Fancy seeing you here! That said, I think british or similar classic look bikes are more Freddies style but then again as long as I have been watching his content he has always driven that Bonneville of his so maybe I am just so used to it that I cannot see him driving anything else. 😁
I loved my Road King Classic. Rode it for 17 years all over Europe. Very very comfortable. I traded it in a couple of years ago for a Bonneville T120. I love my Bonneville. The moral is, bikes are great when you are open to appreciate them.

I own a 2019 HD Fat Boy and a 2001 Honda CBR1100XX. 2 completely different bikes. The Honda I use for going to the grocery / supermarket and doing errands with the occasional longer ride, mostly highway. The Harley I use when the sun is shining for longer scenic rides through the country side. Just love it. Each time I ride the Harley it feels special.
I have a 2021 sport glide and have been riding it for six months and absolutely love it. It feels like a lighter bike and handles beautifully. So easy to flick and just loves the twisties. I’m sure it’s not a Bonneville but it feels so secure on the road, it is a personal friend. I am a retired surgeon and appreciate the exquisite detail in its construction. It is certainly adequate in power. I think the Europeans understand the necessity for emissions controls and have more reasonable power expectations. Here in America no one is happy unless they have more horsepower than anyone needs, I especially loved your grocery shopping from helmet to pannier. No paper bags. So climate friendly . Keep up the great work.
I have owned 6 Harleys and my response to the Harley haters is to ask them which models they have ridden. They usually don’t have an answer to that 😀

Having owned 4 HDs since the mid 70s, they are addictive to ride. Sold my last of a little over a year ago and never stop looking for the next one. I can stare at their motors for hours, splendid machinery.
Bought my 1st SG in 2020, sold it like an idiot and missed it so much got another one 2 months ago. Absolutely love it and don't give a damn what anyone else thinks, I've got one and they haven't. 😊

I own a 22 Harley Davidson Heritage Classic and will say that the Harley's carry their weight down low so its not horrible to maneuver. Plus the weight helps here in the states with wind gusts from the trucks or what have you. Great to see you on a Harley Freddie.👍

What makes Harleys special is the way they make you FEEL whenever you ride them.
Its a feeling no other bike can give you and I've owned a lot of high end bikes, but theres nothing like a Harley Davidson.

The "Thump" of the Twin Cam engine is great. Al of that is gone on the new M8's. They sound like Hondas.
My 22 heritage sounds nothing like a Honda, it has the 114 M8 and stock pipes and a growl like no other. It wistles a bit because of the open air cleaner but all in all it definitely sounds like a Harley Davidson. It rides as smooth as a Honda due to the new frame and mono shock, but make no mistake when you crack the throttle that 120ftlbs of torque is all Harley Davidson.

I have a '21 in the white. I'm in the US. I have also spent a few thousand on bling and a slip-on that is loud. I love it. But my first love is my Triumph Street Triple 765R.
Lots of other brand bikes are 18k+ bmw/Ducati but to name 2.

I have one: gauntlet grey (a bit darker...) with stage 1 and rinehart exhaust and mistang seat. I like the small fairing.....I love this bike. I still like my wife's bonneville too!!!! But the harley is so cool.... lots of torque, lots of fun.....
Every Harley owner I ever see is in their 50s or 60s, even older. I always assumed they are people who have had Harleys all their lives, or just that it's only when you reach that age that you might have the money and the garage space to have one. Used to see some beauties at the annual Bristol bike show - if it ever happens again.

I traded a Ducati 1299s against a Softail Slim, best decision I’ve made for a while, the panigale belongs on a race track but it’s too expensive to throw down the track. The Harley is ideal for road riding and gives me a massive smile whenever I ride it

