Lou, I never knew, nor have I ever seen a 63 Cadillac Eldorado Coupe. Never new they existed. As a 10 yr old and thereafter I've only seen the Series 62 and Coupe DeVille of this vintage. The 1st 60s Eldorado Coupe I was aware of was the FWD 67 Coupe.
Hi Larry Hawkins, Happy to share this one with you :-) Lou
Special order car as it was not part of the line up.
Wow! How perfect can a car be! When a Cadillac was the standard of the world!
Happy to receive a "Wow!"
Love the fact that this is a coupe instead of the typical convertible. As the gentleman stated, the coupes are much more rare and you can't beat this frost beige/bronze two tone color. This is when Cadillacs were the standard of the world. Beautiful car Lou.
Hi Kenneth White, Glad you love this one :-) An amazing car for sure, Lou
So rare it's unique... it never came from the factory that way!
I believe it's 100% stock.
I agree with you. I can't find any Cad production figures that indicate a 63 Eldo coupe. The last Eldo Seville coupe was in 1960.

Stunning!
BREATHTAKING!
This looks so very much like the MINT ‘64 Cadillac Coupe deVille my dad brought home in 1967 when I was 8 years old (I’m 61 now). Our ‘64 was the same beautiful gold(‘dorado’ in Spanish) as this ‘63 is, but our deVille’s seats weren’t upholstered in leather like this one, but were covered in the rich looking “Dynasty Gold” print fabric. And I think the ‘64 tail fins/taillights were just a hair shorter, angled just a little sharper, and ended with a more pronounced point at the tip (just a little more understated and elegant than the ‘63s fins/taillights were, shall we say).
Oh how I still miss our family’s then-nearly-new gold ‘64 Cadillac Coupe deVille which dad let go of after owning it for only 2 years. He sold it in order to purchase a one-year-old teal-green ‘68 Ford Ranger pickup with a king-size cabover camper on it which we put to good use within a month or so of its purchase when we moved out of Southern California (Orange County, Buena Park) to the beautiful State of Arkansas where my dad had spent the first 10 years of his life and where his family still retained a good portion of their property which my great-great-grandfather had homesteaded back in 1868 just after the Confederate Army (which he had been a part of) surrendered, ending the Civil War. In fact, the house I now live in which my late father had a local contractor build for us back in 1970, is only a couple hundred feet from the site where once stood the small rustic two-story home my great-great-grandfather Samuel hand built when he first took possession of the several hundred acres of land that he had homesteaded for 3¢ an acre back in 1868. Even 51 years ago (dang, has it been HALF A CENTURY already?) when I was 10 and we had just moved here from California, there wasn’t a thing left of great-great-grandpa Samual’s original cabin home except one block of natural stone that looks like it could have been a step in front of the door, or a foundation stone that a corner or a part of the house stood on.
Anyway, I digress from the topic of the Cadillac. My apology.
Thanks so much for the posting of this beautiful, stunning, BREATHTAKING ‘63 classic Cadillac! I love it!
Happy to read this car brings back memories of your Dads car :-) Thank you for viewing and sharing,
Thank you for "digressing" off the Caddy topic, which of course, is a most stunning automobile! You have some interesting family history! Thank you for sharing that@ 👍💯🙏
Saw so many of these Caddys on the road in my youth, and sadly many more in the wrecking yards years later. So nice to see one beautiful and elegant as it was and should be.
Hi Steve Kovacs, Glad to read you appreciate and enjoy the looks of this car :-) Lou
I love the '62-'64 Caddys! Still has a slight fin, along with that early '60's aerodynamics. And, they still have alot of that beautiful chrome especially the grill work.
Hi WileyOne Kiser, Happy to read you appreciate this car :-) Thank you for viewing and sharing. Lou
This my friends is an automobile. Luvin that horn!... Cadillac... "Standard of the World"
Thank you for viewing and sharing Gerry Hamm :-) Hope you see many ore cars you enjoy on this UA-cam Channel, Lou
I really enjoy your straight forward "clean" approach to presenting these cars as time capsules. Thanks again for presenting such great videos!
Thank you for the encouraging words, and you're welcome.
