How can people can put a thumb down ? Will gives us many tips to be better in renderings to improve our workflow and works qualities ! So I can only say ; keep going Will and thanks for your tutorials !
Thanks. I could try, but I am not sure how it would differ from the cloudy plastic tutorial. Cloudy plastic relies on sss quite a bit. However, if you have other suggestions, I'm all ears. Thanks.
Will Gibbons I’ll go and rewatch that. Many of the products I work with (i.e. Apple-seque earbuds) use solid white with a very slight SSS. Trick is calculating just the right amount. I’m trying to train my team to add a little color to environments that have objects like these to avoid that dull grey look.
It's a very good video to show the different plastic rendering details. May I ask if I need the outside is completed smooth and inside milky PP mater of the bottle, and i need the thickness deep feel of it. Should I divide the body into 2 surface? Thank you.
Thanks Will, all your videos have been super helpful! I was wondering if you could have a go at a pressed cork type material. I've played around with a few different procedural materials but can't get anything close to realistic looking. Thanks again.
Great suggestion! I've had that request before. Can't say I know how it'll work out. I think it's possible, but won't look like a nice, natural wine cork, but more like those cheaper cork tack boards you find at an office supply store. That said. I'll add it to the list. Thanks.
If you have a 100% black background color (set in environment settings) and you do NOT have a physical ground plane and you render as PNG with Alpha it will work.
Hello will gobbins how are you. I have a question for you. I made a tea set on rhinoceros 6 i want to render on my keyshot 9 pro but i face a problem that i put a bump material in the center part of tea set it capturing spout and cap also. In rhinoceros I put veere material in it. Capturing different part in different par in tea set in different centre in different cap in different spout material but still after that. I need the material in the body part of tea set and the cap and spout is captured on the entire part 🙁
I'm sorry you're having trouble. Unfortunately, I'm having a hard time understanding your question. Normally to keep textures on only one part or material, you need to right-click on the part and 'unlink material'. I hope that helps.
@@WillGibbons yess i know that a few weeks ago I work keyshot 6 and i do bump texture in medial part keyshot 6 did it. But keyshot 9 pro capturing whole model.
Hi, great tutorial! I'm trying to get the LED shine through thinner part of a white hard plastic. It is for embossed logo that's suppose to shine through on a front plate of a device. If I add transparency the whole plate (2mm thick) shines through. If I leave it as hard plastic the 1mm bit that shines through in real life does not in KeyShot. I added a logo emissive label but that doesn't look realistic and I tried to uv unwrap the front plate logo bit and reduce opacity just for that.. still, not the best result as there's no glow around the logo edges. Also, I'm using an area light with 50-100 lumens depend on the environment lighting scene. Any idea how to solve this, please?
Honestly, probably using a cloudy plastic material and playing with the cloudiness and transparency distance is your best bet. You'll need to try and match the properties of the material in real life and the light source as well. In theory, if your settings are correct, the thicker parts should let less light through.
@@WillGibbons thank you so much! I'll give it a go. I must say your tutorials and the quality of your work is amazing :) please don't stop making videos, all the best!
I just clicked to say it's a delight someone dealt with plastic in rendering. Can't wait to find time to watch it properly.
Fanstastic!

@@WillGibbons looking at like-dislike ratio, i can it's true!
thank you Will Gibbons. I learned something more today for KeyShot. Loves from Turkey
You are welcome!
You not only have the knowledge but the communication skill to let people learn from you!
Thanks a ton!
This is the most in depth plastic tutorial I’ve seen! Thanks to share this knowledge with us Will
Glad it was helpful! Thanks man. I hadn't thought about it before, but after someone requested it, I thought it made sense.
Excellent as always, thanks Will!
Thanks Stephen!
awesome as always, well explained
Thank you! Cheers!
Thanks a lot mr Will really you entred our hearts by these lessons
It's my pleasure!
i have just start watching video. and i guess from the title that this is the video that i am waiting for most....thanks will
Hope you like it!

Thank you.
Nope. Just keep it a solid and use textures to control the roughness on each surface. I show how to do this in the speckled mug tutorial.

how can we make shadow black so we can use transparent PNG with shadow on any color background?

For sure!
Thanks for the detail toturial but can i have a request to make an video for realistic worn plastics
Yeah. I think that would be a good topic at some point. Thanks for the request!

Hello, is there a posibility of you teaching us how to import texture maps on our models in keyshot? And i love the content, thank you so much
You can actually just drag from your computer browser into the KeyShot interface, right onto the model.

hi i have keyshot 10 and i cant put the diffuse checker on the floor can someone help me?
You probably need to make sure there's a ground plane first (ctrl+g)
One question the Amd ryzen 5 5500u is better or intel i5 11300h? pls answer it. thank you, i need keyshot expert users, opinion.
Not sure 100%, but the AMD has more cores and a similar boost clock, so probably the AMD will be a bit faster.
Thank you
Welcome!
where could i get the Bump texture? thank you
maybe could yours in the drive link? i couldn't find on google :/
Sorry, I'm not sure which bump texture you mean. Usually, I use textures that are already part of KeyShot.
Nice sir 👍👌
Thanks and welcome
hello, please tell me how to make transparent silicone
Please watch my video on Cloudy Plastic. That will help you get there.
@@WillGibbons thanks
I can't apply the material on the ground plate
ctrl+g on the keyboard adds the ground plane. Make sure you have one in the scene first.
How about creating a tutorial on how to render human skin?
Thanks for your comment. That's definitely outside of my wheelhouse. Not sure I'll get into that. We'll see though. Never say never, I suppose.
@@WillGibbons Thanks, you're doing a great work.
please fix your mic , it has a very irritating vibrance frequencies on the background
Sorry you were bothered by it. I can't help that I live by train tracks and I have no control when a train has to pass behind my apartment.
