I agree totally!!! He has our program in the right direction!!! It cracks me up how college football goes in spurts, because delusional Michigan fans, wanted to fire Harbough literally, and he wins 2 years in a row and now they are the most annoying and shit talking fans in the country!!! Franklin did what Harbough is doing now, just early in his career!!! And, James actually beat Urban Meyer to win the big ten championship, not Ryan Day, Harbough got blown out every time against Urban Meyer!!! As far as recruiting and talent and depth James Franklin is building something special, and it will be well worth the wait Nittany nation!!! WE ARE 🏈 Unrivaled

Excellent interview! I was never down on JF like many other fans, but this interview just cemented my respect for who he is as a person and professional. PSU is blessed to have him. Most importantly, I'm happy that Josh has kept beating the drum so fans (including me) would realize that JF has had to do more with less every season on the job. If top 10 finishes and top 12 recruiting classes is what he can do without the necessary resources, I'm so happy to hear that help is finally on the way! The sky is the limit in Happy Valley!

Good morning Josh. Great interview and great podcast as always. I’m old enough to remember that the best era of Penn State football was from 1978-1986 where they play in the “National Title” game 4 times in 9 seasons and won 2. 3 yards and a cloud of dust but shockingly the 1982 team was the first ever champion to pass for more yards than they rushed for. My bias says they were also the best team at the end of the 1981 season and beat Marcus Allen/USC in the Fiesta Bowl. Certainly the flexibility as an independent allowed them all those national championship opportunities. Those were also the days when many of the most watched college football games in ratings history involved Penn State. Penn State has certainly slipped and fallen behind in popularity to Mich and Ohio State after joining the B1G and of course maybe the scandal hurt. BTW, do you have the guts to do an extensive interview John Ziegler about the Sandusky situation?

However, Franklin has only managed to win a single conference title, and even then he still had two losses that season. He's a perpetual 9-3 or 10-2 coach.