No Eldorado hardtop in 1963. Body number 6357 is Coupe deVille which would correspond to "J" in the VIN. Car was a Special Order of a Coupe deVille with Eldorado exterior trim and interior. Staple holes in body plate where the Special Order (paper) tag was attached indicating the changes. Usually the paper tag is long gone but the staples remained. Unfortunately the staples were removed from the plate, presumably when the cowl was painted (gold). From the factory, this area is semi gloss black. The firewall has also been painted body color (gold) but beginning in 1963, this was no longer painted body color but should also be semi gloss black.
I have seen one 1962 Coupe deVille that had also been Special Ordered with Eldorado exterior trim however the interior was standard Coupe deVille with optional bucket seats (which became available on DeVilles w/leather in 1962).
Interesting car!
HI 59cdv, Thank you for viewing and sharing your knowledge. Hope you see many more cars on this UA-cam Channel you'll enjoy, Lou
i was drooling all the way thru this viewing.yet another example of why american cars were the best in the world.sadly they are in too few in number.thankyou for showing such a stunning work of art.
HI Craig, Happy to share this "work of art" with you :-) You're welcome, Lou
The '63 Coupe Cadillac is in my top 10 of most beautiful cars ever built. 1963 was a great year for a lot of cars back then.
Hi dj33036 .dj63010, "Top 10" high praise :-) Hope you see many more cars on this UA-cam Channel you'll enjoy, Lou
Try to find a nice '63 or '64 Riviera for me. Everyone does the '65 with the hideaway headlights but I like the earlier ones.
Stay tuned, I have a 64 coming up :-)
Here is a 63 for you to enjoy :-) ua-cam.com/video/IYkLFM673qs/v-deo.html
Hello Joe, I worked as a Service Manager at a Cadillac dealer in Florida back in the day, about 10 years after this car was made. Obviously, we still had cars as old as 15 years, sometimes even 20 in the Service dept. You are correct in that, beginning in the early 50’s, those optional dimming units were called “Autronic Eye” . That later was dropped simply for the “Automatic Dimming” option, but it was never referred to as “Twilight Sentinel” That was a completely different option that Cadillac developed, that turned on the headlamps system automatically when a sensor in the left radio speaker grille(on top of the dash), sensed darkness. It would also turn off the headlamps when it became Dawn, and as part of the feature, you could dial an adjustment that would allow a delay In turning *off* the headlamps, allowing you time to walk safely while the system lighted your path. It was a great innovation, and was (much) later offered on other GM lines. Now, nearly all makes of cars have this feature these days. But Cadillac had it long before Lincoln or Imperial.
Incidentally, speaking about this ‘63 Eldorado, ‘63 was the LAST year they had dash mounted “bullet” style Autronic Eyes. In 1964, Cadillac put the sensor just under the chrome molding on the left fender, in a small clear lens, just above the left headlamps. This is an extreme high-optioned Eldorado shown. It appears to have every available option offered that year including power vent windows, tilt wheel (first year offered) and AM-FM radio, as well as Limited Slip Differential (Positraction rear axle), Cruise Control and Bucket Leather Seats.
Automatic Temperature Control air conditioning was not offered until 1964, exclusively in Cadillacs. GM Engineers at Cadillac saw an opportunity to capitalize on a great innovative option, and later on in the 1964 model year, decided to offer the optional for all full-sized GN lines for the upcoming 1965 model year. So, in ‘65, GM introduced across the board for the other four GM lines (full-size Chevrolet’s, Pontiacs, Olds, and Buicks) Automatic Temperature Control air conditioning and heat, calling it “Comfortron” for those makes.
Hi Phonejag1, Thank you for viewing and sharing your knowledge. Hope you see many more Cadillacs on this Channel you'll enjoy, Lou
Thanks for the heap of info--loved it! 👍💯👏
back in the late 60's, I learned to drive in a 1964 Cadillac Sedan de Ville, what a car. Wish I had one of those now.

WOW how cool is this, I was just in there today and picked up some parts for my 65 Malibu. Love your shows thank you Lou.
Hi chris jeffries
, Happy to receive a "WOW" from you :-) Glad to read you picked up some parts for your cool car! Appreciate your kind words on the Channel, and you're welcome, Lou
That paint color is 🔥🔥🔥
Glad to read you enjoy the paint color on this car Ryan Belcher :-) Lou
Amazing! No need for vanity mirrors on this Caddy, because you can see your reflection in everything from the paint to the chrome!
