned'--words matter with this level of writing---the 'burden' could be having to deal with a flaked-out mess of a maker Haha. Also, what the hell would Louis know about it anyway? Why would Armand tell him that (if they're even speaking at all) except maybe to make Louis feel responsible to punish him (there's the 'spite'?) Louis has been talking out his ass for 2 seasons and now all of a sudden he's the Oracle of Truth? What I'm waiting for now is the announcement that Luke is on the cast list for Season 3--then I'll get excited.
@@mouse2390 exactly, in the unreliable narrator show we get an unreliable line of dialogue with barely any context and suddenly it's the ultimate truth 🙈
Louis is also kinda infamous for assuming other people's motives-and also sort of for not really listening to other people even if they try to tell him otherwise. Sometimes you have to just smile and nod and pat him on the cheek like because you know that's what he believes and there's gonna be no convincing him otherwise until he's good and ready to reconsider it more all on his own. Lol (But I think probably people are assuming more that Daniel might've told Louis about that, rather than that Armand did, since Louis and Daniel have clearly been in contact occasionally since Dubai...according to their words exchanged during their final S2 interaction.) Honestly... I'd initially thought Louis had said "turned out of spite" after S2 first aired, too, though. It wasn't until rewatching it again that I realized Loui'd actually said "burdened" instead.
Thank you so much for your research, I haven’t read devils minion yet. I’m so excited for season three I can hardly breathe. I’m just open. I don’t know where they’re gonna take it but I hope there’s definitely more Assad.
This is great! Love the depth you go into without going full tinfoil hat. And great choice of video title and intro. Makes it clear what you’re going to discuss for those of us in the loop without spoiling anything for the show-only folks.
The only fear I have is Marius/Daniel which I think will be explored in the series too. Especially with the theories that the character "Jasper" in the Talamasca series would be Marius and Eric shooting with him the other month would fit them meeting at least. Help.
@@nicky9790 tbh I wouldn't be mad if they did because I'm all for the messiness! But as I mentioned somewhere in the comments, I don't really see old man Daniel falling for Marius' bullshit unless, like in the books, he also loses his mind for a bit
Wouldn't that also make it kind of ironic that in S1, when Daniel and Armand are looking at the painting by Marius, Daniel says: 'Never heard of him'?. Lol
All of this perhaps finally solves my problem with the show...namely, why does Atmand allow this whole situation to occur the retelling and reinventing of the whole original Interview (besides his hubris that would allow him to think he had mind washed both their minds so completely of course...)...Having his two loves together, and playing with their minds is even better than the hunt we see him go out on, and excitement he can't resist because..."the vampire is bored..." to put Loises words in Armands mouth.
So, a bit of weirdness on the Dukes and Martini things... One of the staples of Duke's martinis is that they use relatively little vermouth in them compared to other recipes. They also typically use dry vermouth, which is the more common choice for modern recipes. Sweet vermouth or half dry & half sweet is used in older recipes. Now, while Daniel claims to be "more of a savory man," his drink of choice when he was younger was the very sweet Grasshopper, he is shown drinking multiple sodas, and eating sugary desserts. So, I think the man has a sweet tooth. I think the reason Daniel liked Armand's martini's so much is because Armand made them with a decent amount of sweet vermouth.
I have to write this somewhere there is another clue that the Devil's Mnion happened. " was it raining Louis ?" This sentence asked several times by Daniel, echoing a conversation between Daniel and Armand. Daniel asked Armand about historical movies, if he could pinpoint errors. Armand answered he couldn't. He had a perfect memory, he could tell him if it was raining on a particuliar day in Paris, but he he couldn't make a synthesis of an era. It is interesting to note that Daniel asks precisely if it was raining and that Louis wasn't sure. Other point : Armand can't see anachronism in movies, so the memories he puts in people's minds are also full of anachronism.
Is it that he can't see anachronisms, or is it just that there were a lot of things/places that he never personally visited? 🤔 So, like, he can't tell you what those things/places were like or not(even though he was alive then)? You just have to ask him about things/places he was actually personally present for, and that he actually can tell you?
@@jaginaiaelectrizs6341 someone in comments quoted th exact paragraphs I was referring to. I couldn't write them because my copy is in French. (@iammiranda...) You may be right too. But I really think that Armand's mind is fascinating because he really isn't human like. That's why the scene about " the Odessey of Recollection" made me jump in my seat. Apparently Daniel, in his own autobiography, couldn't remember the right car he owned, and he remembered his child in a car seat that didn't exist at the time... People just don't make these mistakes about their lives. Not when they are journalists trained to write about real events. After watching videos about Armand is Alice, I consider now the idea that his first daughter may not even real. How convenient it is that she doesn't talk to him anymore. If it is a false memory, of course she's not in his life.
@@Isidore-o2k Yeah, I saw that other comment before I found yours, too. (That was kind of why I was questioning it since I'm not so sure about how that quote should or shouldn't be understood.) 🙂 But, either way, I agree that Armand and his mind are really fascinating-for sure!. Personally, I'm wondering if Daniel's mind may or may not be confusing his forgotten memories of Armand in 1970s San Francisco telling Daniel how Daniel's future life was going to go together with his own memories of how his life actually did go for real after forgetting that first interview.