I had a sportglide for a year or so traded a speed twin in for it and loved both very much.now on a street glide which I traded a thunderbird for...👍👍
It's going to be fascinating Freddie to hear how you get on with the Sport Glide, especially the weight (317kgs), forward foot pegs, minimum ground clearance and the tiny pillion seat. I can see the attraction but is it practical on English roads? Over to you Maestro!
I've never understood the harley-hate brigade. I'm fortunate enough to have more than 1 bike and have both a Bonnie T120 and a Harley in my collection - I adore both of them for the different riding experience and emotions they provide. Ultimately, they are not mutually exclusive.
Brill bikes - had great time on my Sport Glide, which was my first Harley. Good performance, very adequate ground clearance and very comfortable on long journeys. Only reason for changing was the weight when fully loaded with the missis, myself and luggage. Enjoy the bike!
You didn’t mention my “Tractor” comment Freddie 😂. I was only teasing though. I have ridden a few Harleys and they are surprisingly easy to ride despite the weight. I have even ridden a big Heritage Springer through an obstacle course with see saws, ramp and slalom and it handled it. This one looks stylish even with the batwing nose fairing. However, it hasn’t got the distinctive Harley potato potato sound for some reason and only 83 hp on a 1700cc bike is the reason they get slated.
Spot on Monica, they're expensive, they don't handle and those who ride them are just try hards, living their best Sons of Anarchy life.
Taking the front fairing off really improves the look. For long distance I’d whack it back on. Otherwise I’d keep it off.

I have a 2019 Sport Glide. I’ve loved the motorcycle since I first rode it. Several mods later, I couldn’t ask for anything more. I catch a little Hell, but it is mine.

Off topic, your voice was made for videos. You have a great pace, eloquence, and enthusiasm, which makes watching these videos great.
I've been riding and wrenching on Harley's since the 80's. I have one of my EVO's that I built out to 115ci which I rebuilt after 90K. I think the EVO's where probably the best engine Harley produced the newer M8's have a lot of plastic engine parts on them and if you are planning on keeping your bike as long as I do these are going to need to be addressed. But if you are just going to ride the bike until the warranty is up then there is no need to do any modifications. Another thing about Harley is their warranty... any modifications to your bike will void the warranty so no slip-ons, no air cleaner mods unless it's a Harley Davidson part and it's installed by their mechanics which is going to cost you... let's just say a lot of money. Nothing is cheap on a Harley as with many of the other manufactures. But the one thing I will say about Harley is they are fabulous for long distance riding that is after you change out the factory seat... LOL
I just subbed Freddie. I’m Texan, currently 104 degrees here. Heat index 112 or so. I have a 2002 Fatboy. It’s to hot presently to ride as it feels like a convention oven out. Man I love your bike especially without the front fairing.
The Harley Davidson where I live, is known to be a pose bike. They only get out in good weather, the riders are often haughty, contemptuous and the price doesn't match the performance. I'm not saying that it's a bad bike, just NOT the image that I want to project to my neighbours.
And that silly headlight cover can stay off!
A lovely looking bike. I look forward to your cornwall trip: A trip I've done many times: Take waterproofs! I really liked your spontaneous (presumably) interaction with Monica; I think that really worked and maybe you should consider including more of that. It just added an extra warmth to your already relaxed, semi-intimate, delivery style.
I have one and love it. But seriously it is a very versatile bike. If you add a removable rack to it as well you have serious luggage capacity. Then if you want the stripped down look everything comes off. It’s true they are expensive but they also hold their value well.
Harleys are expensive, but so are BMWs, Ducatis, Indians, and even some Triumphs. I think the Harley touring bikes are in the same price range as BMW touring bikes. I've never been a big fan of Harleys, but after seeing your Sport Glide, I did go online to see what was available. It's a very pretty bike.
I’ve just gone from a sports bike to a Diavel and absolutely love it. On the Harley thing, I tend to find it’s Harley owners who tend to see themselves as a separate community and rarely will they put there hand up and acknowledge other bikers, so it seems to me they are the issue. I like the bikes, although they are obviously more suited to American roads. You need to try a Diavel Freddie, cruiser comfort with sports bike performance. 😊

I’m no biker and I’ve never ridden a motorcycle in my life…but to me that is one beautiful bike. Yes it’s expensive but you could ride it anywhere on the planet for years. If you do get into biking then have a look at the Royal Enfield Meteor 350. Not too expensive and easy to start riding on it.

