- Check out the announcement trailer for The Lords of the Fallen, which was showcased during gamescom Opening Night Live 2022. The game is coming to PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X and S.
The Lords of the Fallen takes place more than a thousand years after the events of the first game. Embark on an all-new adventure in a vast, interconnected world, more than five times larger than the original game. The Lords of the Fallen is filled with NPC quests, compelling characters, and rich narrative where players will need to create their own hero before tackling the single player campaign. They will also have the option to invite a second player to join their adventure in uninterrupted online co-op.

Does anyone else keep coming back to watch this over and over again? The way they blend the music with the trailer scene is so perfect.
This is my 4th watching today 😅
Yes. Also next one with Iron Maiden music. They should make a movie not a game
@@blebleh666 tbh if they’ve made a movie with this type of cgi, they’ll need a lot of investment on the team making these, I’ll say if it was a Tv-show, for 1 episodes that looks like this, for just that 1 episodes it’ll cause 100,000$ cause the cgi team time and effort spent on this, will probably be released 2 years from now

The poster should be changed, it looks a lot like Sauton from Lord of the Rings, but it seems that this relationship also wants to sell the game.
It’ll not succeed, because only video game consoles are able to render those images, not dvd player or blu-ray player

the way the music stops and starts up as the knight gets revived is just badass
The urge to just fight against an onslaught of horrific creatures beyond comprehension till the inevitable sweet release of death, just to then be forcefully brought back. Then, in a shock and sudden realization of what has just happened, coming back to your senses and continue fighting as if nothing happened in the first place is what I get after watching this trailer. 10/10

There is no one alive who knows the "correct" way to use medieval weaponry.
@@Herodotus888 yes there is. People write things down, and there is so, so many manuals on the correct use of medieval weaponry.
@@Herodotus888 tf??? dude go do some research on swordsmanship, if what you said is true then how tf do we have kendo-kenjutsu-sword masters-etc????
@@Didierpelupessy European Martial Arts manuals are not sufficient to truly understand how European medieval weapons were actually used. We don't have an unbroken line of European martial arts masters like in the Eastern martial arts. Once guns came around people stopped practicing. There use also likely would have varied by region. HEMA, while very interesting and worth exploring, includes a lot of speculation. Even HEMA experts will tell you this. My comment may have come off as too harsh, games obviously use weapons in very incorrect ways quite often.
@@y3llowpersuasionz18 Those are Eastern martial arts. I should clarify I was speaking of European martial arts. There are Eastern martial arts dojos that have passed down their style for thousands of years with a documented line of succession. In Europe people just stopped fighting with swords altogether once guns came around.
The Danzig volume fade and pick up pushed this over the top. Great trailer.

Yeah, some of those sword were used to cut into Pikemanformations. I don't want to know what a heavy sword like that does to my body. The weight alone promises a brutal impact...
Half Swording is extremely under rated in most games, people believe great swords were heavy and unwieldly, when in reality they were often more effective than other swords and even more flexible in combat thanks to the length advantage and the ability to half sword.

Remember that trailers are not indicators of how the game will be, rather they are just made to get you to buy the product
The halfswording sequence is pure art
It makes no sense. Why halfsword, in that situation?
@Saltee No, that still doesn't make sense. Also, if that'd be true, why didn't he halfsword, when he "attacked" (with an "attack" that was miles away from the target, and would never have hit …all the while turning his back to it, leaving himself completely exposed. There are situations where it's okay to turn your back to the enemy, because of things that lets you do so safely. That is not the case, here) the even more powerful flying beast.
@Saltee The beast didn't *_suddenly_* swipe over him. It's path towards him, was obvious from far away, in both time and distance. He was not caught off guard, but had plenty of time to react (and to halfsword, if he felt the need) …and *_no, he didn't JUMP out of the way!_* He faintly leaned away, an inch or two, and turned around (exposing his vulnerable back, as well as blinding himself to the beasts actions) and swung with an "attack" that was miles away from the beast. The beast also snapped his head at him, but too far away to have so much as scratched him, even if he hadn't leaned away.
Also, he only halfswords a bit, initially, against the guy, and then switches to regular grip. Did his opponent suddenly get weaker?
@Saltee The issue here, is that the OP and you are praising the swordsmanship as great and historically accurate …even though it is actually, obviously, just plain preposterous.
Just including halfswording, doesn't automatically make it good or accurate, and to think it does, is foolish and demonstrative of a complete ignorance of swordsmanship.
Sure, you can say that an acknowledgement of the possibility of halfswording (which this isn't the first/only game, to do, though it is still rare, and nice to see), is a clear improvement.
That is a perfectly valid point.
…but that it a *_completely different thing,_* to praising the swordsmanship as brilliant/accurate, *_which is what you've actually done,_* and I've pointed out as wrong.
Also, the fact that some games have started to depict swords, that actually look like swords, is also nice
…but is even more unrelated, to the issue of praising this preposterous swordsmanship as great/accurate.

@@lordlightning2339 I'm not sure if you deleted your replies or I can't see them due to something on my end, but I'll respond either way. At the risk of sounding like a pedant, Neoclassicism was actually a reaction to Late Baroque/Rococo in that it returned to the relative minimalism, proportions, and symmetry of Renaissance Classicism and, ultimately, the Classical Greek and Roman styles on which it was based. It followed Baroque rather than preceded it.