This makes so much sense. I didn't read Reece's series (only watched movie and a friend told me Lestat was endgame) so I didn't know what the Devil's Minion was.Yet even cluelessly watching the two seasons, it's there. Like the actors had to have played into it. I kept rationalising it differently because I thought I was being weird thinking Armand had more chemistry with Daniel than Louis. And I preferred Lestat, so biases. God Louis and Armand weren't working at all imo. I was appalled when I saw they were in a relationship and "couple goals". But Daniel! Their looks and interactions were giving tension and it made me so confused because of the mixed signals etc. The main points where Armand was giving anything (because he was as bland as unsalted boiled cold potatos) was when interacting with Daniel, not Louis. I hope we get a flashback of Paris. Now I'm so excited, it has to happen, I hope they make it happen. Watching both series was exhilarating, I loved them (Sam Reid most of all, Claudia second, both actresses) but man the abuse. Abusive behaviours and relationships everywhere. At least the others were vampires, Daniel's only a human, every time they would make him hurt and slowly unravel how much they toyed with him... Imagine him realising it extends to 10 years of his life removed.
When it comes down to it, on the show, Armand kept Daniel prisoner and tortured him because his boyfriend got coked out via blood and said something mean to him. Daniel nearly died for it, actually. On a separate note: I watched an interview where Rollin Jones was asked about "Devil's Minion" and he says, "who says we're not doing 'Devil's Minion' right now?"
and as I said, it's quite close to the book - Armand kept Daniel prisoner for 3 days there, too (without Louis, though). So who knows what we'll get in s3 🤔
I totally forgot about Devil’s Minion so I spent most of the show slightly puzzled why Armand, a vampire’s vampire, put up with the shenanigans of a human that he openly protested being in the penthouse. I was ready for Armand to tear him in half yet he didn’t. The relationship being in the past and Armand letting Daniel go explains how kind he is to the human to a T.
5:58 - I don't know if this was exclusively Rollins' idea, though... (to create a more singular/cohesive narrative.) Anne Rice herself said in a Facebook livestream Q&A that she was excited about the prospect of possibly getting the opportunity to go back and maybe introduce things sooner that she couldn't introduce sooner in the books because she hadn't imagined them yet until later books. Like, either shortly after or shortly before AMC purchased the rights to adapt the series. So, did someone she was talking to give her the suggestion, or was this actually her own idea which she pitched while shopping for a studio/network/whatever??? 🤔😅🤷🤷♀️🤷🏻♂️👀😁
Having only just begun the first book in the series, and watched the whole TV show twice, I feel I am somehow downloading this delicious infodump with no context and I wouldn't wish it any other way. I keep pausing to scream in shock and flap my arms, it's a lot to take in (that's what armand said) and I want more (also what armand said). Daniel will never be topped. (Armand said that too.)
My interpretation of why the memories of Armon kept cutting in when they were asking about Alice, was because they were using vampire mind powers on him, it was impacting the "editted" memories, when they were pulling back up older memories. My first guess was not to conflate the 2 memories, just that it was magic mind tricks causing a bit of a mixed signal with other repressed memories.
My big beef with the series is that they establish that Louis can read minds (he could not, or would not in the books). So, how Daniel can keep any secret from him? And then it gets worse with Armand being a master in mortal mind reading. Anne rice took the care of creating characters trained on mind block to keep secrets from vampires. That is the thing that makes such theories hard to accept.
You answered your own question: Armand erased Daniel’s mind to avoid Louis being able to read him. Louis can read him but there’s not much he can read if Daniel has certain memories blocked or suppressed.
In season one Lestat establishes that vampires quickly learn to block out mortals' thoughts as they're basically just 'noise' and annoying to them--which means that they then have to actively make the effort to read them. Also, Armand apologized to Daniel for Louis invading his mind as they consider that to be rude to do to a guest.
19:00 i do belive it works as some memories for alice mixed with about armand...coz we do see the same thing about daniel and "burned guy" at hospital when actually it was louis at flat
Thank you! I remember I was on the first season and second book, when I found out that Devil's Minion exists. And I thought that it should be toxic and full of huge power imbalance, abuse and gaslighting. And I've been thinking like: why are you people like them so much?? Then I read The chapter and was like: uh... That's why... 😂 Guess who loves them now. And I haven't noticed the keys and Roman Weiss, that's very interesting. I do wait for Daniel to meet Marius. It should be such a mess. Based on Armand's story in season 2, amc Marius gives me vibes of... a complicated character, let's say that (I don't really like him in the books too, honestly)
me too! I started reading the books after s1, and when the Armand reveal happened and saw everyone theorizing, I was quite lost 😅 I wonder, though, if the show actually decides to go the Daniel/Marius route... it would be... complicated to say the least, but I feel like this older version of Daniel just wouldn't realistically put up with Marius' shit lol
@@mariamaynot No, but maybe Old Man Daniel might actually call Marius out for just turning his back on and abandoning Armand like that just for having been clearly changed by what happened after they were separated and absolutely not helped at all by Marius waiting so long to even try and go after him-and that's kinda something I'd love to see. It's something that no one ever really did in the books, that I recall, and something I always wished I could've jumped into the book and done myself. (It always felt to me kinda like Marius victim blamed Armand-sort of like one of those people who cope with their partner being assaulted so badly that they start looking at their partner differently and break up with them afterward rather than still being supportive or there for their partner.) I want to see Marius pushed to be held accountable for that. Lol
