I would find it very tedious (boring) if I was just pulling them down since I'm an electrical fitter/mechanic who has rebuilt them. I've never had to fully rebuild a GEN3-GEN5 Chevrolet V8 engine, all my LS1 has had done to it is I replaced the hydraulic lifters which got mushroomed in the engine block as I needed to use a set of multigrips to pull number 6 exhaust hydraulic lifter out of the engine block. I replaced the timing chain with an upgraded Rollmaster timing chain & sprocket kit to an LS2 type because they have thicker links than the LS1 timing chain ,it was a bit loose & I had to pull the timing cover off to replace the leaky gasket. I've resealed the engine but all of the pistons, rings, bearings & even the valves haven't been touched, the valves didn't leak when I tested them with acetone for leakage,it had done 337,512 kilometres (209,720 miles) back then in 2018. It's coming up to having done 363,000 kilometres (225,558 miles) now & the repairs were done over 2 years ago, the engine hasn't missed a beat in that time !

Love this channel. One issue is would love to know the mileage of these horrible motors gm or otherwise so people knew what brand to buy or stay away from. Good stuff , keep it up.
It's hard to believe that GM still has not fixed this engine. I had a 2012 Denali that started having lifter problems at about 40,000. The dealer rebuilt the heads twice and then finally put new heads on at about 60,000. Luckily, California has a Lemon law and GM bought it back. My next GM (2016 Yukon) had a 5.8 and never had any issues. I upgraded back to a 2022 Denali that the engine failed at 14,000. GM shipped out a new crate engine and have not had any issues since.
It's gambling. I suppose if one auction was giving you lots of bad engines you'd know they have someone with knowledge cherry picking the best and selling the scrap. The industry works on search friction; it takes a fair amount of effort to separate the wheat from the chaff, and that's how you make a living..
Can't this block be used for a re-sleeve? Some of the comments for the LS7 block were noting that you could weld the crack in the block and just replace the sleeves. There may be more value to these blocks than you think. Definitely keep your ebay link on your drop down. It took me a hot minute to find your ebay store.
I’m looking for a core LS3 L92 or bare block or short block. Basically a bottom end without any damage. I have a L92 with 821 heads out of my 2008 Sierra Denali that after nearly 300k the piston come outta the block. I already have the heads redone with upgraded valve springs, valve stems, pushrods and rocker arm trunnions, a new cam shaft, timing gears and chain and I’ve been looking to buy a decent bottom end without buying a remanded core or short block.
From the look of the varnish all over that engine the oil was not changed regularly. It amazes me why someone buys an expensive vehicle like an Escalade then won't spend a few bucks every few months to properly maintain it.

I wish I lived out by St. Louis, I love tearing down engines.
Oem tools kit. Thanks brother. I am going to buy that one
Not sure how I stumbled across this channel, but I've subscribed. I like the content.
"This one... seems to have had a bad day." LOL.
That blocks a perfect candidate for a set of darton MID sleeves :p
From the look of the varnish all over that engine the oil was not changed regularly. It amazes me why someone buys an expensive vehicle like an Escalade then won't spend a few bucks every few months to properly maintain it.
Learned a lot just watching your video. Subscribed and notified.
Great channel, I really enjoy watching.
Subscribed! Yeah, your page is going to explode. AS Matt said, get some merchandise going, you'll be rolling in subs, views and more clients!
So much to figure out, didn’t plan on this kind of reaction!
