Who would've thought we'd come all the way from "oh my God not this guy" to "good job, Richie". Also you gotta remember, Richie used to work FOH at The Beef, which was a tiny spot with a million people ordering a million things all at once, and he did it with pen and paper and a lot of yelling. Everything went to shit, it was absolute chaos, and Richie had to wing it, which is basically what he used to do every day at The Beef. That's why he didn't crumble.

Great callback to Carmy yelling "Open the door!", which is what Michael was yelling to his mom when she crashed the car into the house. And Ritchie calling Carm "Donna", yikes. Great writing, how the writers brought all these threads to a head in this finale.

Its a rough ending to a stressful season, but I appreciate how the writing follows through with it's levels of realism. The night was a technical success but everything doesn't get happily ever after wrapped up in a bow with everyone happy and loving each other. It just doesn't happen like that, ever.

About the expo table being situated the way it was at first: in 1x02 when the episode opens as a flashback with Carmy working at Empire in NYC, he's doing expo with his back turned to the kitchen. It took Richie's transformative experience at staging/trailing at Ever for him to 'right the ship' aka turn the table around to face the kitchen instead. Also Carmy had to be locked away so something like that could take place without interference lol

That's fair but I still have no idea why they would do that in any kitchen. Every kitchen I have worked in the expo is facing the team. I have seen videos of other kitchens do what Carmy and them did but I don't think works well and it creates a weird distance from the expo to the rest of the team. - Cam

This was NOT the time to tell Nat about her mom. He can tell her when they get home and he has gained some composure. It is not unreasonable to think she had already told her mother she was having a baby. He didn't do anything wrong.

Definitely not the time but I do believe he needs to tell her eventually. - Cam

@@ChannelSee1 Hopefully when they get home. But I think it was for the best that Donna didn't come in. She is too unpredictable.

Carmen was triggered by a guy that looked like his abusive ex boss, NOT 7 fishes

Pete was trying to protect Sugar from the chaos that Donna brings. Hard spot for him to be in but I get what yall are saying lol

Carmy definitely was too harsh on Richie, but Richie calling him Donna was a trigger, and you can see it on Richie's face that he knew he shouldn't have said that; I get both sides. I also feel really bad for Claire, because she probably thought everything was going well in their relationship. It would really hurt to hear all of that out of the blue. It's unfortunate, but Carmy wasn't intending for her to hear that In that way. If Claire never heard all of that, I would have liked to see how Carmy would have handled breaking up with her. I have a feeling he wouldn't handle it well considering the decisions he's made so far lol. But it's just unfortunate. Carmy definitely needs therapy for many different reasons.

WHAT! Carmy wasn't even talking to Claire. He was clearly having a meltdown. If she can't see that, then maybe she is not ready for a relationship with him. She abandoned him! She left her man locked in a freezer. How about getting him out and holding him. Everything is not about Claire. She does not know him. I would not apologize.

I agree. She seemed super worried before, when she's talking to the Faks, but then she leaves crying, not even bothering to introduce herself, so that Carmy can know that she's there. She just says she's sorry he feels that way.

I kind of agree. In that moment, she probably felt betrayed, but if she would have taken a second to look at the situation, she would have realized that he's literally having a breakdown. She should have waited for him and talked things through. I think she had every right to break up with him, because I don't think Carmy is ready to juggle a relationship and this career yet, but it was unfair for her to just walk out like that. He had no idea she was there.