Nice :-)
This is one of my favorite cars. What a Beauty.
Happy to read this one is a favorite :-)
I have never seen a1963 cadillac Eldorado coupe! Beautiful!
Happy to read you enjoy the looks of this car :-)
What a beauty.
And of course by Fisher Body who was the coachbuilder for GM vehicles.
Hi Guillermo Garraton
, Happy to read you enjoy the looks of this car :-) Lou
Body by Fisher Interior by Fleetwood was on the door sill panel of our Cadillacs when i was growing up that era.
This Eldorado is fantastic! Funny story, but I was 9 or 10 years old when the knife-edged '67 Eldorado was introduced. It was the most beautiful car to me, and in fact still is. I was all about brand-new cars at the time, so I didn't know that there were earlier Cadillacs named Eldorado. This '63 Eldorado was only four model years before my favorite, the '67, and I must say, it is also quite stunning. Thanks for sharing the car with us, Original Parts Group, and thank you Lou and the crew for showing it to us 👍
Hi Mike YQR, High praise :-) I'm looking for a 67 Eldorado to feature, and when I find one, the Care Taker is not around. Stay tuned and let's hope I find one to feature. You're welcome, Lou
@@loucostabile That would be awesome! I hope you find one that you can feature 🤞
Spectacular!! Frost Gold w that white roof!! Personifies Americana like no other.. absolutely love the early 60’s Caddy’s, Lou. 🔥😎🇺🇸👍💪
High praise George for this "Spectacular!!" Caddy :-) Lou
The colour is awesome compliments the chrome brilliantly. WOW
Hi Narendra modi, Glad you receive a 'WOW" from you :-) Lou
Another great video from you Lou. When you got to the part about the stainless trim on the roof I choked up a little. We used to make such beautiful things. What the hell ever happened? I think it's connected to overpopulation. This particular car is just magnificent. Cruise control, Air conditioning, and FM radio. Even several years later FM radio was still a rare feature. And every detail is like a brand new car. I'd like to add a little history. The 1963 Cadillac design was the basis for all the full-sized Cadillac's to come and carried into the front wheel drive era. At one time the '63 Cadillac was the favorite used car of biker's. Rough and tumble biker's, not cyclists.
Hi discerningmind, Happy to read you enjoy the details of this car and consider it "magnificent :-) Hope you see many more cars on this UA-cam Channel you'll enjoy, Lou
This car is no doubt prized by angels. That horn pretty much sez so - lol. This one is a beautiful machine and the chrome is well placed. I give it 2 Thumbs up and a Big Toe!
"And the Big Toe!" That is a new one :-) Thank you ImTheDaveman, Lou
Aah the tail fin. It soared to it's height in 1959 and then reluctantly melted back into the fender, essentially over about 20 years. But wasn't it GREAT ?! -Silence... Well I think so anyway. An amazing looking car from any angle. CHEERS.
You are right, the tail fin is great :-)
Wow Lou! Another flawless time machine! Love the colors and the style! Just gorgeous! I was a bit surprised that the clock was not working as it would be in a restoration like this. But that is trivial to how awesome this is! They sure do have timeless machines there in outstanding condition! Thanks Lou for sharing!
Hi Steve Flad, Always happy to read a "Wow" :-) You're welcome, Lou
Absolutely stunning! What an elegant car....the color combination is exquisite.
Hi Paul, High praise :-) Lou
Still with the smallish fin! Gorgeous car. I want it!!!!! Thanks Lou
Hi Kelly, Happy to read you "I want it!!!!!" :-) You're welcome, Lou
WHAT A BEAUTIFUL CADILLAC ONE OF YOUR BEST I HAVE SEEN
Hi Han Schenk, High praise :-) Glad you enjoy this one, Lou
Just watched a 1963 4 door Fleetwood video on Charles Phoenix, I know! The front buckets and elegant console on the 2 door is still stunning 60 years later.
Thanks for viewing and sharing.
Never saw a hardtop Eldo. Unicorn!! Beauty.