I liked Marius in the books(Although I also may have been biased somewhat by the fact that I personally liked Marius in the 'Queen of the Damned' movie first, so I was basically just full of anticipation and excitement and curiosity to finally get to know what his book!version was like by comparison)....but it's completely fair to say that he is a pretty complicated character, at best.
7:47 - Actually, Armand was the one who told Daniel that Daniel's future likely held nothing for Daniel except failing as a husband and a father and such.....Louis told Daniel that Daniel would always have being a bright report with a point of view even if nothing else and to never ever lose that because it was special/valuable/whatever.
yes, maybe I worded it weirdly - I meant that the only thing he didn't fuck up (his career) was because Louis put that thought in his head, that he's there for a reason, a bright young reporter with stories that need to be told
@@mariamaynot I think maybe you just accidentally said Armand's name instead of Louis' name, unless I just misheard something myself - no worries, either way! 🙂 😁💖 I definitely wasn't trying to attack or criticize you or anything over it, though-so hopefully my comment didn't come off rude like that!. (And please, forgive me, if it did!)
As an old fan, I like this theory about Armand erasing his mind. I can't see the show in my country, but I've read all the books and seen the movies. Vampires take a long time to grow mentally regarding the age they were made. Andrei was his real name.
After Lestat destroyed his coven, with reason, Armand stayed with Nicki. Years after, Lestat came after Louis and Claudia betrayed him. Armand was angry, but also jealous that Lestat never came for him. And well, Marius never rescued Armand. They are a big disfunctional family.
There is something a bit out of sequence that I wonder about... Daniel uses the line 'I'm a bright young reporter with a point of view' multiple times in the flashback sequence from SF BEFORE Louis sticks those words in his head during their burned man scene. Either Daniel's recollection is wrong, or out of sequence, or those words were already in Daniel's head before he ever got to that apartment with Louis. I have wondered why Armand saved Daniel when he found him with Louis. Why save the 129th boy Louis brought back to the apartment when he let him kill the other 128.
I think those are actually Daniel's words, Louis just repeats them when he "progams" Daniel. But as for Armand saving Daniel - I guess he just wanted to save Louis in that moment from Louis' downward spiral and drug addiction. When you think about it, Louis specifically offered those guys drugs before draining them - he wanted that high, he wanted drugs to make the pain stop. And Armand "saving" Daniel looks like taking a needle out of an addict's hands
personally, im thinking the show will definitely have devil’s minion as endgame, but before that, i think daniel may try to get with louis. i dont think they’re fully romantic, but i believe the show has been setting up their platonic connection (which couldbe explored more). VL is just gonna be louis trying to be on his own vampire, without a companion, while lestat & daniel (and maybe armand) struggle with their loneliness and need for companion ship. anyway i would like to see a short danlou/loudaniel fling that leads daniel back to armand
Armand is such an asshole (character). I loathed him in the book. He murdered Claudia in the movies and in the book. I hated how Rice portrayed the relationship between Armand and Daniel in the book-it felt gross. And I much preferred the way this relationship was portrayed in this most recent series-movie.
I have to ask: did you intentionally wear an outfit reminiscent of Armand's in "Don't Be Afraid, Start the Tape"? Or is my obsession with the show finally getting the best of me?
The point of the memory lines isn't just that Daniel had his memories messed around with by Armand. It's way more than that. Throughout the narrative of both the TV series AND the books, one of the things that gets heavily stressed is how our brains always seem to look back with fondness and comfort ourselves, as people by misremembering things almost on purpose. One of the others, is that everything is perspective.
I think this might be the case honestly. It would be a great plot twist if they make Daniel live his nightmare of being in a soap opera situation; remember the Roberto/soap opera act? What if the act is foreshadowing?
Daniel is a public figure, his enemies would've ruined his reputation ages ago if he'd gone on about biological children that never existed. Wives and kids are real, but certain memories are mixed up and were actually with someone else. The charade of imaginary families is just too complicated to uphold, people around Daniel would've needed to be mindtricked as well.
@@susantorre4609 At most, I think of Daniel’s kids one might become Sybelle. She’s a young woman. Benji’s a boy. That is to say, your theory is not likely.
I have the feeling that Alice was just a memory mask with her actually being Armand with his sneaky spell gift I'm not sure how different the vampire gifts differ from the novels with Louis already being able to read minds and can set fire to a trash Can so forgive me a little confusion here I'm up to the second episode of season 2 and with these different angles I'm liking I just hope they don't mess with Marius's background like instead of a Roman scholar and patrician being from Anthes or India for the sake of keeping this decades audience happy and as much I like the show I feel like it's aimed more towards LGBT people than an ordinary heterosexual audience bloody hell one day they'll have you feeling guilty about being Straight! Joking aside' the casting for the younger actor for Daniel was a touch of genius he looks just like him as a younger man and I even deaged Eric and was flabbergasted with how much he resembles the younger actor, Young!also I'm glad they chose an actor to play the younger Daniel instead heavy de ageing tech on Eric since his personality and posture would have been more fluid and natural than a cgi Eric who probably wouldn't have had the body language of a young man