A friend of mine, who is fairly well heeled, bought a new Fat Boy, but within a few months he had had so many problems, he dumped it for big Honda ST 1300 which he is still riding some years later, because it is bullet proof, with Honda reliability. I had never rated the cruiser experience personally, but thought I should add one to the stable for variety. It only stayed a couple of years because I like to do longer rides. It handled like a turd at low speeds and the feet forward ergos meant you couldn't stand up and give your bum a rest without stopping and getting off. I guess they're OK for those who like to do shorter hops to the cafe etc., but if you have some ground to cover, give me something with your feet positioned beneath your seat and a relatively upright riding position that doesn't put all your weight on your wrists.
At least when it was first around, I think the Fat Boy was this ultimate 'winebar-to-winebar' cruiser but recently Harley styling changes seem to have diluted the purity of that original design. In contrast, I think the Honda STs are probably the sportiest touring bikes you can get, which is why many policemen love to ride them.
Within the H-D Softail range, I think the Heritage Classic is actually the best touring option but the full on (and now very expensive) Touring Models like 'Glides and Road Kings can be better for long motorway journeys. Sometimes the latter are a necessary evil within a motorcycle tour.
I did a lot of touring on a '90 FXRT but eventually replaced that with a BMW R1150RT.
I avoided the BMW GS for years because of it's polarising effect. Then when I realised that all the other bikes I chose instead never came close, I tbought sod it! I'm on my 3rd now. Same with the Harley. If I had deep pockets and a big garage I'd definitely have one.
Looks great but try flipping the mirrors upside down and removing the saddle bags too! It’ll look even sharper…nice ride man 🤙🏻
theres never been a bike suit you more freddie 😁🤘 , we recently brought ours down in the van to explore all the coastal river creeks and marinas and cafes in essex/suffolk , weather were hot and parking not a problem when you are on a bike , keep up with the fantastic videos 👍

Very nice-looking bike. Love the small fairing, then you take it off moments later. Looks better with it. Good panniers. Not too heavy. Cheaper than I thought. Great first song. I wouldn't be put off by other motorcyclists' reactions. My main 'bike' in Europe now is a trike, and I couldn't give a damn what people think.

I owned a Sport Glide. I bought it when it was first released in 2018 without test riding. Never loved it. I could tell you about it, but better you form your own impression. Traded it in for a different Harley model after eighteen months. People that “hate” Harley Davidson mirror my irrational hatred of Royal Enfield, but like me with Royal Enfield most have never ridden a Harley, or they have never spent more than a short test ride on one. Harley’s are well made, fun to ride, very addictive to customize, have a great social life around them, and no more expensive to run than a BMW motorcycle based on my own experience. The new Harley prices have become ridiculous recently, but they hold their second hand value extremely well.
i’ve owned a sport glide, handles so well, the new soft tail platform is fantastic, i now have a low rider ST which is on another level, love your work
WOW! That video, the scenery! That music! You are in love ! And so you should be because I have one since 2018 and I am going to let you in on a secret..... you're going to love it more and more with every ride. It's such a surprise that HD has stopped the Sport Glide production in the US because honestly it's their best bike in years! It's the best of 2 worlds. And yes, I also took off the faring as soon as I brought it home and never put it back on. I accessorized it over the 1st 3 years and so it no longer looks much like the first day. You have to put your personal signature on it. But no matter what, it's a gorgeous bike that is sporty enough for everyday Los Angeles traffic while a perfectly powerful touring bike for cross country rides too. Over the years and many roads travelled, it has never let me down once. Well worth the investment and ignore those who say anything negative about HD. They're in a class of their own.
As I said, you'll get to love it more and more as time goes on. Enjoy the ride!
I’ve ridden 3 Harleys none were mine but I loved the instant torque like riding a bull elephant on a charge, it is addictive.
It's the "thunder", the engaging feel (most bikes are engaging inherently compared to a car, maybe besides a moped) at any speed, they might feel heftier than most, a bit more brut nut that's what adds to the Harley experience. and they've been refining it for decades now, so it's a modern bike with character.
That one looks stunning mate, it's the kind of bike you want to spent as much time looking at it on the garage admiring it and yearning to ride as much riding it anywhere because of anything.

