- The cheap Cadillac Escalade engine swap is one of the most requested videos I've ever had. Everyday there are comments asking when it will be back, and here it is. We had to setup a new shop just to get this knocked out, all new lighting, tools, tool boxes... a lot had to happen to make this happen and now we're ready! The cheap 2011 Cadillac Escalade and its new L94 engine are ready to go, all that's left to do is take out some bolts and put them back in.

I feel like this a is cursed comment from an India diesel engine repair🤣
I have heard of a couple other 6.2's doing this. It is most likely caused by running 87 octane in a premium fuel vehicle. It will ping hard enough to burn a hole in the piston, this one just happened to shatter. Over years and years of super hot heat cycles, it just got brittle.
If gm had used a decent enough PCM it could’ve retarded spark and fuel timing.

Ha! I do the same thing, but visually. I forget the actual name of the dealer, but one time I passed a Chevy dealer at night on a road trip and thought it was called "Special Olympics Chevrolet"

Well, we now know why this engine locked up...I already had a suspicion that a piston blew up like a frag grenade. That means that the previous owner did not took care of that engine properly. I guess the least you can do to that V8 is to part it out, and use the block as a table.

Previous owner obviously thought trinitrotoluene (TNT) was the same thing as nitrous oxide.
I believe they call that “piston deletus”.
Be sure to return the piston bits with the engine core so they can be reforged. With the three of y'all working in that shop you should rename it Cooters Garage. Hopefuly you are not too young to get the reference.

I'd be surprised, at the very very end you said nothing else needs changed, super surprised if there's no other 'while you're in there's' to do.. dunno, to me I'd probably do transmission fluid since it's RIGHT there and easy to just drain right quick, any bushings that look remotely bad would be super easy with no engine weight in the front. Dunno, maybe not, especially if you're going to just flip it, but I'd probably take the time to restore that engine bay to factory if I could. Nice work, on this one, man that piston went kaboom!
If I could help Watch JR Goes grind the stumps I would drink the shots of whiskey and cold Bartle Skeets with him and roll up The 7 Paper Joints with him and get all schmoked up.

You should always have funny brother with you he’s mint.
Man you don't need that fancy machine to delete that stomp.
Just drill some - connecting - horizontal and vertical holes in it and put fire.
The brazes will slowly consume the log to its roots, overnight. 🔥
Some JB Weld will fix that, no problem.

That’s a Midwest thing, we all look alike.
This is what an engine looks like after running Penzoil in a highway vehicle. It is a fine oil for running 500 miles all out on a Nascar track but will absolutely gum up everything if you keep using it. I noticed the comment of the engine smelling like a candle...there you go!
