This Shine On You Crazy Diamond sax solo version Is such a great masterpiece!
I was at this gig 33 years ago. Best band live you will ever see, I will never forget it 🔥
It's amazing that she still had that sound in 1990. 18 years after she recorded on the album.
I was there watching this and its a moment in my life that i will never forget.
Great to see/hear Clare Torry performing this live.
We watched and recorded while stationed at afort Devens Massachusetts. I know a few fellow soldiers who listened to Pink Floyd after seeing this. Fantastic.
I was there. One of the best line ups and gigs I’ve ever seen. It was so windy that Floyd lost the big screen in the centre of the ring. £30 - bargin. I went for Floyd alone. Even Cliff Richard in his Puke Pink suit was entertaining.
I remember watching the Knebworth '90 concert at the time when I was 10 years old on British TV - they featured all the other artist to perform that day, including Eric Clapton, Dire Straits, Page/Plant etc. It was the single reason why I started playing the guitar! My parents bought me a small cheap acoustic for my birthday after this concert and I never looked back
page and plant🤨🤨🤨😱😱😱😱😱👉👉👉❗❗❗❗
LED ZEPPELIN REFERENCE??? 😱😱😱😱😱❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥😥🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
This was on MTV on my 18th Birthday...while everyone else was getting wasted n trying to get laid....I was becoming a life long Floyd fan.
Sorrow. Still one of the outstanding songs done live.
David's guitar playing is so effortless, so melodic, so beautiful, so soulful. He knows how to tell a story. No meaningless or wasted notes, everything played with intent. So much feeling in his playing, this is what makes great guitar players. No one cares how technical you are, or how many scales you can do, or how fast. Do you put a lot of emotion in your guitar and can you easily translate what's going on in your head directly to your fingertips and out the guitar Amp. That's what makes you special.
@ 11:03 - 15:54 - The Great Gig in the Sky...The best female solo wordless vocals recorded in a rock song...
Completely.
Oh the memories, I was there back in 1990, the event was fantastic, I got socked in the rain and the left side of face sunburnt lol Pink Floyd was the reason I brought the tickets and to this day I can still remember how brilliant they were. The rain was so bad that it destroyed their cinema backdrop, but they carried on and I loved every minute. I very special time
I was also there , for the sole purpose of the floyd , memorable day!
I was born in '90. My parents got to see Pink Floyd several times live. (I live in Australia) I never got a chance. Absolutely brilliant
thought id put some timestamps
00:00 - 10:58 - Shine On You Crazy Diamond
11:03 - 15:54 - The Great Gig in the Sky
16:21 - 21:07 - Wish You Were Here
21:11 - 30:41 - Sorrow
30:39 - 40:42 - Money
40:53 - 48:38 - Comfortably Numb
Dogs of War and Run are missing but still thanks. I had recorded the whole Nebworth show back then but lost the tape in one of my many moves. (somebody stole it)
William King did they steal the K as well
good move
This isn’t the full set but good to hear it again
Clare Torry's original performance on DSOTM is just so incredibly strong and emotive that it's difficult to watch her doing it live.
The recording of that song is a singular moment of divine inspiration that renders most live performances of the song to "disappointing" status irrespective of the actual performer's adhesion to the original.
When you have a vocal performance without words and they do multiple takes and splice together the best of those, you are never going to match it live (although Maria Franz of Heilung is the one exception that springs to mind). Heck, how many bands can't even sound anything like their studio albums because the produced, mixed and piled on sound that just can't be done live? Or even singers who just do one song a day because they spend their voice completely on that one song. I remember the band Filter was essentially like that with their debut album Short Bus. It sounded great but he couldn't sing any of it live without losing his voice two songs in so they had "soften" the songs and they totally lost the angst that made them great.
@@tattoodude8946 This. OP's expectations are out of whack. And she did just fine. 😛
Clare Torry and Vickie Brown sang backing vocals on Olivia Newton John albums Clearly Love and Come On Over.
Masterpiece!!!
Thanks for the upload, I was there 33 years ago, one of the best gigs of my life. I saw Floyd live 4 times between 1988 and 1994, but Floyd were the reason I bought a Knebworth ticket, Thirty quid I think, bargain considering who played that day.
FLOYD forever! You cannot escape, no matter how far you go, in order to reach the top you will always have to be back to the ROOTS.
Nick Mason: "We had managed to secure the slot as the last band on, in return for being the first band to commit to the event. Becoming top of the bill did not pay
off. The afternoon was typically English, changing rapidly from sun to rain, but inevitably as our spot came closer the weather took a turn for the worse
and the rain and cold closed in. Closing the show suited us, since in midsummer we wanted the dark, but as time went by and McCartney started playing yet another song the old love and peace sentiment began to fray at the edges. We eventually played in the pouring rain, to a crowd who seemed to enjoy the show, which was fortunate since they could not leave because all traffic was mired in the mud." (Inside Out)
@David and @Richard you must be so impressed with clare after all these years, epic. You are so amazing. (David, my guitar idol, but
love you all.)
WOW ! ❤
I was there ❤
Awesome... out of this freaking world... unique as usual!