Hi MELLIEbevhills, Happy to share this car with you, Lou
Pure class, love that color, when i was a kid a person on the next street over had about a 63-64 in Aqua blue
Hi Jim, Happy to read you enjoy this car that's "Pure class" :-) Lou

Lou Costabile already have!
Cadillac Eldorado alert, I got goosebumps (ASMR response) at the start of this one !
Clearly Dave Lister you qualify as a "Car Guy" :-) Glad you're along for the ride, Lou
When cars were measured in yards, not feet. FABULOUS.
:-)
Not only is that woodgrain. It's real wood. It's called autronic eye. It dims your headlights when another car approaches, then returns to high beam when it passes by. That third stalk sticking out one the right side of the steering column is tilt wheel. First year offered on Cadillac. The wheel on top of the dash next to the A post is for your automatic temperature control. AM/FM radio or stereo, also first year for Cadillac (I think, not positive). That was for cruise control under the hood. This car is super rare, fully loaded including bucket seats and rolling art. Unfortunately we will never see cars like this with this amount of attention to detail and quality.
Hi Rick Loera, Thank you for viewing and sharing your knowledge. Happy to read the details you enjoy with this car, Lou
Cadillacs from !963 and 64' were the prettiest ever produced IMHO Thanks for a great view.

That horn was a GM option Lou. Infact it is the same option as the Riviera you once reviewed. (Expect those were mounted right on the hood). 😭 The owner had the choice of single or dual tone. Dual tone brought two trumpets! Lol
Thank you Lynx Star Automotive for sharing your knowledge of the horn, Lou
The “Trumpet Horn” option was standard on the Eldorado, optional on other Cadillac models. This one however, must have one or two of the horns not working. The purpose of these additional horns was to have a very pleasant sounding 3-tone horn, and yes, they did have a 4-tone option as well. The Trumpet produced a high “C” note, which gave the Caddy a unique and loud pleasant sounding tunes horn note combination.
by the way its a ''town and country'' horn ...there is a switch inside somewhere...you were supposed to switch it in the city and you have a quieter horn but on a higher tone like european cars...and when you go on the highway you turn the 'country' horn wich is way louder but on a lower tone (thats the one we heard, the one with the trumpet)
there is another comment about the horn but its inacurate, what you saw is the 'dual tone' you can see the 'town' horn just beside the one with the trumpet
Hi Ragimund Vonwallat, Thank you for viewing and sharing your knowledge, Lou
Great car Lou , They just don't make cars this cool anymore ,love it
Cheers Steve
Hi Steve Carboni, Glad you "love it" :-) Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou
AHHHH The last minute you got the horn!! Thank you.
:-)
@@loucostabile If you're still there...what would I look at spending to get a really clean 63 Eldorado? Hardtop or convert. is ok...Doesn't have to be mint.
Hey Lou. Lovely looking 63 Cadillac ElDorado. I love the condition. I've always loved Cadillacs of this vintage. :)
Hey Jason, Glad to read you love this vintage :-) Lou
What a gorgeous car! I can't wait for the videos on that Grand National and the El Camino.
Hi Todd Wall, Glad you enjoy the looks of this one. Stay tuned :-) Lou
I, too, noticed that Grand National back there lol.
Wow Lou great job I dont know how I missed this video as always an excellant job an the Cadillac is pristine as usual it screams Move get out the way Royalty is comming through 👍👌👌
Hi Cedric Logwood, Happy to receive a "Wow" from you :-) Glad to see you found this one, Lou
that cadalliac is a beauty my gather had a 63 coupe D ville same coulor
Glad this one brings back memories of your Fathers 63 :-)
MARVELOUS ! Those were the days in the USA !!!
Good times :-)
Yes that module mounted on the wheel liner is the cruise control. The control switches for it are right above the driver’s HVAC vent on the dash. You zoomed in right on it when you opened the door.
Also the photo sensor is the AUTRONIC Eye, not Electronic. GM renamed it Twilight Sentinel in the 1970s and now it’s simply called automatic headlamps.