As a former Harley rider and former HD dealer sales person, the problem is not the price.....it is the lack of technology for the price. At that price it should have Skyhook semi active suspension, dual front disc brakes, cornering abs and more. Yes, the feel and ride of truly heavy bike is different and unique to Harley. But HD needs to deliver more value for the money when it comes to delivering up to date technology.
If anything, by hiring executives from urban sportswear firms like Puma and Nike, H-D plans to survive by attracting buyers with premium brand chachet achieved more by marketing than by sales volume or product features.
I know that lots of people don’t like Harleys, having ridden a few I certainly wouldn’t own one, but if the rider loves it, that’s all that matters. It definitely looked better without the fairing.
I have a 19 sport glide, best Harley I've ever rode , from power to the weight of the motorcycle, to touring, the whole package
I like the front cowl and the panniers are very streamline plus you can remove both when not touring.
As far as Americana goes, Starbucks has a West Coast feel, not the kind of idea I get with a Harley.

What a lovely bike! I have no idea how anyone can dislike these bikes. It looks better without the fairing on, but it's great to have for the longer trips. It will make motorway miles a lot more pleasurable thats for sure!
I love my Harley. I have a Breakout and I can honestly say I have smiles for miles. I used to ride sports bikes and decided to test ride a Harley. So comfortable, and the torque is neck-snappingly good! When parked up, it gets so much attention. Harley gets a bad rep due to 70's / 80's unreliability, but honestly, it's never let me down. People also don't like Harley's because some people either can't afford one or can't understand why people would pay such high prices for one. All I'll say is ... test ride one and you'll understand why. 😉
I like all bikes in principle. I owned and ridden many Harleys, amongst other makes. I cannot see myself ever wanting to own a 'race replica' or a motocross bike but I have no issues with others doing so.
I own one of these, they are great Bikes, very versatile. I added floor boards which makes the ride so comfortable. The fairing is always a very polarising topic. I've installed an FXRT fairing which has much better wind protection for freeway and long rides.
Being a Harley owner i of course love them too. They seem to turn heads like no other bike (along with Indian's perhaps). However, I wonder some times how suited they are to British roads compared to say the beautiful Triumph range of bikes (the T100 being my favourite). Thanks guys.

I have been riding bikes since I was 16, now 69! I have ridden dozens of different makes of bike and have loved them all for what they are. I built a ground up Harley chopper and have owned 3 others, but my true allegiance is now to my Moto Guzzis. I have 3, a Convert, a T3 California, and an Ambassador,.all are tax free, sound wonderful and have that something that stirs the soul. They are super easy to work on, spares are easily available (they are 40/50 years old!) and are so full of character. Look em up. But, every time I hear a Harley rumble past I have to look. That sound is music to my ears. All the nonsense spouted about them is usually from people who have never ridden one. And you will probably find that most are ridden more often than many other bikes, even though nay sayers would have you believe otherwise. I live in Cornwall and never a day goes by without several passing my house, there are loads down here. I h it ate the negativity that surrounds them and there owners that some show, it is so juvenile. Motorbikes are a wonderful creation - all of them! Your channel is one of the best on UA-cam! ps. I also ride a Honda NC 750x DCT, you need thick skin to ride one of thes too!!!!

Be a pretty boring world if we all liked the same thing. Like you though, I love my Guzzi. I haven’t had the privilege of riding a Harley, but I prefer the Sportster style. I’d love a 48 but they’re just too expensive.
I like Harleys for what they are. I'm from the States, so a point of view from the other side of the pond. I've considered Harleys in the past and have always went with other brands. Partly because the cruiser style doesn't fit my overall needs and most are cruisers. More importantly Harley dealers add about 3 times the dealer fees of most other brands. I feel the quality is good for the msrp, but not after adding the fees. You do get a certain ego boost riding a Harley 😂.
Some day I wouldn't mind having a Road King for interstate and highway mile munching and would gladly buy used. Before that, I`d probably buy a Moto Guzzi Eldorado or simular if I found one though. Just a bike I've always wanted to try for a while.