cgi Eric would've also cost quite a bit more lol idk I never feel guilty about being not-straight when I watch heterosexual love stories - so I feel like it shouldn't really matter what one's sexuality is when you watch a great story, like this one. but anyway! I'm also sooo impatient to find out who they choose to play Marius, he'll be an... interesting addition to the show, to say the least! as for vampires' "gifts" in this version, it's an interesting question! I think Louis is more powerful here because of the timeline shift - Louis was turned when Lestat was older and more powerful than in the books, and there's more of a time gap between him turning Gabrielle and Nicki and turning Louis 🤔
@mariamaynot I have Gillian Anderson in mind for Gabrielle and we've got to see Marius with Lestat on his Mediterranean stone house with those who must be kept and a quick story of how he was made a vampire hopefully by the Druids by Teskhaman or The God of the Grove and Mael and how different children of the Millennia appear to New fledglings ect and of course Magnus an elderly man with a humpback and only his fangs for his teeth after he smiles at Lestat's fear and later how Magnus's suicide affects Lestat and of course Gabrielle and their lives together and then the present Lestat with his rock music concert yelling Which one of you would be Vampires?! Can't wait for that I already love the teaser and by the way I meant no offence with my comments on it being aimed towards the LGBT community I've got nothing against it,I guess what I mean is it would be better with more female interaction I guess it must feel normal to you to see same sex interaction as apposed to me wanting to a heterosexual relationship (and I want one I've been single since 2014 due anxiety and depression issues and wouldn't mind the Dark Gift myself at 32 since I've never been popular and wanted a relationship before I start ageing rapidly I'm a gothic, hopeless romantic unfortunately lmao who is trying to beat the clock and my receding scalp....Good to read your reply anyway💯🤞👌
@@enigma7784 oh yes, I agree with you completely about needing more female characters! i want to know... who is kathryn mitchell? and why is louis able to whack armand in the end when armand is clearly stronger than him? and why is he calling armand the name rashid so softly? why?
re: kathryn mitchell - I think it was just an alphabetical list of names, and Daniel was looking for his own - "Molloy" would've been right after hers. But we know... we know he's in the "paramours" folder, not "victims" 😄
Re: Louis - Louis is not the weak vampire everyone views him as. I mean, he was made with Lestat’s blood, so a pissed off well fed Louis can be very dangerous. And Louis wasn’t calling Armand by Rashid’s name, he was actually calling for “real Rashid” to probably clean up the mess or see after Daniel.
@glittermethis on the surface it seems that way yes. but hes not " calling" rashid is he... hes speaking softly. too softly for calling, right? it just seemes to me that maybe that scene will be replayed in flashback. maybe with raglin james? feels like a multi layered scene to me. i mean who is real when there is memory wiping and a body thief?
@@stephenmares3947 in the book, Armand is obsessed with technology, including kitchen appliances, so he gets too into kitchen blenders and microwaves, which he uses to microwave mice 😅
@@mariamaynot My dear, you are a fountain of knowledge for things I have forgotten. Thank you for this dialogue, but thank you even more for being yourself.
I gotta say, I hope they don't go down the Devil's Minion route on the show. I liked it in the book, but having aged Daniel up, I just don't think it works anymore without a LOT of retconning. And there's only so many times the show can use the "your memories were wiped and it was all made up" trick before it's gonna feel real stale. Personally, I found it so refreshing in the show to have one character who isn't fascinated by Armand, and calls him out on his shit. But your theory is all plausible, so guess we'll have to wait until the next season!
I hear you but Daniel called Armand out in the book also--the two bickered like hens, which was a big part of why Armand fell for Daniel in the first place--Daniel was terrified and fascinated but also got in his face and challenged him. We see a bit of that in S2 ep5 with Daniel trying to stand up to him and resist his 'death seduction'.
@@rachelstechman5959 I think even if we don't get them in the past, the show will still get them together in the present - even without past relationship their dynamic would be top tier
Yes. Its called reading the books. I wouldn't even bother with the series or any of the movies wxcept for the first one, and even then... Armand is not accurate.
You forgot in season 1 when Louis was feeding on Armand, and Louis exposed that Daniel was wondering what Armand tasted like. Daniel was disgusted when Louis was feeding on the first guy.
It was fun to see my fave ship featured in its own video! And I love your outfit 😉. Some of my fave little DM hints that you didn’t mention:
Armand saying he “wouldn’t let [daniel] near his neck if he…” in season 1. Weird thing to say about someone who has never drunk your blood from your neck before!
Armand needing to leave the room when Louis offers to turn Daniel in season 1
Armand mentioning blenders and looking so softly at Daniel when they’re alone in 2.3 (the blenders may be more of an inside joke for fans rather than an in universe memory but it’s clear what they’re hinting at)
Armand being more concerned about what Daniel thinks of him than Louis in 2.6
This is more to do with Daniel’s turning, but when Louis mentions Madeleine being turned, he says she went willingly, the lamb smiling up at the wolf.
This part is just speculation but it’s fun to think about!
yes! And Daniel thinking what Armand's blood tastes like...
@@mariamaynotIn season one, Louis asks Daniel, What's the best drug he's ever had. And Daniel says, some black tar that he had in the late 70's(I always wonder if the "black tar" was actually Armand's blood).
@@mariamaynot can one really cause their blood to taste of honey and pineapple?
@@mlandry491 Maybe those vampires can, but nobody irl does. The honey and pineapple was mainly a lewd remark to mess with Daniel. Drinking lots of pine apple juice supposedly cuts down the bitter taste of...another bodily fluid. But there's no scientific proof for that.