Hi Joey D, Thank you for viewing and sharing your knowledge, Lou

Dear Mr. Lowe, I admire your style of explaining about cars. Your choice is great. I can buy two cars from you
Dear Talal, Happy to read your enjoying the Channel with me :-) I have no cars to sell at this time, Lou
Thanks for the in depth video, I am from Europe and here we don't have many of those cars, If you look at our cars back then they were completely different, I really like the Bigger is better style on those cadillacs! It would be a dream of mine to own one of those, even the 70's models look superb.
Hi vinvent, Glad you enjoy this one :-) Hope you own one one day, and even if you can't, hope you see many cars you'll enjoy on this UA-cam Channel, Lou
Thanks, my parents said they wanted my first car to be a big second hand vehicle, they say it's safer. So maybe I can try and asko for one of those 75-79 cadillacs ;)
wow, that is incredible, Jeff loves to slam that door too..LOL
They have the parts onsite to fix it :-)
BTW - Thank you Mitch Grooms as I always enjoy reading a "wow" regarding the car featured :-)
In my opinion, when a Cadillac is done right, there is no competition.
Glad you enjoy this one :-)
Lou, is this car for sale?
Not for sale.
Lou, I don't blame the owner. I live in SoCal. I'll stop by and see this one for myself! Love your channel!
This is the kind of auto one took to the steakhouse to get a rare steak and a martini.
The radio is playing Ella Fitzgerald and all is well with the world. These autos are
rarely found outside of heaven.
Hi Rob, "These autos are rarely found outside of heaven." AMEN! Lou
Absolutely stunning Lou! What a treat! Great presentation! You're turning into a gentleman!
Hi BobEckert56, Glad you enjoy the car and thank you for the kind words on the presentation, Lou
A beautiful example from the days when Cadillac meant the best from General Motors.
Good times :-)
Beautiful car!
Happy to read you enjoy the looks of this car :-)
I rode in a 63 Sedan Deville, 4 door in that color ,as a boy .....
I loved that car and this gorgeous Eldorado, brings back good times to me .
This car was a true CADILLAC, and led the world at the time ....are you listening today's Cadillac?
Hi Dante Ardenz, Happy to read this car brings back memories of the 63 Cadillac you rode in :-) Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou
Amazing looking Cadillac inside and outside Pretty Car'
Glad you enjoy this one :-)
We had a '63 Fleetwood Sixty Special in dark maroon metallic when I was very young. Two favorite years for Cadillac. We had those horns as an option, along with what we called the "Phaser" on the dash. I think one or more of the trumpets wasn't speaking there. Should sound like the Duke Ellington Band coming at ya! Favorite car of my youth and i'd by one in a heartbeat if there's it's out there.
Hi Rob Hoffhines, Thank you for sharing your memories and experience with this car :-) Lou
He is correct on the horns, also no need to slam the trunk shut just latch it, it will automatically take care of itself, or was that only on fleetwoods dad had a fleetwood too I remember him getting upset if you slammed it shut
such a beautiful car, I wish I owned it. take a road trip to Florida or California.
Glad to read you enjoy the looks of this car :-)
Being confined to the house, that car is beautiful. Lou loved seeing this video. This one has plenty vitamin C to help with the virus. Bruce from Boston
Hi Bruce in Boston, Happy to share this "C" adilla "C"with you :-) Two times the C levels needed! Lou
Have a 1 owner 63 Fleetwood 4 dr hartop . The wood on the doors and dash is real south american exotic wood !
Sounds like a nice car :-)
Great Car Lou ! Did you notice it had Power Ventipane Windows ?
Hi Max Redman, Happy to read you enjoy this "great car" :-) No I didn't notice that, thank you for pointing that out, Lou
Lou, the "Electric Eye" is actually the "Autronic Eye" Its function is different from what you stated. It does not respond to other cars high beams but rather it dims your high beam to low beam and then back again when another car approaches and then has passed.
