These are really great habits from a medical perspective, but the one about steaming your face before applying a clay mask is not accurate. Pores are not muscles, they will not shrink or widen depending on conditions such as steam/ice cubes. Some people have naturally big pores and that’s completely fine, in fact they actually get bigger when we age due to sagging effect . When you have large pores it means there are quite some toxins that your skin is trying to purge out, using a clay mask helps with their appearance that but I suggest talking about it to a dermatologist so he/she can prescribe something that works great for the real issue (if there’s any) and not just their appearance. Quick advice: Stop wearing heavy makeup on a daily basis and pay attention to your diet (reduce/ cut out junk food) so your pores will appear smaller and more importantly healthier!!
Lilit Potter Is your skin naturally oily? My oily skin caused me acne vulgaris and large pores on the way, my dermatologist prescribed Isotretinoin for me which I took for over a year. Now my skin is way less oily and my pores appear to be a lot smaller than before.
Thank you for clarifying, I have been skeptic about the hot and cold opening prose thing but I do believe the steam is good for the skin occasionally like saunas. I don’t wear heavy make up at all really, maybe once or twice a week and I eat really well and drink plenty water. It’s been like this for years, tried all kind of pore treatments and nothing budges them. I just kinda accept it now. x
Isabella Demarko Yes steam is good for the face! And relaxing too ;) It allows the skin to absorb more topical products, perhaps you want to steam your face once a week and then do your facial massage as usual.
I really appreciate the language you use when talking about self-care / grooming habits. how its always first and foremost, for you because its something you enjoy. Also seems like your skin and my skin like the same kinds of products...for clay mask, have you tried Aztec Secret - Healing Indian Clay? its like $12/lb and you can mix with apple cider vinegar for a foaming facial feel. one of my go-to's
never mix it with apple cider vinegar its very intense. it might work for some people but for the majority its really hard on your face esp for sensitive skin
@@bean2275 it is certainly more intense when mixed with the vinegar! everyone's skin is different so, as with everything, always good to modify to your needs. i personally like the extra exfoliation when mixed with vinegar. my skin is very sensitive to chemicals but also prone to clogged pores and build up, so i enjoy this more natural alternative to a peel. always good spot test when trying new products to see how your skin reacts before going all in
hey i had the same issue!!! I have quite sensitive skin too and the only things that seem to work are natural products and the proactive range which is something i never though i would buy! id recommend trying them if you decide you want to take care of your skin! you gotta give it about a month though to rid your face of all the gunk in it :)
Yeah me too !! When I wash my skin it gets so many pimples (and I tried doing so for months and as soon as I stopped, sure my skin wasn’t perfect, but damn I really got less pimples,...
I really like your idea of aging, it’s beautiful ! And by the way, La Roche Posay is a French brand, and we don’t pronounce de E in Roche ;), it’s like « La rosh Posay », but I like the British accent on the prononciation 😍
Interesting how people smoosh their faces when sleeping? I've been a side sleeper since forever and I always corrected myself when I felt my face getting smooshed, even when I'm asleep ill wake up because I hate the feeling so much. I think a cheaper way to prevent wrinkles is to train yourself to correct your position when you feel it happen.
Yes I have done this for years and I believe it works! I would always sleep on the edge of the pillow instead x it’s definitely a good option if the pillow is too expensive !
ahhh isabella the way you take care of yourself is so admirable + inspirational! i have just started becoming passionate about skin care at age 23, and love that you're sharing about it here 💌
If I have a skincare that's too rough for my sensitive face, I use it on my neck, chest, back or even legs in the summer. Gives you the ultimate spa feeling without being to expensive ✨
I'm right there with you with the hat hoarding, and with training myself not to squint when it's sunny out, and i've been trying to sleep on my back too
the sleep thing caught me off guard. there's a video talking about the best position to sleep in, and i'd def advise you that it's usually better to sleep on your right side. i love my skin and wanna give it a chance, but the other health benefits seen for sleep studies based on this video (i'll add to the comments) overpower the need for it, in my opinion. but no matter, LOVE the video and i can't wait to see more of you babe!
In my case I've had a battle with acne going as far back as when I was thirteen and a dark , heavily tanned complexion - not that I mind my skin color , it's the acne that's super annoying .
Thank you for your videos! I love how you make your videos with information from your own experiences or research, and I love just doing my skincare routine or getting ready for bed while listening to your videos :) you make such great content I appreciate the effort you put in
Thank you! Funnily enough I’ve always struggled to like my smile. My lips are uneven and I have unusual teeth. It’s something I’ve been meaning to change. It’s nice to hear you say that xx thank you
hey girlie, I just wanted to say that if you are using an spf, which is great, make sure you are reapplying every 3 hours or so! it's basically useless after about 3 hrs of application
I'm here to vouch for La Roche Posay products. The Effaclar line is great for oily and acne prone skin; I especially like Duo as a breakout treatment, Mat moisturizer and BB Blur for light coverage. Another good dermocosmetic brand is ISDIN: their Fusion Water facial sunscreen is ideal for oily skin and people who sweat profusely. I tried the Anthelios Oil Free first but it felt too heavy.

I use the body shop oils of life eye cream during the day and it's really great. i find that most eye creams are quite heavy/oily but this one is kind of like a gel and absorbs quickly. plus, I have definitely seen a difference in my undereyes since i started using it. it is a bit pricey but you use so little every time that it lasts ages, so in my mind it is worth it. 10/10 would recommend if you like the body shop and are looking for a different eye cream.
Organic clay masks are easy to find. Search for indian healing clay. One pot usually costs about 10 pound, but you can use them many times. You get some powder and mix it with water and aply it. Its easy 100% natural and it works so wel

My grandma did this, too, and now im sharing this with you and your fans