maybe i'm too devil's minion pilled, but every single scene they had together, i felt like guys no this is obviously because they're in love. it's something in the way armand acts towards daniel, like beyond the story, if feels undeniable

@@ciceroprofacto5307 I really like the idea of us seeing some TVA flashbacks when Armand opens up to Daniel! (Either young or old)
@@mariamaynot Oh man, I kinda love that...

Justice for Louis 😔
Like you, I'm not married to any particular scenario--just pointing out the possibilities---and considering how much smarter than us the writers are I expect to be blown away.
such a nice theory! tbh I'm rooting for Louis to be involved one way or another
@@mariamaynot Oh, me too--it would be a perfect way to keep the story and still change it up for the book readers.
I see your costuming decisions and I applaud you for it.
One more script/acting clue I think was in 2x06, when Armand seems more intent on defending his actions to Daniel than to Louis, his actual partner. "Why did I owe YOU my shame? Why did I owe you my one act of cowardice?" Why would he care what Daniel thought of him?

A bit far-fetched but this could be another possible crumb - Daniel asking "Was it raining, Louis?" more than once in s1. From our favourite chapter in QotD:
...Finally, after a year and a half of this madness, Daniel began to question Armand.
I've read so much devil's minion fanfiction that if the show doesn't decide to make the 12 year relationship im gonna be devastated 😅