I inherited my grandparents 1963 Cadillac Eldorado they bought brand new from my other grandparents Cadillac Dealership . It had 26,xxx original miles and was Coral Rose with a ivory white top & black and white leather interior. 390 with the hydromatic transmission. Beautiful car . Sadly it was stolen from my driveway one evening and never recovered and I didn't have any comprehensive insurance on it because I was having trouble getting my insurance company at that time to cover it due to it's age. But I would have never gotten rid of the car . Seems like a easy car to track in a small town but it was gone and probably stripped somewhere else
Hi The Voodoo That You Do, I think it was Dr Seuss that said "Don't be sad it's gone, be glad it happened." That line helps me, and I hope it helps you too. Hope you see many more cars on this UA-cam Channel you'll enjoy, Lou
Lou Costabile I appreciate your reply and attempt to make it easier to accept the loss . I enjoy your videos but your Dr Seuss quote not so much . But appreciate your effort as I said
The article link here says this was a specially built factory Eldorado Coupe! If that was the case, the factory would have (by law) attached a chassis number plate indicating this. If you look at the chassis plate in the video, it clearly shows it is a Coupe DeVille number (6357) of which 31,749 were built. That 1963 year also indicates that there were 1,825 Eldorado Biarritz convertibles built, no Eldorado (6367) hardtop coupes whatsoever.
Someone applied the correct Eldorado badging on the sides and trunk of the car and put on a wreath and crest center on the steering wheel. They did a fantastic job making this look like a Eldorado Coupe but the law states that a manufacturers chassis number plate MUST be an accurate description of what the car actually is, in this case, 6357 which is a coupe DeVille! No denying this fact! You can put lipstick on a pig, but it’s still a pig!
Good looking oinker
www.opgi.com/blog/index.php/opgis-1963-cadillac-eldorado-hardtop
I knew they didn't build a hard top Eldorado this year. They also added the center console and wood trim which my '63 Coupe Deville did not have.
Wow, very shiny luxury car! This is a top quality car!
Glad to receive a "Wow" from you John :-)
Beautiful.

That Caddy should have come standard with binoculars so you can see the hood ornament from the front seat. I loved these old Cadillac's. I got to ride around in a 1959 when I was a kid. Brings back some good memories. Thank you for the cool videos Lou.
HI Eagle Whitefeather01, Good idea regarding the binoculars :-) Glad this one brings back memories. You're welcome, Lou
Gorgeous Cadillac! The way the top is done looks like a convertible. Fins are the perfect size. 1959 was just way too much.

Well said.
Beautiful Beauuuutiful Car!
Hi James, High praise for the looks of this car :-) Lou
If you're driving down the road with your high beams on, the electronic eye would sense oncoming traffic and switch your lights to low beam so you wont blind approaching drivers.

When I see Cadillac's from this era I think of Doris Day with the car wash. I can see her driving this car with her pencil dress and pill top hat...
Hi Mark Hoffman, Wonderful memories :-) Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou
Gorgeous car and I think they used real walnut in the interior for '63 and '64.
Hi Vicious Poodle, Happy to read you enjoy the looks of this car :-) Lou
@@loucostabile The only classic Caddy's I do not like are the 1961 and 1962 models. Something about their front end and profiles just don't look like Cadillacs!
What a beauty! 2 doors, a lot of class, big hug Lou from Brasil watching your videos, 6 bodies in the trunk
Hi Heitor Queiroz, Happy to read you enjoy the looks of this one and appreciate the big hug, Lou

@@loucostabile thank you for your response.... I just love the classic beauty and craftsmanship that was given to creating these awesome automobiles....far more beautiful than anything that is packaged and sold today.....
An oustandingly stylish and beautiful Cadillac .
