It's because it's (the studio) is mostly made up from people who worked at GFI Russia (aka Mist Land South) and they were known for tactical strategies.

And you were to pull them out of it somehow. Fun fact: despite the stats showing that said journos were barely capable of self-defense, those two insurgents that somehow managed to sneak inside their hideout during my playthrough got beaten to death with the massive camera the reporters were carrying around. At 11:05 the suicider isn't blowing its own forces. That mission represents the infighting between Daesh (ISIS) and al Nusra (Syrian al Qaeda). So in that mission just like in real life you have more than one rebel faction who fight each other if they aren't busy fighting you. Al Nusra controls everything on the left and ISIS much of what's on the right side of the road. Played the game a long time ago. Like you I loved it. The story was hilarious for all the wrong reasons, the mechanics were quite good.

One thing I like about this game is that you start fighting as just the police force against a militia. You don't really see a lot of games focus on the early skirmishes of a conflict like that.

When I played it I kept Uncle Mansur to the end of the game, he was my most elite tank commander, every time a got a new tank, Mansur was the first to get it. When I put him in the latest T-90 later in the game he was fucking UNSTOPPABLE! Thanks to ERA, that actually works in this game he was virtually immune to RPGs from the front. Uncle Mansur, BEST SYRIAN TANKER 50 YEARS AND COUNTING!

That means that 50% of the bombs dropped will fall in a circle of 100 meters of diameter around the target. The other 50% will fall outside. Fact is that even if the target is identified as hostile. The pilot has a clear aiming point and execute a perfect weapon delivery the bomb does not give a shit. It will most likely miss its mark and fall off. Even with an advanced ballistic computer because that only calculates the aimpoint. The rest is variables. That is why western armies use PGMs in urban environments since the CEP is less than 2 meters. And they will still kill civilians in some unfortunate cases making CAS in urban areas problematic to begin with.

There is also a Russian kind of copy game, called Sudden Strike 3, 3D. (Tried to translate it in English, in Russian it called Противостояние: 3Д-перезагрузка). Made in old 2010, it’s about fictional war in Afghanistan, where we, as Russian army, fighting terrorists, Pakistan forces and yes, US army. Though, it’s an old game, I remember it being very fun and so easy, as American forces there is very formidable opponent, especially Air units and vehicle. Russian have a GRU infantry, VDV, T90, BMP-2, and various amount of other units. Story is decent and there is good voice acting(in Russian, of course, but I can assure you, it’s good) But, I don’t know, where it can be bought, I lost my CD-copy, and game don’t exist in Steam. Maybe on GOG, I think?

I actually have this game and remember having fun with it. Love the resource management in that your supplies carry over into future missions. So there's even incentive to capture, not destroy enemy equipment. Would love to see more of this from you. Propaganda or not, rts genre needs more love

The strategy this game demanded I use to beat it was phenomenal. I had genuine support by fires just to be able to capture objectives, proper mechanized infantry tactics. This game was awesome

I'm sure this comment won't get noticed as I'm at least 2 years late in writing it. The reason this game came out well is because some of the developers at "Cats Who Play" studio was key figures in the development of "Warfare", released in 2009. Even though the game feels even older, I'm sure it's worth a look.

One thing I like about this game is that you start fighting as just the police force against a militia. You don't really see a lot of games focus on the early skirmishes of a conflict like that.

When I played it I kept Uncle Mansur to the end of the game, he was my most elite tank commander, every time a got a new tank, Mansur was the first to get it. When I put him in the latest T-90 later in the game he was fucking UNSTOPPABLE! Thanks to ERA, that actually works in this game he was virtually immune to RPGs from the front.

Dont know if you are serious or not. Either way here is how it works.
Dumb bombs have an atrocious CEP of around 100 meters around the aiming point. That means that 50% of the bombs dropped will fall in a circle of 100 meters of diameter around the target. The other 50% will fall outside.
Fact is that even if the target is identified as hostile. The pilot has a clear aiming point and execute a perfect weapon delivery the bomb does not give a shit.
It will most likely miss its mark and fall off. Even with an advanced ballistic computer because that only calculates the aimpoint. The rest is variables.
That is why western armies use PGMs in urban environments since the CEP is less than 2 meters. And they will still kill civilians in some unfortunate cases making CAS in urban areas problematic to begin with.

There is also a Russian kind of copy game, called Sudden Strike 3, 3D. (Tried to translate it in English, in Russian it called Противостояние: 3Д-перезагрузка). Made in old 2010, it’s about fictional war in Afghanistan, where we, as Russian army, fighting terrorists, Pakistan forces and yes, US army. Though, it’s an old game, I remember it being very fun and so easy, as American forces there is very formidable opponent, especially Air units and vehicle. Russian have a GRU infantry, VDV, T90, BMP-2, and various amount of other units. Story is decent and there is good voice acting(in Russian, of course, but I can assure you, it’s good)
But, I don’t know, where it can be bought, I lost my CD-copy, and game don’t exist in Steam. Maybe on GOG, I think?

There's another older rts called Warfare made in the same engine that you should check out.
And it is also full of Russian propaganda. But there it is, admittedly, softer and more delicate.

ehhh the different English accents can also show cultural differences without needing voice actors with that culture. As there are a lot of different English accents this helps. But I'd always prefer think accents over than English accents
@@gastari429 i tried to play Metro 2033 in Russia whit english subtitle. swifted back because as soon as combat started I could not understand them as I did not get time to read the subtitle add in that not all combat lines get subtitled I could hear mean I could miss a grenade warning. because the game decided to subtitle one of my alliance Im reloading line.

Iraq War WMDs and Douma-OPCW whistleblowers are both things that have been propagandized, but I'd argue one was definitely closer to the truth.

I actually have this game and remember having fun with it. Love the resource management in that your supplies carry over into future missions. So there's even incentive to capture, not destroy enemy equipment. Would love to see more of this from you. Propaganda or not, rts genre needs more love

The exact reason why this game studio went from cat games to this is that it had guys who are former 2000s RTS developers
Studio was called GFI Russia and has several other RTS such as Warfare(2D modern RTS) and Warfare 3D:Reload.

Hardest RTS I played in my entire life but also very fun
The strategy this game demanded I use to beat it was phenomenal. I had genuine support by fires just to be able to capture objectives, proper mechanized infantry tactics. This game was awesome

The reason this game came out well is because some of the developers at "Cats Who Play" studio was key figures in the development of "Warfare", released in 2009. Even though the game feels even older, I'm sure it's worth a look.