Harleys are way too expensive and they trigger anyone who doesn't own one, but they are beautiful to look at and fun to ride. I've loved the ones I've owned.

I became a Harley person after riding one. I prefer this bike with the fairing. Not a fan of baggers but I am a fan of this one.
Harleys not really my thing, but do like this, especially like how clean and uncluttered the bars/clocks look.

Handsome bike and amazing color, the fairing and pannnier goes well together, think the designers decided to add the fairing because the front looks naked with the panniers.
I have a Sport Glide too and I'm totally in love. I started with a Forty Eight Special, then a Fat Boy Special (my big mistake) and since one year and a half the magnificent Sport Glide, in my opinion, the perfect bike.
You're going to enjoy riding your Harley more than any other bike. Keep the Bonneville, you need a contrasting bike to remind you how much you like riding the Harley.
The front end of this bike including the triple trees and head light look great without the fairing.
People who don’t like them have usually not ridden them. I was a hater, until I rode one. . .Now I understand. I would never own one though, as I’m still in love with my Triumph T120 Bonnie.
Nice bike. looks nicer without the front fairing. When you are riding the bike I don't want to hear music I just want to hear the engine and exhaust note of the bike.

For me i love the look of some Harley's especially the Sportster S or the Nightster Special. For me where i live in the states (Kentucky) its the people that ride Harley's that i don't want to be associated with.
Liking the colour - tank looks on the small side, be interesting to see how many fuel stops you need on the way to Cornwall.

There is something special with any HD…
Worked for the Company and drove nearly anything from Flathead to TwinCam and now own a 2004 Sportster 1200C and really love these bikes…
Sadly the typical HD customer here in Germany is someone who wants to show of that he has made it or is a member of one of this well known MC…
Normal motorcyclist who just love to ride these great machines are a minority…😢

A Sportster is a perfect doing all going anywhere everyday bike, that can commute as well as doing two up touring …
They aren’t perfect in anyway, but the sum how you could use these bike with there great low end torque makes them a great choice for any rider who isn’t searching for lap times on a racetrack.
Freddie good Sunday morning to ya . I was born and raised in Harley country, Milwaukee, Wi. I have seen every variation yet I have never ridden one. They always seem to be just out of reach for my budget. I could never justify the cost of a new one and would never buy an old leaky one. They're reputation has changed a lot over the years, from biker gang transport to yuppie status symbol. They definitely are works of art with a great historical story but they have continued to stay out of reach for me to own. Enjoy your time with this one for all it's worth .

Appreciating the Harley content. I always enjoy these ones, other bikes too.. but as Harley riders these videos will be a treat for us. The bike looks better without the fairing, but on a practical note, I think you'd appreciate the fairing on a longer journey. Then whip it off the bike for shorter trips
hell yeah been hanging out for this video. enjoy the two weeks with this lovely bike. Harleys arent my taste but as with every bike I can always appreciate a nice bike regardless if it fits my taste. If I had the money, id probably get myself a beefy harleys.
I have had a few. Something special about owning one. But on uk Roads and weather just not practical for me. If I had the money and time it would be my second bike for sunny days and trips abroad. Love the whole Harley thing.
The fact that Harley-Davidson bikes are so expensive keep all the yobbos out of the market. 🤣 I bought a Sport Glide, then added another AUS$10,000 of after-market parts, plus had her custom painted. Then rode 20,000 km around Australia. Such a brilliant bike.
The sportgilde does nearly £22.000 in Holland!! I bought 1 new in ‘21 but sold it after 4 months. First there was a lot of rustwater coming out of the 2 hokes in the backbone left and right. Also there was “stick slip” in the front fork. It needs to dissembled and new seals. Finally it was to small for me and get al lot of back strain, with my ft6,3
Former Harley owner here. I think the comments you read show the problem of the Harley community itself. Huge egos.
Knowing dozens of bikers of this sort I can say: they absolutely need something like a Harley to fill up their personality to feel like a „real“ man.
Besides that there are a lot of awesome people in the community to. But they don’t make so much noise 😉