Well said Derrick Rees :-)
IN 1963 I PURCHASED A 1963 FLEETWOOD 60 SPECIAL CUSTOM BUILT FOR MRS STAHLEY WHOSE HUSBAND WAS PRESIDENT OF CADILLAC MOTOR DIV. I BOUGHT IT FROM HUMPHREY CADILLAC AND OLDS IN ROCKFORD IL .MR JASON OWNER OF THE DEALERSHIP WAS A FRIEND OF THE STAHLEY'S HE SOLD THEIR CARS WHEN THEY WERE GETTING NEW ONES AND THIS WAS ONE .IT WAS FIREMIST SILVER METALLIC AND LANDAU ROOF .THE INTERIOR WAS DAMASCUS SILK AND ITALIAN LEATHER IN GREY WITH MOUTON LAMB CARPETING TO MATCH. IT HAD EVERY ACCESSORY AVAILABLE AT THE TIME. IT HAD 1500 MI ON THE CLOCK AND THE WARRANTY AND MANUAL WAS MADE OUT TO '''GENERAL MOTORS CORP'' DETROIT MICH. I NEVER PAID ANYTHING FOR MAINTENANCE EVEN BLUE CORAL JOBS .GUESS WHY. BUT TO THE POINT THAT ELDO COUPE, THERE IS NO RECORD OF ANY ELDO COUPE BEING MADE IN 1963 NON IN FACT SINCE 1958. 14,000 CONV FOR 63 BUT NO COUPES .THIS HAD TO BE A SPECIAL MADE CAR FOR SOME EXEC. BUT IN THIS DAY IT WAS EASY TO CONVERT A DEVILLE OR SERIES 62 TO AND ELDO AS THEY WERE NOT SPECIAL BODIED CARS AS WAS THE CASE FROM 53 TO 58 THE ONLY DIFFERENCE WAS THE TRIM .THE FLEETWOOD TRIM AS YOU SEE THE ROCKERS THE WREATH AND CREST THE BRUSHED ALUMINUM MOLDINGS AND THE INTERIOR IS THE DEVILLE BASE SEAT FRAMES WITH FLEETWOOD LEATHER. THERE WAS ALSO A'' CHATEAU DEVILLE '' FOR 63/64 SIMILAR TO THIS ELDO ,BUT AGAIN NO RECORD AS THEY WERE FOR SPECIFIC DEALERSHIPS I.E HOLLYWOOD; MIAMI ETC. THERE IS NO COMPARISON TO A CADILLAC OF TODAY VERSES THEN .TODAY THEY ARE LL PERFORMANCE ENGINEERED CARS THEN IT WAS CLASS AND COMFORT EVEN THOUGH IT HAD A 390 CUI 325HP ENGINE. ALSO FOR 62-3 THEY HAD A SPECIAL BUILT EDITION CALLED "'PARK AVE ""A SEDAN DEVILLE SHORTEN BY 12'' FOR NYC. SAME AS THE DEVILLE IN PRICE AND TRIM.
Thank you richard feibel for sharing your first hand experience and story with a 1963 Cadillac :-) Lou
It's all about Lou.
I wish my wife thought that way......
when cars were works of art, before aerodynamics took over.
Nice :-)
Wow
Glad to receive a "Wow" from you brooke ballard :-) Lou
Lou, isn't this the same frost bronze color that was special ordered on the 1965 Buick Riviera Gran Sport 1 of 1 you featured on your channel in the past? I believe the owner of that car said it was a Cadillac color.
Hi Kenneth White, This one is Frost Gold, so it''s a different color, and your right the Riviera is Samoan Bronze, Lou
Standard of the World
:-)
I'm not mistaken the 1963 Cadillac came with a 390 engine Ford also had the 390 engine in the ltd. I know in 1971 Ford LTD has the 390 engine then Cadillac went to a 429 and then also Ford had the 429 engine as well, and then Cadillac went to the 472 engine which is one of the best in my opinion
Hi Rodney, Thank you for viewing and sharing your knowledge. Lou
To my knowledge, the last ELDORADO SeVILLE, which BTW, is a 2DR Hardtop, was 1960. Do you have more info on this car? Thank You!!
Hi Thomas Jones, I don't have anymore then what you see. Maybe a Viewer can share more info, Lou
This must be a one off because I never seen an Eldorado Coupe after 1960 and the rear end had the coupe de Ville trim between between the taillights
Thank you for viewing and sharing your knowledge Charles Duran. Question for you. Do you like it? Lou
Yes I always love one off cars
Weren't all Eldorado's convertibles in the early 60s? Or did that start in 1964? Was this special order?
Hi Gerald, I'm not sure, so I'm hopeful a Viewer can share the answer to your questions, Lou
@@loucostabile From what I can find there were only 3, maybe 4 specially built Eldorado coupes built that year based upon a type 62 chassis. There were only 1870 Eldorado units built in total. Seems this car is extremely rare!
It doesn't say Eldorado on the inside except the whole interior says Eldorado they were way different than the Coupe DeVille Eldorado the body was by Fleetwood instead of by Fisher The Coop DeVille would have been Fisher body in the Eldorado in the Fleetwood brooms were Fleetwood bodies