A better version for you here Martin , ua-cam.com/video/En7gjQO_slw/v-deo.html
I grew with Q96.5fm and WDIZ in Florida. The Floyd hits were a staple to classic rock radio. I was 13 when A Momentary Lapse of Reason came out. That commercial/promo for Learning to Fly (the B&W short film) captured me. AMLOR was my gateway, and by the end of 1988, I'd have nearly every album on cassette tape. I ordered Obscured by Clouds several times, but the tape broke on first play each time. I was so bummed. Anyhow, I remember waiting for Knebworth 90 like it was Christmas due to Pink Floyd. Thank you for posting this! It's wonderful to be able to go back in time. All the best. Bruce
I was there it rained at the beginning constantly windy day then rained again at the end I had espadrilles on had to walk about a mile through a soggy field to get to the ground was near the back and what you don't see is the hour in between each act as they had their own set ups ( hour and half for Clapton) I can tell you I never forgot that day. 🤪
one of best pink floyd show ever!!! just outstanding!!
after Pompei
❤❤❤
Incredible

32 years ago today I was there.
Lucky bastard ! :) Check out the 4K version on the pinned link, it's even better.
How’s his guitar get so wet? Rain or sweat?
@@chadcorley2702 It was Raining
@@worstxb1playertylerteehc635 that’s dedication right there! Playing in the rain??? It doesn’t get better than that!
@@chadcorley2702 I was there as a 16 year old Floyd Nut. Unfortunately the Rain cut their set rather short and ruined the projector screen too, and If you had been lucky enough to of seen them before this show you could tell bythe body language alone that they were not really happy to even be up there. But I guess they were kind of obligated after the crowd had been there all day listening to some good music, and some truly bad music too. AND the on off rain all day that made it even more impossible to even take the weight off your legs for a few minutes between acts. People were so crammed in there was a point right at the start once everyone had got in where people tried to sit and I literally had my ankles locked in between the four surrounding people who had sat down. And I was literally trapped standing up. At the time it was kind of a disappointing gig from Floyd. But now looking back in hindsight ... It certainly was a part of Rock History and glad I was there. Still have my ticket stubb too.
I was there
Brilliant concert
38:13 my personal fav
I was there that night.
Boom ..boom
Excellent uttely excellent
Thank god I'm alive
brilliant absolutely 💎
Es una obra de arte este en vivo!!
I saw them once, early 90s - too stoned to remember shit!
Amazing!
Man, I love Pink Floyd... and Candy Dulfer was perfect!
Actually although she was good, it was, sad to say, the worst performance of great gig in the sky. Not cutting her down but she didn't fill some of the material.
@@ronlefty candy dulfer was the sax player. The vocal on Great Gig was Claire Tory, who performed the original version on DSOTM.
@@AndyCooper761 omg, duh, I knew that. What was I thinking. Shows ya what old age can n will do to ya. Lol. Anyhew, that version has always been my favorite. If I had to choose a second, I'd say the trio of girls on the Pulse concert.
@@ronlefty Old age? Welcome to my world mate 😂😂. Lots of great versions of Great Gig out there - definitely Pulse. Also love what the Lucius girls did with it on the Roger Waters tours. Also liked the version with male and female singers, on the David Gilmour Pompei gig.
Outstanding, love these guys! Hope to see more of their concert recordings! 🎶
There are another 2 concerts on my channel Thomas if you want to see more Floyd.
Best alive solo on C.NUMB
So good and tasty!!! Al the musicians was like a positive vibrition generators)
🎶
How the fuck did Floyd get Clair Torry to sing live In 1990. They have pulling power for sure.
Big shoulder pads in the 80's
When will David Gilmour ever release his entire 1984 Hammersmith Odeon concert on DVD Blu Ray along the Videos blue light and all lovers are deranged and the 30 minute documentary beyond the Floyd?

Run Like Hell has been removed due to UA-cam copywrite claim. A new FULL 4K version is here ua-cam.com/video/En7gjQO_slw/v-deo.html
So they just released the full show on cd/lp with Run Like Hell, but still left of Dogs of War.
What’s the last song? How can it be the full concert without it?
You could always try reading, ie, the post that says Run Like Hell has been removed due to copyright and here is a link to a new 4K version. The link to the 4K version is stickier, it's not really hard to find.
@@Austech you could always try not being a dick but I guess that’s too hard for some
@@dukecitymusicfestenthusias3523 in (almost) your own words" You could always try reading but I guess that's too hard for some".
Do you know how many people I get complaining when all they have to do is read ? Complaints gets really annoying when I spend hours of my time improving music videos for the benefit of others. I don't get paid for it, hence I can't be f#cked listening to complaints.
My suggestion would be to enjoy the 4K version here ua-cam.com/video/En7gjQO_slw/v-deo.html which is suggested instead of this one in numerous places including the description, where the copyright holders haven't removed anything (and it's up them if they do, NOT me)
And to think Roger Waters pretty much said/ hoped they would not make it without him.. While he was good he was all about him... Roger, there is no "I" in Group or Band. They have continued to perform exceptionally well without Roger.
...y el final run like hell ??
is it Michael Kamen on keyboards?
IT'S RICHARD WRIGHT
And Jon Carin.
I think the great gig was a little out of Clare's reach - Still can't beat the original from DSOTM...
She was the original. On Dark Side of the Moon.
Este intro de shine. Es La más apegada a la verdadera
12:32 everyone looking - is she ok? hahah
im surprised a white girl can sing like that
Why ? She sang that part on the original album in 73.
Racist
Worst live performance of Great Gig in the Sky. Of course, Claire is 20 years older and father time wasn't very kind to her voice.
unfortunately the previous live version from the Delicate sound ...video was possibly the best...i remember at the time my aunt and Uncle were big fans of this song, esp that live version....again this version was pretty sad
oh aunt carol and uncle bob hated this version of great gig..
Rubbish. You know nothing about music.
Rubbish , We all get older & i would love to hear any complainer sing it as she did then & now.
Uhhh..,50 yrs older.