omg a devil’s minion video blessing my recommended?? watching immediately
So start
I'm obsessed with everything IWTV, and the way you broke down this video and 'possibilities' I'm here for it! It would be so AMC-ish for Daniel to have been living in Armand's apartment all this time especially since Louis told 'the boy' that he was into real estate during their first meeting. Bottom Line, I immediately subscribed to your channel and will be viewing your past videos! I love how the book is different from the movie and the series has so many twists and layers from the books! Thank you for the deep dives!
thank you for watching! I also enjoy the differences immensely, they give so much food for thought and fuel for speculation!
@@countbellalublowsi4702 haven't thought about the eyebrow comment that way! 👀
@@Gremlinito thank you! And yes, with these two seasons Rolin earned my trust, I'm positive he won't disappoint me going forward!
So hard!)
If they announce a title or if a title card pops up and it's even an obscure quote from that chapter, this fandom is crashing the entire internet.
It’s not Daniel’s arm tho.
about why armand consoles daniel about the failed proposal, i always thought it was a weird moment of vulnerability and kindness from armand to a man he literally doesn't want there possibly ruining what he has with louis, but the alice is armand theory doesn't hold up to me. what makes more sense to me is that, since it's implied that louis and armand still act distant and go their separate ways after the 70s fiasco, i find it very plausible armand was actually following daniel for a long time, and was after him in paris when he proposed to alice. he probably did hear their thoughts at the moment, and that's why he tells daniel in 2022. and also, it doesn't have to be armand in the place of alice literally for him to feel similarly about daniel, specially in retrospect, reflecting of what happened in san francisco. i find this reading to be more representative of both book and show devil's minion tbh. lovely summary of my beloved insane ship 💖
@@aleacuna2794 oh definitely, it could be interpreted either way, and I'm into this one too
I think it’s funny how in the show both Armand and Daniel technically would have cheated on someone during the 70’s and 80’s (Armand on Louis and Daniel on Alice)
made for each other! but fr...😶
Well, okay, but if Louis can f-off tri-annually and screw/drain literally hundreds of human guys before Daniel even while technically being with Armand....why can't/shouldn't Armand sometimes f-off and play around with one, after that, too? 🤔 🤷 Loll
(Personally, I'm kinda fond of the idea of Louis maybe having been in on it, though-I mean, LouDan did initially ask Armand to join them in '70s San Francisco after all, didn't they?.😏 😅😂🤭🤭😁💖🤣 It's also not like that would be totally out of character for Armand either, honestly.)
And maybe Daniel/Alice might've had a kind of rockier, on-again/off-again type relationship or something too?
13:22 - I mean..
I was also confused by the part where
1) Alice tells Daniel she's pregnant - they're in Paris, and Daniel answers with "yeah". That means it's early in her pregnancy
2) Alice in her third trimester when he proposes. They're also in Paris. Were they staying there the whole time from the first to third trimester of her pregnancy? Did they live there? So many questions...
@@mariamaynot Yeah.... That's pretty much what I'm wondering? Many questions, for sure!!

