What a Beautiful car real Detroit steel and chrome in that baby. 365 cu in, 325 hp, weight 5315 lbs. Thanks Lou what a Beauty.
Hi Newton Washington, Glad to read you find this car beautiful :-) Me too, Lou
I guess this was pretty much the epitome of luxury for 1957.
Wow, what a stylish work of art!
Thanks, Lou...
Hi Dave, This would be my luxury pick in 1957. You're welcome, Lou
@@loucostabile hi I have a matchbox 1/64 scale of that car same color too the difference is mine is a 56 with the continental kit
One of the most stunning Cadillacs ever! But most Cadillacs were stunning in their given years & decades! The ‘57 even had individual cigarette lighters per passenger when smoking was ‘cool’! Nice car Lou!!!
Now you get a USB outlet for every passenger.
Hi Rusty, High praise for this car :-) Lou
A beautiful automobile. Such style and class.
My Dad built me and my brothers a go-cart in 1957, and it had fins on it, like most of the cars that year. It was painted red with white pinstripes. On the back he painted Tot Rod in cursive. I drove that thing all over town. Back in the good old days. When people were free of restrictions, and operated on common sense. I miss them both. RIP Dad.
Hi Jo, Happy to read you enjoy the looks of this car :-) I like this one too, Lou
"Fin-age" and Finery = Heaven...another lovely look back at American luxury car assemblage! Thanks for posting Lou!

That's a beautiful Cadillac
Hi Lou !!
They can't even duplicate these automotive works of art today.
Hi Clem !! I agree this car is a work of art :-) Glad you're along for the ride :-) Lou
Perfect for the coming summer ! I remember designing some springs for a car like this. It sat so low on its tired originals that when the driver blipped the throttle with the passenger door open its lower edge would scrape the curb. Surely unique in this condition.
Hi Andrew Graham, This car makes a statement then, and now :-) Lou
Lou no words there is for this car but breathtaking! It is just gorgeous in every single way! The body style and color the chrome the engine sound the interior are just magnificent. Gives me goosebumps just looking at it Lou! A outstanding piece of history! Thanks for sharing Lou!
High praise Steve Flad :-) You're welcome, Lou

What a departure the’57’s must have been when they hit the showrooms after 7 years of look alike models. I have never seen a’57 Biarritz. What a beautiful car.

Awesome Lou《☆》Bumper exit exhaust is the coolest thing since popcicles🤠☻🤠
Hi BDOG JR, Cool analogy :-) Lou
This 1957 Cadillac El Dorado Biarritz (pronounced 'bee-ar-itz') was Harley Earl's guilty pleasure of a concept car he talked GM into production, along with the outrageously expensive 1957-58 El Dorado Brougham 4-door hardtops. He drove a personal car version of this one, retiring his 1951 GM LeSabre to the Sloan Museum, and in early 1958 he "refreshed" it with his 1959 Cadillac style tailfins. A true Harley Earl masterpiece!
Hi Dejael, Happy to read "A true Harley Earl masterpiece!" :-) Lou
Beautiful!
Glad to read you enjoy the looks of this car :-)

This has to be one of the all time greatest designs in American automotive history, absolutely beautiful. Just to think that in 1957 you could go to your Cadillac dealer and but one. I hope the buyers back then appreciated what they had.

The Most beautiful American convertible of the 1950’s, period.
High praise :-)
Lou, the Caddy was truly stunning, but I NEED to know... what was that hot little red car in front of it?
Hi John A, I'm not sure, however I know it's also part of the Petersen Collection. Lou
@@cymoncyrado2879nice never heard of it but cool car
@@cymoncyrado2879 and
There is a big difference from the 56 to the 57. Way back when I was 15 I fell for a 56 Eldorado ragtop, it was for sale at a Citroen dealership which was probably the only one in English speaking Canada. The car was likely full of bondo, I didn’t care, 500 bucks and it could have been mine! I had the money. My father laid down the law. NO! Too much money! I remember it well, white, red interior and when I popped the hood there was an air breather in the shape of a huge triangle. One never forgets their first love do they? ❤️
Hi Trip Reviews, Ahhhh, the 1st love :-) Thanks for sharing your story, Lou
That's probably was Mr. Drysdale drove up to the Clampett's mansion in...
Good one :-)
Chrysler Corporation provided the cars for the Beverly Hillbillies. Wouldn't have been a Cadillac or Lincoln in sought only an Imperial.
Almost unbelievable classic, design aspects are unlimited for this year. Only limited by the advancement of technology!

Hi Carl, Happy to share this Red One with you :-) Stay tuned... Lou
Stunningly beautiful car!! I noticed there were 4 parking lights under the front bumper or was that 2 parking lights and 2 fog lights?
Hi dshep47
, Happy to read you enjoy the looks of this car :-) Hmmm, not sure about the functionality of those lights. Hoping a Viewer can share knowledge. Hope you see many more cars on this UA-cam Channel you'll enjoy, Lou
The four lights are fog and directional signal lights! From the back of the door forward, the body is basically the same as a coupe DeVille convertible!
Oh, wow. like a 4000lb piece of candy. The DeVille got all the love from this era. You don't see a lot of Eldorados. How swanky! I just love that barrel clock! What a stunner.
Todd Wall oh hell no more like 5,000 lbs
@@danconlan64
Yep , it was 4930 from the factory with just enough gas to get it to the dealer and a short drive .
Curb weight was about 5100 plus the 200 Lb Texan .

in the late 50s there was a white one parked on 30th & Church St. in San Francisco. Didn’t Paul Newman drive one in the movie Hud? Beautiful thanks Lou, enjoyed!

