HR is not for me the employee, it's to protect the company

That was certainly my experience, they're there to protect the company, not the employees.

The only organization, if you're lucky, that protects the employee is the EEOC, the National Labor Relations Board and possibly the state labor board.

I've had 34 jobs, don't judge I can hold a job, but I leave because I'm bored, it's toxic or just find something better. Every single one has been unhealthy, maybe half toxic. I feel like it's just the nature of people. There's always that one ring leader that rallies the troops against a target 🎯

Sadly, from real experience, people in a toxic environment do in fact NOT reciprocate positiivity! The toxic employees start to latch onto you like a leech, draining you of your energy because you're the only person who's capable of sharing kindness.
Even worse, in a competitive work environment, it's interpreted as weakness. You'll have a target placed on your back, because somehow being a decent human being is going to trigger someone's insecurities.
All it did was drive me quicker towards burnout, and now my mental health is lower than it ever has been. Please exercise this advice with caution!

I'm in the middle of it. I always shower people with people and unfortunately it DOES NOT work on work psychopaths who enjoy throwing people under the bus and watching them suffer and be fired. Some.people are truly sick and the only solution is just to leave this place

Get the state labor department involved. When talking and positivity doesn’t work, use email and the labor department, do not speak with HR, look for another job. The gross display of inappropriate behavior and communication is unacceptable. These tactics are deliberately to paralyze the employee. Move on knowing your worth. Be well.

Oh my God!!! And Creepy Andrew went in for a hug with hot sandy in receiving and she told him please don’t hug me! Oh my god!!!! This is so fun!!

Unfortunately those tips can’t be app to a multinational company operating in a third world country😢 HR won’t even take my side they will directly say what I told them to the bullies and they would make my life more miserable than it’s already is. HR are wondering why the turnover is so high lol
I am literally waiting for the next company that would call me for an interview 😢
It’s really sad being treated like a slave and living in constant fear of making a mistake or not doing a task on time, or even be fired if they want to. Doing 3 people work and still be expected to do everything on time. Complaining doesn’t work either they always end us saying that Me or my team are not managing work the way it should be.. Mondays are the worst and the stress and workload doesn’t stop there it keeps getting worse throughout the week with weekly reviews and reports on Fridays..
I am counting the days and hours till I am done with this company but most of all its people aka the leaders
Very sad for someone who really works hard, has a masters degree and experience 😢

Hi Mel- how would you suggest dealing with difficult clients as a small business owner? I do landscaping and it seems like people feel like they can treat you like trash if you are a manual laborer.

Mel, this is a good discussion. However, HR is only concerned with the company's legal position. Any help to employee's happiness and well-being is either incidental or used as a way to help the company. I found this out the hard way.

This advice sounds rosey!!! but let's be honest it is not realistic and its application is being too generalized. Sounds hopeful, like a " kumbayah", but it is not always practical. Some places are too toxic.

This conversation on depressing toxic work cultures brings to mind Ben Hinson’s poem “Dance of Desolation:”
    ua-cam.com/video/imVJUQk9RO4/v-deo.htmlsi=NPvEwNa3tJle28K9
The last line in the poem hit home for me: “in the game of shadows, victory eludes all but those who refuse to dance.” 💯🤔
Don’t dance guys, leave!!! Don’t stay in toxic workplaces!
