    One thing to note is that you are correct when saying that new clock springs come centered however that is not always the case with Nissans. I have had brand new ones bought from the dealer that were not centered and also the sales guy said something that confirmed my hypotysis:” tell your mechanic to be extra carefull when fiiting as they arr very sensitive, our technicians broke a few new ones”. Good thing is that I always center them even if new and to my surprise I found two from Nissan that were not and if I was to fit them like that at the first full lock it would have broke.

    Great fix. I knew the radio controls were not working before you mentioned the customer asking. Also typical sticking starter. The cowboys who been there before, don't care. Sad you can't say who the Ebay seller is. The seller if honest mistake, should check their stock before dispatch. Looks like a return that was switched! I use a seller based in Surrey, and they are reliable.

    One day that aggravation will turn into satisfaction Luis . I might piss off some people , but these DIY screw ups that I have to do over are a nice source for me to charge extra . Yes , extra . Take it or leave it . The investment I have to make to stay up to date and actually repair something in a professional way needs to come from somewhere and this is for sure not coming from my regulars . I am totally honest with those " victims " . Paying me is still cheaper than going to a dealership .

    Another botched one!! i would be livid!!! Luis, understand that buying from ebay puts more money in everyones pocket (yours and the customers). I am sure that you have great success with this method, but I believe its just not worth it, if you can find it at local parts store / dealership... Because parts take forever to arrive and when they arrive broken, you need to send it back, they analize it and send you a new one (if they dont try to argue). To me is just not worth the hassle . I go to the local parts store / dealership and buy it right away or orderit to the same day or next day the most. And if the part is DOA, is much easier to take care of it.... Not trying to tell you how to run your shop or telling you whats is right or wrong, as I am a small DIYer. Just sharing my thoughts. Also in the end of the video you said you were going to ask the guy for the money back. You should use paypal. you probably do and was just a way of speaking. But if you dont, just use it. They will refund you first and ask questions later.. Great video as usual! keep up the good work!

    • @LMAutoRepairs
      @LMAutoRepairs  3 роки тому

      I am just like you a DIYer... no shop here...😋
      Apart from dealers, I had issues with faulty parts from local shops as well... like Euro Carparts and alike...
      I published a video on a Vauxhall rocket case cover showing just that...
      I would happily buy always from the dealers... As you said, less assle etc...
      But not every car owner is willing to pay for that...
      Specially the ones that you explain what the faulty part is, and the first thing they do is grab the phone and see how much is on eBay...🤷‍♂️
      I am sure you know what I mean...😋

    The A pillar trims hold the top section of the dash in place. 2 minute job to remove then top of dash comes off easily. I have to remove them because I'm the world champion at dropping screws. Customers always deny knowing about tape or leds in the clocks. Too tight to spend 20 quid on eBay for a new clock spring. IT (idiot tax) time. U just have to be careful with the cheap eBay units because the white plug can be tight going in and it usually needs a tiny chamfer. Don't you just love jobs like this.

      You must have started a function test at some point...
      You now must to successfully compete it, or you can't clear that code...

    Not sure when you made this however since the lockdowns there have been many more scams around.
    You will find the ebayer will be very cooperative and will give you money back without any fuss at all (they may not even want you to return the part). They will probably give you a convincing story of how the parts got swapped over usually along the lines of being done by their supplier.
    However, I suspect they deliberately misrepresent an item knowing only a small percentage complain so they can significantly increase their incomes by playing the risks.
