    Have you thought of engraving out of the trailer? Maybe adding a small A/C unit or fan to keep things cool-ish. I've done a few flea markets and have seen several vendors do this.

    Love the videos, you have been an inspiration for me to start this laser engraving business.I have owned a xtool d1 for about a year now and ,just ordered an xtool F1 laser and signed up for a couple of events already today. I was hoping you would have some good advice on where to purchase blanks such as keychains, dog tags, tumblers, coasters anything that I can make on the fly at these events that may sell well. Thanks in advance and keep up the great work!!!!

      I have had it for years. I did aerial photography as a side hustle for a while. According to the registry, it was 2017. I also still do aerial stuff for my friends with Channels.

    Very nice build! The optical shielding you provided a link for is OD 3, is that dense enough for people to safely watch the engraver at your booth?

    • @TheClackShack

      The light that is hitting the window is indirect and unfocused. The material is rated for diode machines and has been tested. I run the same windows in my shop for over a year and no issues. I have also found that you can cut it with a diode so that means it is absorbing the light. The reason I purchase from JTech is that they test it and know way more about it than I do.

    Very informative, thanks for sharing. One question I have is how many pieces of a certain type of small item do you typically take to a show? Seems a balance between so few you sell out quickly and overloading with way too much is needed. I know the answer will vary for everyone but a point of departure number would be helpful

    • @TheClackShack
      @TheClackShack  Рік тому

      I keep blanks with me, I can restock certain designs as needed. Small things I keep about 10 of each on hand made. I sell more made at site things.

    I use a Beelink mini computer and a small monitor. Saves space and good for running laser/lightburn. Small Monitor not great for designing but functional. A 15" monitor is fine.

      I just use it for transporting. I don't wanna modify the trailer because I use it to carry lumber and tools when doing work sometimes.

    • @Vintauri
      @Vintauri Рік тому +2

      Working in the trailer is probably easier on you and the setup, however, part of the allure is people seeing the laser work (safely that is) and if you're in the trailer you'll need someone watching the booth to not lose sales. Half of the event is you selling yourself as the maker. If they can't see you or talk to you, they'll move on.

    I've been thinking about trying to take a laser to events but power is the issue. Most of the outdoor events we do are set up in a way that wouldn't allow a gas generator. Have you ever tried a battery power ststion like an Eco Flow or Jackery? I wonder how long it would last before it went dead. I can't imagine the diode laser uses much energy.
