I know this video is about B4nny but can we talk about Yomps in the final I63 match? He did everything he could in order to beat Se7en in the final round. May he rest in peace.
Yomps is just one of the best to ever do it. He was able to show up on any class and be an X factor for his team all while being an obviously positive presence in voice. A tragic loss to all who knew him, and a tragic loss for the TF2 scene, RIP king.
Very well made, and I hope it goes well in the algorithm. However, Comp TF2 is so hard to get views on because it isn't that talked about in the TF2 community, but I hope this does well.
While the skill of the players is not denied, the games are impossible to follow compared to something like CS, time to kill being short + most fights being so close quarters= constant jumping camera that rarely sees moments that determine how the map control changes in obvious ways
Man, really doesn't feel like it has been over 10 damn years since the big event the intro touches on. Feels straight up bizarre. Great video from start to finish!
Great watch, love it when people talk about the competitive side of the community as well. It's a shame that TF2 never really reached its full potential in terms of eSports (Imo)
I think TF2 eSports is just not interesting. But most eSports aren't interesting, but other ones just happened to get enough money, backing, were popular enough. TF2 comp stays grassroots but the grassroots just aren't compelling. The competetive games that are Poppin without big money are outliars like fighting games or rocket league
@@szymonmirek6389 nah the games are definitely very interesting. I think the issue is with the relative anonymity of the actual players. E-sports needn't be treated differently to shit like the NFL or NBA. People watch sports because they're entertaining, but they also get invested into the story lines. I used to watch B4nny all the time a few years ago just to pass time, but for some reason, the competitive TF2 is really unfamiliar to me and the most I hear of it are some blog posts. I think Valve should try again to bridge the gap more optimally with casual if that's possible, because I wasn't even aware of this whole thing.
The one MAIN thing that put me off from the casual competitive matchmaking as a person who played 6s before. It forces you to play on directx9 and have all this graphics and extra stuff like ragdolls that lowers down my pc fps like crazy. I dunno if I'm just too high and missed it being mentioned but before they lost at i49 and made FROYO they did lose to Mix^ at i46, but in the grand final after beating all of the European teams in attendance. At this point EU was pretty much dominated by Epsilon and until this LAN happened we had never seen them get smoked so thoroughly. After that happened, Europe shuffled Epsilon up to make their own superteam and a second similarly strong team was made with the broder guys. So basically during i46 Europe was weak and during i49 NA was weak. Also it's worth noting that clockwork and blaze were the key to his success for a little while.
