I paid $200 for my Sedici Strada Carbon 2 (non primo) and I love it. Out of all the helmets I tried on, it fit the best. I can’t wait to add this to my collection (I have the original Sedici Strada as well). Great helmets.

The Comoto house brands have gotten really good. A few weeks ago, I got a Bilt Tour as a throwaway helmet to use while I learned to wheelie. For $80 I expected it to be loud, heavy, hot, and generally horrible. But it turned out to be really good. I wear it almost all the time and only get out my Schuberth when I'm planning a lot of highway miles.
That's surprising, esp for Bilt. All the Bilt stuff I've seen or used has been straight up garbage.
Totally agree with your thoughts on the tinted visor vs Pinlock. In my youth I loved the tinted visor look., until I had to ride home one night down an unlit freeway in pouring rain. Not fun, especially when you're on a sport bike with nowhere to stash a clear visor. I've been riding with a clear visor & sunglasses ever since. And I recently picked up a helmet that came with a Pinlock in the box. What a game changer, especially as we're coming into winter down here. No more riding half blind with a foggy lens or freezing my nose of in the wind direct from Antarctica.
Nab a Bell or Shoei with transitions lens.. they're amazing.
@@maguslascivious4980 The Suomy Speedstar I just picked up has a built in sun visor & came with the Pinlock at 60% off RRP. Both the Bell & Shoei transitions lenses cost more than my entire helmet. Transitions lenses may be awesome, but I'd rather put the money towards a good set of tyres.
@@maguslascivious4980and the internal sun shield. Especially if you wear prescription specs. I know it’s an old idea, and it makes the helm (yes I’m calling it a helm) bigger and heavier. But on a hot summers day you have your visor wide open, but your eyes are still protected and you have the shading effect. Before I was wrecked by a car in it, my gtair was the goat helmet. Ever functional and adaptable. It was a little big though, caught wind like a sail. Which makes your neck stronger therefore it’s a plus

I hate the drop down sunglasses things. They're a stupid gimmick imo.

Regarding noisy vs quiet helmets. The old standard was that IF the helmet had excellent venting, it will be noisier than 'standard' venting. So, the $$$$ helmets were usually noisier than the $ helmets.
Ironically, my finding is that the most noise ‚pollution‘ I ever found was coming from the bottom. Not saying vents do not influence noise levels, but the most annoying noise is coming through my neck area where the air from the stream coming above the motorcycle is hitting my body. Almost independent from my seating position - the moment I block that area (i.e. putting my hand below the helmet), the noise is 30% less. Getting the bottom area tight and acoustically and aerodynamically optimized would be primary concern on helmet sound isolation.
@@pan6593this is my exact problem man. The wind off my shoulders and neck cause so much noise. I have a strada 2 and I swear gotten louder over time
Good timing for this review. I'm hitting the smelly limit on my current lid and resolved myself to not having to clean the butter fly guts off a matte black helmet anymore!

Definitely agree with you on the sizing. Just picked up the Strada 3 yesterday and the large feels like a medium to me. I'm hoping it loosens up during use... haven't decided what to do with it yet.
Strada 2 was my first motorcycle helmet and it has been good for what I paid for it. I do want a little bit less whistle and wind noise on my next lid though.
I use a Strata 2 and it's been fine for me. 17000 miles through and I'm looking to upgrade just for the newer communication. This edit is just adding commentary after the entire video. My Strata 2 didn't leak at the center top of the shield. I thought my sizing was off also. I have an XL but it was tight as hell, and it seemed that it would limit sales because there are folks with way bigger heads than mine. I also thought the vents weren't doing much until it got over 85 degrees and I then was surprised how well it was working. Thats it. Thanks for the review. Mines looking a little tired, so I guess I'll keep looking.
I rode a strada 2 for 2 years. And when I went into upgrade I fully went in expecting to pay for a shoei. After I was told I could interchange the visors, I went for it and I’m so glad I grabbed a strada 3. Even got a discount on a white xl because it had a blemish. I’m so happy I upgraded. It’s all the things we love about the 2 refined. And the 22.06 helmet I have is much nicer quality compared to the 22.05. Thicker neck roll and just better quality of foam. If you are on the fence, don’t be it’s a very nice upgrade. Cheers.

