The Bulova Marine Star, with the precisionist movement, in blue is a budget TAG Heuer Aquaracer IMO and can be had for under $400 if you shop around. A personal favorite!
Thank you for this, I don’t really know how many people are left in the category of people who can afford a Rolex or Omega anymore (or who are willing to spend that kind of money on a watch if they do have it).
Most of the people I know could afford an omega, if they quit paying for sports subscription, let their ego go along with their $750 a month lease flex car, learn to cook, and stop paying for gym membership they don't use.
@ yes lots of people can buy an Omega if they make sacrifices elsewhere in their lives. But the level of that sacrifice relative to income has grown significantly over the last several years. And it has grown to a point where more and more people will choose not to spend such a large chunk of their money on a watch. That’s just my opinion. I bought Omega and Rolex watches in the past , but will not consider buying a $7-10K watch today. It’s not a reasonable outlay for what the product provides me. The spell is broken for me, so to speak, and I think I’m probably not alone in this.
Bulova Surveyor automatic, Citizen small seconds Hamilton jazzmaster- to get. Have - Tissot Le loche automatic. Just bought a Mido automatic. And way too many in the $100 to $300 range. You gave lots of good ideas! Thanks, Chris!
I love shopping for used Farer's. The quality is insane, but because they're relatively unknown, I get them fairly regularly around $500. My favorite watch out of my entire collection is a Lander Midnight GMT I got for $500 on the dot.
Please include the legendary Glycine Airman in your lists. This is a great watch with an outstanding movement and tremendous history. Please consider these great pieces.
Great video and excellent selections, to which I would add Bulova's Surveyor Automatic in the >$500 category. Cool case design, wearable size, some good colors, and reliable Miyota movements. The pistachio dial looks fantastic in the metal.
Great that you are addressing the affordable sector of the market Chris; can't appreciate that enough. However, where were the microbrands? This list, while all perfectly good and reasonable watches, was kind of disappointingly predictable. The real challenge these days is finding cool, original design watches in this category, that aren't from the same old big manufacturers. That's what I'd love to have seen...
I stumbled across Nivada Grenchen Chronoking other day, £500 and comes with 4 other colour way world time bezels that you can change 🤯 Quartz movement but still 👏🏻
very good review for beginners. as you stated you’ll cover more brands as there are many including the comments in their respective ranges. keep up the good work Chris!
I have gone into watch collection fever year ago.I am budget colector at the moment My first three watches are Casio A168 gold, Red Orient Kamasu which I put on jubilee and Citizen Zenshin Chrono Panda.Need to buy Seiko Alpinist this year and I will be happy. One day maybe some Tudor I hope....
I really like the new series! I'm a fan of Mark Frankel's Islander Brand--Very well-made watches for very good prices, and really exceptional before and after-sale customer service on everything at Long Island Watch. One thing though, comparing a quartz movement to a 36,000 bph automatic movement with an 80 hour power reserve is really over the top in my book!
I know you mentioned a lot of Timex but here's one more great one. $200 range- Timex Expedition Field Solar 41mm Stainless Steel Bracelet Watch. It's my current GADA.
@Horizontalvertigo @Horizontalvertigo I buy them on sale so, based on that, from $40 to $300+, I find them to be excellent value. I own probably 25 or more. I love the brand
Up to $150 it's Casio or Ali brands like Baltany or Proxima, any Timex can't give you that Proxima gives for the same price. $150-$500 it's Seiko, Citizen or some micro brand like Wise, Dan Henry, Baltic, Lorier, etc
And they act like authorized dealers on their crap sometimes. Remind me of Rolex in some ways… “Call us for availability” *calls* “We don’t have that item I’ll put you on a list” *hangs up before getting my information* 🙄🙄🙄🙄 Buncha Jews. Literally.
Orient Kamasu costs 490 Euros retale !!! and may be found for 300 Euros on some web sides. I doubt it should be in 200 bucks category, it seems kinda wrong
That looked like an advertisement for Timex, Citizen, Bulova, watches that no body wants. Should have been at least one Zelos, RZE, and other micros in the $500 or less range.
Chris finally making a video for us mere mortals 😂
😎👍
🫡 say it again, brother, these 500$ to 1000$ watches are far from the budget 💀
You nailed your number one pick with the Duro. Can’t beat the value of this watch and the performance.

