Such great points and perspective. Thank you for making this video it was the perfect length and subject matter for me to show in my class. My students loved it and I loved all the great ideas you had!
UA-cam casually blessing my feed with the most underrated videos ever. This is masterfully put together, I truly hope to see you succeed in whatever it is you decide to enrich the world in, God bless you.
Dude, I gotta say how much I love all the music you chose for this video; its beautiful art thats only a part of the art of video games. Its wonderful.
As a new person on this channel, just wow! This video is extremely well done and… I’m sold! I love the way you told this story and the editing/general visuals were incredible! I don’t leave many comments, but I felt I had to here. Really. Incredible job :)
Absolutely amazing video. Based on the video I assumed you had hundreds of thousands of subs and the video had millions of views. Keep it up, and as you already said, this is art.
One of my favorite switch games is paper mario the origami king. And one of reasons why I like it soo much is because of it s unique paper crafted art style. And thanks to it I now get to go to art school
i love this video and can't wait to see more. i been saying for years now that fortnite cooks with their art style so i thought the chapter 1 b roll at the start would get me until breath of the wild came up 😭
You earned a sub. Beautiful video. I truly believe games are art and they are important to our culture. If there is another game I would say is proof of that it is Nier. Both Nier games in fact have made me feel things not a lot of games have managed and I truly believe they are proof games are indeed art.
Oh yeah, definitely! Earthbound is one of my favorite games ever and I think that too definitely presents itself as art, but I feel like back then that vision would be pretty hard to express.
What's bothersome about video games being considered as an artform is their capacity to become outdated. Art cannot become outdated. That's why artwork from many centruies ago is still valuable and appreciated. Meanwhile, a video game that's 10 years old is seen as outdated, ugly, undesirable. There's a need to make a "remastered" version of a video game that was originally HD and highly regarded upon its original release?!
Honestly it's sad that you needed the GA to understand videogames are art, I mean, you needed an ridiculous Oscars-like videogame add to see what's been obvious since 5th gen. Cinematography is the last reason games are art.

I also really like the modern Kirby games and their art style

my name is Odysseus as well
That’s actually awesome
I feel like even the 16 bit era had some games that were trying to present themselves as a work of art. Especially the RPGs like Chrono trigger or FF

Yoshi's Island is another great example.
I think video games are a mix of art science and engineering
cruelty is a great example of a videogame being more art than game
I loved how video games evolved
this is so real