1st of your videos I have seen. I am impressed with your details, quality (video & sound) and I like the speed of your delivery. I’ll watch more. My issue would be missing detents. I ride touring bikes and I need them for defogging and I like to open partially when going slower to get more air. Have you ever tried a Helmet Sunblocker (tint strip along top of a shield)? Very effective (on Amazon). Used for many years. Please tell me which model of Flying Eyes you like. My favorite helmet is Aria’s Signet X. Lower cost I also like HJC’s CL-17. I have a big oval head.
i got a strada 3 a few months ago and i’ve enjoyed it. fit great, it’s much quieter than my previous helmet and also much more aerodynamic (naked bike problems). i’ve found they run a lot smaller than the previous generation of sedici helmets. my Viaggio was a L and my Strada is XXL.
Just bought a Strada last week. Great fit for my big fat head.

Did the 3 feel tighter on your head than the 2 did when new?
If you want even quieter or warmer in winter you can always instal a wind breaker on it. It’s only downfall is if you get an itch you can’t reach most areas.

Bought the Strada 3 as my first helmet. I compared it to other helmets in the same price point, with same safety ratings, and found it to be the most comfortable and best fit. A shame it doesn't cone with the pinlock as the visor does easily fog up. Otherwise its been great.
I uprgaded from my agv k3 to this and its so much better. I was going ***mph on the interstate and there was barely no road noise and only had my cardo at 1/4 volume and it wasnt throwing my head around like the k3 did on my naked bike
I need the detents. Especially the lowest 2 with 1 being a micro opening. My breath and our weather keeps a nice breeze and no fogging. My shoes gt air doesn't have the micro opening and I need to ride with zip ties to keep it opened a bit. My older shoeis had that opening
I like my visor cracked a bit on hot days and my helmet allows various positions. Feels great on my dome.

oh yeah, it took about 30mins to break in since im usually between M and a L (59cm). I got a med and it was so darn tight but after the quick breakin, it fits perfect now
I was able to pickup the helmet the day it was released on the 17th. I was pleasantly surprised how good the helmet has been.
Sedici Murica Edition. On the 450NK with the Sedici Helmet you are the budget warrior. It would be the perfect fit for the RS 660 Stars And Stripes Limited Edition.
I have 2 of the Sedici Strada 2! My first one save my life in an accident and i got a second sedici sttada 2 ! For the price cannot beat it! But for I love shoei helmets also! Fit me great !
I hope past problems aren't an indicator for future products.
I had(still have it in my closet) a Strada 2 Primo I bought as my first helmet. The left side hinge mechanism fell off while riding one day less than 3 weeks into owning it. Reattached it and kept going since cyclegear wouldn't take it back as defective. About a month later I noted it flopping around on my head during interstate riding, because the pads had worn out so bad, they were basically non-existent. I bought a mirrored visor around the same time, and got a scratch right in the middle of my vision literally the first time I rode with it, and because it was a mirrored visor, the plastic underneath the finish was clear. Your strada 3 appears to have the same vents as the 2, so I'll agree with other reviewers, airflow sucks.
I haven't even thought of wearing it again since getting my Scorpion ST1400 going on 2 years ago now, and it's going to stay that way. That strada 2 is likely going to get cut in half one day because it's completely useless.
I had a set of sedici gloves around the same time, the seams tore after about 2 months use. I also had a sedici mesh jacket. A seam in the sleeve torn the first time I rode with it(at least cyclegear
made that one right...)
As far as I'm concerned, sedici is GARBAGE tier gear. If you want budget minded or mid tier gear, go Scorpion or Icon.

3:25 you’re correct. The shells are the same. The EPS liner on the Primo is different for Snell and therefore the helmet fits a little smaller. I have to go up to an XL on the Strada 3 Primo and I’m a large in every other helmet. The ECE 22.06 standard allows for the void in the EPS for the internal sun shield which Snell doesn’t allow. I have no doubt the Primo would pass the ECE tests, as I’m sure the Snell 2025 standard has seen the 22.06 standard beforehand.
Looks like a nice bag. If you would ever use. My helmet just came w the sack. Thought was nice and would use. Only did couple weeks. Barely fits under seat in scooter, only put in few times. Just carry helmet into work. One of many things on list need to get as well when can. Broke 1 thing at time choose what is most important. Glasses and probably dog to vet before anything else. Never made a lot make least I have in life currently. Other obligations are more important at time.
I've owned both the Shoei Neotech and a Sedici Duale, essentially the dual sport equivalent to what you have here. Both helmets had the same features apart from the Shoei being a modular and the Sedici being a regular full face in a dual sport trim. Both were pinlock ready, had drop down sun visors, and both were pretty quiet. So what is the difference between the ~$230 Sedici and the $800 Shoei apart from brand recognition. It's the little details; the chin strap pad is cut a little too long on the Sedici and partially covers the strap button when you tighten the d-ring. The airflow adjustments just don't flow quite as much air, and have smaller switches that are more difficult to find in gloves. There are less detents in the face shield. The drop down sun visor is more difficult to deploy with the slider and the visor itself is positioned a bit too far in and brushed against the bridge of my nose while riding. None of these issues are present on the Shoei, but for my budget they still don't justify the almost $500 price difference. We're fortunate as a riding community to have a wide range of quality helmets available at more affordable price points, what you pay for with premium brands are the little things that you can't show on a features list.
I own a HJC C70. Great helmet though noisy.I do wear ear plugs when riding but nothing I bother myself on to much.
I do see a lot of people owning AGV and Sedici nowadays. And through Adobo Moto videos, i've seen KYT coming in strong as well.
Looking around slowly for a second follow up helmet cause mine has some scratches and damages going on. Nothing fierce, of course else I would have changed it already.
But it's hard to find a helmet without test riding with the helmet to compare the noise it can generate. Test fitted a lot of helmets but like I mentioned it's hard to pick one.
Big fan of HJC myself but so many great brands out there to name some extra Scorpion, Shark, Alpinestars, Arai and so on. Even though Arai seems limited here in The Netherlands.
So yeah it's a whole thing to sort out but somehow still fun to do so.