This is a REAL Cadillac!!!
Nice :-)
Wow. Beautiful car. Would love to drive one .
Glad to receive a "Wow" from you :-)
I had pointed out in a different video for a 57 like this that the designers back them had a theme for the car that was carried through from the front to the rear.
Take note at the 07:29 mark how the rear brake lights replicate the headlight theme for the eyebrow and recessed Lens . The exhaust port has a mini-dagmar and a upper Fin to match the trunk tailfins.
The front bumper has similar dual ports on each side with lights in them while the rear has 1 exhaust and 1 reverse Light .
This car would make Jacob Epstein smile and admire is as Art scupted from clay and given life as moving Art on the Boulevard where the Museum comes to you .
Hi Gary wood, Thank you for viewing and sharing the details you notice, Lou
Beauuuuuutiful! ❤️❤️❤️
Glad to read you enjoy the looks of this car :-)
Lou I seen lot of cars but I love ❤️ this 🤪 she is soo beautiful she could talk prettiest car I ever seen Lou
High praise Carlton Dobbs :-)
The “barrel clock” seems unique to this Caddy. When the sun heats the crests on the seat backs, are the passenger’s backs “branded?” Please forgive me for a “steer” in that direction!
Hi Fred, Thanks for sharing what you notice. Haven't read or heard of anyone being "branded" by the sun heated crests on the back seats. I'll guess most people in a Cadillac had shirts and or coats on to protect from such a situation happening, Lou
Lou, It's a BEE a ritz!!!!!!
Thank you Robert for sharing your knowledge.
Missing the 2x4 barrel carbs and bat wing oil bath air cleaner as well as original power top switch but fortunately, converted generator to an alternator!!! FABULOUS CAR OVERALL THOUGH,!

You said it is a 56 at first instead of 57! My 57 Biarritz is the same color combination! I also believe the fiberglass top cover is called a parade boot... this car should have had the 2x4 carb set up with the batwing air cleaner. The back up lights aren't original to the car either. However, this is a spectacular car!! Kudos to Leslie as always...
Hi from Clark, Happy to read you have a cool car too. Thanks for viewing and sharing, Lou
Hey Lou. Beautiful looking Cadillac. :)
Hey Jason, Glad you enjoy the looks of this Cadillac :-) Lou
My Brother bought one 2 years old back In the day.
You're Brother has great taste in cars :-)
I think the original owner didn't opt for tinted windows as I saw a vid on a 55 with tint. I wonder if there was an option at all.
Hi Michael, Hmmm, check this video, and in the "trunk & treat" section, maybe there will be a clue, Lou ua-cam.com/video/-3jMgI_wzlw/v-deo.html

It doesn't seem to have the cool tinted windows that other 57 caddies have. Is 57 the transition year of Cadillac to tinted glass?
Hi Michael Lin, As you found, that 55 Caddy has tinted glass too, Lou
A neighbor had one of these in all white with the factory magnesium wheels when I was a kid. Unlike this nice example it had rust issues.
My classmates father had one that was green with green inside but it was only the Eldorado convertible . This was in 1977 and it sat next to the hosue with a cover over it.
One day a cadillac fan had diven by and caught a glimps of the lower rear bumper
and knew exactly what it was. He stopped to look at it and saw that it was a convertible.
This was a very rare car in my City and it was from lower California in great shape worth restoring . It wasn't for sale until the person hit that magic number where it can Buy new memories .
Hi Sandor Horvath, Happy to read this car brings back memories of your neighbors car :-) Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou
I realize its a convertible, but this car should have factory air. Top of the line.
A/C would be nice.
That car came with a 390 6.4 L if I not mistake also 6.0 365 engine.

amazing condition great car was it restored or all original?
Hi Bram Hugo de Gruijter, I'm not 100% sure, however I'd say from the paint, it might be all original, Lou
@@loucostabile wow that first owner must have treated her like she was the 57 Plymouth Fury in the film Christine perhaps even her mileage runs backward after polishing lol
Cadillac used to make alot of money off celebrities in my time, owning a 54 once myself, of course lol
Hi Marilyn Monroe, Thank you for viewing and sharing your knowledge, Lou
Why is there an electric radiator fan? If the engine is tuned and operating properly, there should be no need for that fan.
CA car seems to need more cooling.
I dont see an autronic eye? Maybe I'm missing it?
Hmmm, not sure, maybe behind the grill?
Hi Lou I'll have to sell two houses to buy that

Cadillac in 1957 telegraphed on the Eldorado the fins that they would use on all the 1958 line-up. They did not continue to do that, probably because it gave away too much styling information to the competition.