5:06 - (spoilers, maybe , for Khayman and/or Akasha and/or some basic general lore things that haven't come up yet in the tv series)
I read somewhere once that some of Anne's notes or an old draft or something[ I forget exactly what but it was something unpublished and accessible in the Anne Rice museum collection or such] which indicated she had plans at one point for Daniel to have initially ended up becoming companions with Khayman after leaving Armand before getting scooped up by Marius. 😅🤔🤔👀
It would be kinda cool if the tv series maybe explored that. Buut I'm not holding my breath, since it was never officially canonized in Anne's published novels. But still, I thought that was super interesting.

Lol
(But I think probably people are assuming more that Daniel might've told Louis about that, rather than that Armand did, since Louis and Daniel have clearly been in contact occasionally since Dubai...according to their words exchanged during their final S2 interaction.)
Honestly... I'd initially thought Louis had said "turned out of spite" after S2 first aired, too, though. It wasn't until rewatching it again that I realized Loui'd actually said "burdened" instead.

Wouldn't that also make it kind of ironic that in S1, when Daniel and Armand are looking at the painting by Marius, Daniel says: 'Never heard of him'?. Lol

All of this perhaps finally solves my problem with the show...namely, why does Atmand allow this whole situation to occur the retelling and reinventing of the whole original Interview (besides his hubris that would allow him to think he had mind washed both their minds so completely of course...)...Having his two loves together, and playing with their minds is even better than the hunt we see him go out on, and excitement he can't resist because..."the vampire is bored..." to put Loises words in Armands mouth.
why Armand goes along with the interview is an interesting question indeed, and I really feel we haven't got the full answer to it yet...
@@Isidore-o2k ohh interesting! Didn't catch the one about anachronism
(@iammiranda...)
You may be right too.

Imagine him realising it extends to 10 years of his life removed.
glad that non-book readers see it too!!
@@mariamaynoti meant AMC Armand was pettier than Book Armand.
Sidebar: I laughed a little too hard when Daniel called Armand an immortal idiot.
we may never know! but I'm grateful it came to such fruition!

I was pleasantly surprised at all the violent action scenes. Poor Luie getting dropped at mach 3.
(Armand said that too.)
your comment wins 😁
My interpretation of why the memories of Armon kept cutting in when they were asking about Alice, was because they were using vampire mind powers on him, it was impacting the "editted" memories, when they were pulling back up older memories. My first guess was not to conflate the 2 memories, just that it was magic mind tricks causing a bit of a mixed signal with other repressed memories.
It is not Armand that you should be worried about, it is the other...
right? what did he mean by that what did he MEAN
WHICH "other" one!?! -That's always been my question! 🤔🤔😅🙂
I'm waiting for second season of interview with the vampire on Netflix too come
hope you haven't spoiled it for yourself too much!
That is the thing that makes such theories hard to accept.
but if Daniel doesn't remember... he doesn't need to keep it secret? or do you mean in the past? I'm a bit confused
but as how to Armand couldn't read Daniel's plotting of the script reveal, that's another question...
You answered your own question: Armand erased Daniel’s mind to avoid Louis being able to read him. Louis can read him but there’s not much he can read if Daniel has certain memories blocked or suppressed.
I have a feeling that Armand wanted Daniel to remember.