I guess i have never tried closing my vents to try block wind noise on video. Mine have basically been permanently open I think. Mine is Vega modular bought closeout at shop $80 probably 5 or so years ago.
Tried a couple of these in a shop and found that I couldn't put on my glasses with the small or medium. I currently wear an LS2 Advent X in small.

My Helmet is 139.00 has drop down tinted visor. That is a budget helmet. Quiet on low speed rides with front vent closed, a bit more noisy at 90 plus miles per hour. But I am okay with it.
I've been wearing the strada 2 for almost 3 years now, another few years and I'll look into the strada 3, thanks for the review my guy

Pin lock is definitely the schizz!!!
After owning a helmet with the inner tinted visor and outer clear I wont own one without it unless it's a dedicated offroad helmet meant to be used with googles. Glare is a big deal with for me and the inner visor can be a godsend.
Love my ls2, fits my big noggin

I have come close to ordering a Sedici several times. But, the front chin vent just looks cheap. A buddy bought a helmet (There is a Corvette by a similar name) with a similar style and it will no longer stay closed. And that happened fairly early on.
I promise you it’s not. The Strada 3 is a significant improvement on an already excellent platform. These helmets are manufactured by MHR (LS2) and honestly the best value helmets available for under $300 starting price. Go check them out.
@spitescorner get yourself a long neck gaiter to wear under your helmet.
I am in Las Vegas, and ride all year. A wet neck gaiter will help keep you cool and reduce the sweat absorbed into your helmet keeping it fresher longer.
Whenever I stop, I re-wet the gaiter to keep me cool.
I bought a brand new RF1400 from them and it had a terrible high pitch whistle. Pretty disappointing considering what they charge for them. Probably will be sticking with agv for now.
Only having opened and closed setting is so overlooked. Once u have the option to crack the shield a few clicks u cant go back.
Idk if it carried over but I have a Strada 2 and it does have like one cracked setting

I have a Strada 3 Primo Ritmo and it is HOT. Fits great and I do like the helmet, but it is HOT!! I wish the brow vents opened just a bit more.

What is the quietest helmet made or at least that you have tested? My Harley helmet is Very noisy, although I don't know how much of the noise is from the helmet and how much is due to the stock Low Rider ST windscreen. I have a new windscreen on order.
Shoei's X15 and RF1400 are probably best outside of a Schuberth
Rf-1400 would go great on a low rider ST. I have the helmet but I sure wish I had your bike!
Low Rider ST stock windshield throws all the air right onto your head. I'd wait until after trying to the windshield first before getting a new helmet.
hey spite, you should use this helmet for the next 3-5 months exclusively and then do another review on it to see if your thots have changed or remain the same. You really cant get a good understanding from putting a helmet on your head for a day and give it a 4 out 5 star rating. you may like it today but in a week or 2 you may find stuff you hate about it. i have been looking at the RF-1400 for about a year now and i think ima close to pulling the trigger on it. love the vids man keep em up and ride safe!!
All helmets should come with quick release tabs. Why most still have d loops with a snap I’ll never understand
looking for a new helmet myself. I'm looking for a silent helmet (low wind noise) Shoei neotec 3 or Shuberth c5. (system helmets) They seem to be very low noise, with pinlock inner visor and only about 700 euro (about 7-800 dollar). Try one of those... My wife and i both have sena intercom systems and we have noticed that speech is allright at 100 mile or more, but music and navigation is almost inaudible.
Anyone know what mic he's using?