Very excited to see the next price range covered: $500-1,000. So much goodness there.
Vaer would be my recommendation for a field or dive watch under $200.
D1 Milano also makes very unique integrated bracelet watches for under $200.
Shame the Seiko 5 field GMT didn't make the cut, solid little ticker, I esp. like the JDM "Polar" model

@@markjones1337 nice to know wealthy people I guess.
To paraphrase Yogi Berra, nobody’s buying Rolexes anymote. There’s too long a wait.
@Area_man115 but their sales figures haven't dropped, so, still over a million people are buying rolexs each year.
Baltic, Dan Henry, Kuoe, Praesidius, Vaer. Traska even perhaps.
Chris how about a segment where you rate viewers' collections?
Great selection of affordable watches.
I like the Tissot PRX and Seastar, and many Casio watches, especially G-Shock models.
Love Islander!

G-Shock FTW 😎

Its $500 but the 36.5mm Traska Commuter is as close as it comes to the 'perfect watch". Thanks Chris.
I have that Casio + the Timex Q, great watches!

Love my Bulova “Jet Star” with gold dial.

Damn that Bulova has some great watches!
genuinely great list, i appreciate the time you spent giving the information!
I am a few minutes in and I 100% agree with every pick.

Nice list. Would add Brew Metric for < $500.
Can you please send me the link of Citizen Eco-Drive 19:43 , I am not able to find it. Looks classic.
Absolutely love the Bulova Jet star, but considering the price, it's a let down that the glass is not glass, or even sapphire, it's hard lex/plastic 😕
God tier video
Simplesmente perfeito ❤❤❤
Same watches that have been talked about for years, for the most part. Be good to hear of some newer stuff.
Invicta pro diver automatic or quartz?
How have you gotten a prx automatic under 500? I assume used?
orient star 500 category?
👍👍👍 Nice Watch , Elegant Watch , Good looking Watch with Affordable Price introduce by Watch Expert + Watch Chris 👍👍👍
Instead of repeating Timex and casio so many times, why not mention Vostok, more Ali brands such as tandorio, addiesdive/steeldive.
This is the actual affordable price range.
Isn't that the Timex Arcadia bezel is fixed in place, not rotatable?
What’s the model number of that San Martin?
13:30 that's 170 year, not 270 year. And they released 1000 pcs, not 270.
Timex is the vest bang for the buck with Casio being a close second overall
You think so? I tend to find Timex kinda over priced for what they are
@Horizontalvertigo @Horizontalvertigo I buy them on sale so, based on that, from $40 to $300+, I find them to be excellent value. I own probably 25 or more. I love the brand

Pagani Daytona sub 100
I nominate Armitron for the 'under $100 category' for the next video.
No Erebus? They're fantastic watches for the price! And really well done...
Agree!
@@silkytp789 case design is awful. And that generic micrbrand dial thing going on.
i tried on Erebus in nyc. they are SHOCKINGLY great quality & value
The real Bulova moon watch was different ! It had hour counter and minutes counter up to 30 ! Ask Just One More Watch
In the sun-$200 range, I’d look at Aliexpress brands Baltany, Thorn, Cronos, Seestern, etc., before any of the ones in this video.
$100.00 the invicta 40 mm dive watch
Jonashop isn’t the secondary market- it’s a gray market dealer
And they act like authorized dealers on their crap sometimes. Remind me of Rolex in some ways…
“Call us for availability”
*calls*
“We don’t have that item I’ll put you on a list”

Everyone says kamasu 200 dollars but I never saw them below 250
Check out the links i added there are a few for under 200
Thanks. Only blue 218 other colours red that I want 280
No clean factory watches on the list though 😂
Not disappointed as most UA-camrs come out with exactly the same tripe.
I love you Chris but most of these watches we have seen a million times. We are bored of those watches.

Master will tell when they can rest
what is the fascination with the PRX......bloody awful
Anyone know how to reach Chris directly? I want to send him a watch to give away free to a subscriber.
"best watches" and Timex???? I'm off. 🤣

It's 2025! This has started with some really old models.
I don't recommend Orient at this price. Poor materials, finish and bracelet. Piece of crap.
I'll probably manage to skip through this is less than 2 minutes.
Oh god, this is an incredibly dull outdated list.
Has there been a really solid sub-$100 watch recently?