Based on Armand's story in season 2, amc Marius gives me vibes of... a complicated character, let's say that (I don't really like him in the books too, honestly)
me too! I started reading the books after s1, and when the Armand reveal happened and saw everyone theorizing, I was quite lost 😅
I wonder, though, if the show actually decides to go the Daniel/Marius route... it would be... complicated to say the least, but I feel like this older version of Daniel just wouldn't realistically put up with Marius' shit lol

I’ve never clicked so fast 💨
Ok, I've never heard the Alice is Armand theory, but I'm convinced it's true now.
@@youngbutternut5536 welcome to the club 🤝
personally, im thinking the show will definitely have devil’s minion as endgame, but before that, i think daniel may try to get with louis. i dont think they’re fully romantic, but i believe the show has been setting up their platonic connection (which couldbe explored more).

Was Armand in the Mummy movies?
@@jemandme34 no, he wasn't
I have to ask: did you intentionally wear an outfit reminiscent of Armand's in "Don't Be Afraid, Start the Tape"? Or is my obsession with the show finally getting the best of me?
it's very intentional :)
I like the fit. (I see what you did there). (;
;)
The point of the memory lines isn't just that Daniel had his memories messed around with by Armand. It's way more than that.
Throughout the narrative of both the TV series AND the books, one of the things that gets heavily stressed is how our brains always seem to look back with fondness and comfort ourselves, as people by misremembering things almost on purpose. One of the others, is that everything is perspective.
I sub just found your channel 😊
thank you!
the theory i have is the two wives clearly armand and marius the two kids arent going to be biological kids could be sybelle and benji
🤯
I think this might be the case honestly. It would be a great plot twist if they make Daniel live his nightmare of being in a soap opera situation; remember the Roberto/soap opera act? What if the act is foreshadowing?
but he has a closet full of childrens things.. we see this when he pulls out the tape player... the items could be planted perhaps
Contructive critisim. You need a 'pop filter' on your mic. Great content! But your breathing and mouth sounds detract from your narrating.
@@fantasticfraggle I bought one!
Joking aside' the casting for the younger actor for Daniel was a touch of genius he looks just like him as a younger man and I even deaged Eric and was flabbergasted with how much he resembles the younger actor, Young!also I'm glad they chose an actor to play the younger Daniel instead heavy de ageing tech on Eric since his personality and posture would have been more fluid and natural than a cgi Eric who probably wouldn't have had the body language of a young man
cgi Eric would've also cost quite a bit more lol
idk I never feel guilty about being not-straight when I watch heterosexual love stories - so I feel like it shouldn't really matter what one's sexuality is when you watch a great story, like this one.
I can't wait to see Gabrielle and Akasha and the twins, maybe Pandora eventually, who knows maybe Jesse or even Merrick? Anyway, the show really does have a bit too many men now 😅

i love you😞
your joking right, it was extremely obvious why he turned him only you and the rest of the dense didnt understand
i want to know... who is kathryn mitchell? and why is louis able to whack armand in the end when armand is clearly stronger than him? and why is he calling armand the name rashid so softly? why?
re: kathryn mitchell - I think it was just an alphabetical list of names, and Daniel was looking for his own - "Molloy" would've been right after hers. But we know... we know he's in the "paramours" folder, not "victims" 😄
@mariamaynot ahh makes sense! unless shes wife number 2? paramours... victims.. consumate... drain... 6 of one half dozen of the other.. lol
@@mariamaynotOh my god, good catch! I was wondering about the list of names ( of course, he's under paramours 😏)

Spite. And trying to stay in Louis life.
@@TheVioletWolf thankfully I enjoy both 😊
You forgot in season 1 when Louis was feeding on Armand, and Louis exposed that Daniel was wondering what Armand tasted like. Daniel was disgusted when Louis was feeding on the first guy.