It's their third try and still haven't added detents to the shield. That's absolutely unacceptable. I don't ride with sunglasses and like to crack the visor at low speeds. Looking forward to trying it when they resolve this issue.
You can wash the pads all you want, but after two years in Texas heat, some smells don't wash out

this ain't close to a Shoei buddy. After a decade of riding, I just bought my 1st shoei (RF1400), and tried on numerous helmets in Cycle Gear for due diligence. Even the K6 S wasn't on par. The shield issue you mention, the lack of a brow vent, is an indication of quality. It's weight is the same as a non-carbon lid.
Live in China atm. Would seriously recommend MT helmets. Jarama is the model name I think. Compliant with ece 22.06, pretty quiet as compared to my Scorpion at95, got better airflow, materials used don't feel cheap and it's priced around 100-150 bucks. Yeah, eyebrow vents whistle like hell and pinlock pins are made of boggers, so they would literally annihilate after a couple of weeks (same problem with at95 tho). Otherwise it's a pretty good helmet.
why can this helmet not have gotten tested for ece 2206 as well?
I *think* don't quote me, I think you can only put one sticker from either Snell and ECE on there. I don't know of a helmet off the top of my head that has both.
The Shoei x-15 does have both safety ratings according to cycle gears website. Either way great video I just found the lack of an ece rating to be odd when their other version has it.

I'm sick of every helmet that is a LONG OVAL headshape costing $650+. I'm also sick of Icon helmets (the only other fit that sort of fits) being cheap pieces of crap.
Seems like the only solution is HJC or something similar, with acceptable quality and fit, and a DREMEL TO THE EPS to get rid of hot spots.
My only remark with the Sedici Strada helmet line is that inventory supply for visors and for cheek pads is always pretty limited with my experience of owning the Strada II for two+ years constantly out of stock
I have owned $1000 helmets and cheap helmets. From Aria, Shoei, and others. HJM is the largest helmet manufacturer. You see higher quality/more premium materials at same prices points compared to other brands. They build so many helmets better price controls. Once your in over $300 starting to pay for more expensive composites like carbon fiber. It maybe a little lighter but safety wise the head and neck can only tolerate so much no matter what the helmet is made from. Check the ratings like ECE specifically. DOT by itself is a joke. Always wear a helmet specifically full face. We typically crash face forward. Our face is designed to protect your brain but nice to have a face after a crash
Noise. Truthfully all helmets are noisy. You need to wear earplugs. Wind noise causes just as much damage as exhaust noise. I have never worn a helmet wear OMG this helmet is so quiet.

As an ex employee for the guys behind the Sedici, i promise the quality is nothing compared too Shoei.
Shoei's are hand made, and very heavily tested. Shoeis take anywhere from 20-40 hours per helmet to make. Sedici are mass produced, and injection molded. Dont get me wrong, they are not the worst thing out, but they are NOT comparable to Shoei in any fashion.
If you have the money, please spend the coin on the best helmet you can afford.
As a survivor of a severe head trauma which left me with permanent brain damage and a large bit of my past blank,
Budget helmets are for people who only think “good enough” is just fine.
I was wearing an RF-800, the chin bar twisted and collapsed, the shell was fractured and the EPS liner was crushed, 6.5 hrs unconscious and no idea where I was for about a year.
The top brain surgeon in the world happened to tell me after my recovery that ANY other helmet other than ARAI or SHOEI would have been death. If you can’t afford the 5 star helmets, then look at 4 stars. You only have ONE brain and it is the master computer. Protect it.
The gap in this helmet is due to poor build quality and/or quality control.
More money does not mean more safety. If the helmets have the same stickers they have met the same safety requirements
I just paid $557 for a RF1400. The primo at $479 just isn’t worth it.

Saying this is very close to being a 700 dollar helmet is so disingenuous. 700 can get u a quality shoei and arai. I bought a strada 2 and ended up returning it because well, its a budget minded helmet. I was coming from a shoei 400 dollar helmet and the difference in quality is blatantly obvious. U just cant go back unless u are getting it as a second or backup helmet.
The jump in quality and performance between the strada 2 and strada 3 are HUGE. I'm not a huge fan of the 2, but I'll suggest the 3 to anyone and everyone because it's a damn good buy for the price.
I had a strata 2 as well. I bought a 3 a few weeks ago. Its better. Not Shoei good at all, but significantly better than the last one.
I've been riding in Shoeis for like five years now, and if I didn't have $700 to spend on a base model Shoei, or $1000 for a graphic one, then this is the best budget option I've ridden in.

I’ve always thought the snell rated primo sedicis are a great option if you’re going to the track for the first time and don’t want to leyyerdown and have it cost double to replace the helmet.
