I have been waiting LITERAL YEARS for Shack to finally play Some x4 and especially the Star wars mod! Hopefully this turns into a full series that gains loads of traction!!! I know x4 SW mod needs a decent YT series
I can tell you have FXAA on. The mod looks significantly better if you set it to MSAA 8X because it smooths out distant laser blasts, so they don't look like red and green pixels. It doesn't affect performance as much as you would think either, mainly because your CPU will bottleneck your performance faster than your GPU will due to the amount of AI present.
We need a series with this ! The Council approved !
I would like to see you talk about the mod as a whole. Not much, but maybe go over the factions, their Ships, what to expect, etc.

800+ million for the Battleship blueprint if you want to have one, but you can buy the freighter and droid control (combat logistics) versions directly from a shipyard if you have the money.

I just downloaded 80GB of mods for a sci-fi campaign my group is starting lol
I looked into my Medieval Total War2 Mods Folder once and found 90GB worth of mods; the games only 11GB.
A good heavily moddable game will have you reach if not surpass the base game size every single time

3.6 gig download. It's 9 gigs when extracted from the zip.
Really, really game dependent. I've got over 500 mods for RimWorld, which is barely 3GB and a third of that is source code or previous game version files. Granted, I've heard of people claiming some 1200 mods on that game, which... yeah. On the other hand, Stellaris' mod count is half that and the size is at least 40GB according to Steam. Hell if I know how much else I've got, but probably lots.
Kinda wish I could play this again, but my computer's down to one ancient graphics card right now. That, that'd make it explode, even if the rest of the hardware could run it.

This game looks really cool, you can go from the fleet commander all the way down to a fighter and even on foot and thats dope
So you can control the fleet from the map and take part in the fight yourself... Empire at War with first person direct control mode!
What I especially love with X4 is the added immersion with walking around the ship. I just want to be able to fly to a destination and do crew stuff around the ship and just feel immersed. Plus it's singleplayer so you can expect mods, you can cheat or sandbox or whatever you want to have fun, and can save and everything.
I was just playing this last night. Super excited. If only one day we can have this as a multiplayer game or MMO.
Holy cow! This is actually pretty great! I was waiting to see what the first full conversion mod would look like for X4. I only wish X4 had better shield hit graphics. Sucks that the shield effects are non existent in the game still even after all the expansions.
Glad I kept watching instead of clicking off after seeing the game listed as Star Citizen.
you should really consider doing an imperial campaign of this game it would make an epic story to grand admiral shed and his story on his rise to power! :)

I've never played a game like this before but this mod alone and you telling me what you can do in it just sold me on it.
Ooh major update huh. The star wars conversion mod is what got me into X3 so much fun
The mod has been around but it finally brought in the full map and the overhaul to the factions. Its fantastic and totally playable now. It was just fun to dink around in before but its more on par with the overhaul for x3 now.
The X4 mod is significantly better imo to the X3 mod due to its presentation and stability. The combat is much better, the ships looks better, the effects are amazing due to X4's built-in glowmaps, and it just runs better without them having to totally gut the combat system like Litcube did (main reason I couldn't get into litcubes mod and X3 star wars was because of how anemic and boring the combat was).
I would love to see a long play through of this! I can't wait until you capture some crazy ships!
This is coolest fucking mod I have ever seen for a game. I used to play the SIns of a Galactic empire mod, it's just a fucking fact that Star Wars has the coolest and best ships and best sound design, Star Wars anything makes every space game 10x better.
Imagine if this was multiplayer and players were captaining most if not all of the ships. That would be the ultimate Star Wars experience

This looks dope but I don't like the new republic, I'm playing a custom startup and I'm loving it. It just takes some time to get used to the controls but its like empire at war, elite dangerous and a little star trek online mix together. Amazing mod 10/10

New Republic allows for a massive amount of variety and game play, theoretically.
I checked it out further, I misunderstood the factons (you can start as a natural and not have to be pinned down to empire or new republic. i bought the game and I'm planning it now, I have to say its amazing times 1000, I just have to get the menus and controls down

X4 is already good so it's cool that you can take what they built and mod in a different universe and balance it the way you want.
One thing missing from the x3 version was uglies for pirates, man i would love uglies as a concept in x4, bolt on anything you could find
Shift + D is the command to teleport to the teleport pad. Easy accidentally hit
Need a series! This looks amazing and I would love to see you start from the beginning, maybe you could find a venetor
shift+d will teleport you to your ship. If you are at a station with multiple of your ships docked it will give you a list to choose from.
X4 works even better for this mod then X3 did. just wish I could run x4 better then 30 max fps atm

millenium falcon and razorcrest have full interior, in the latest update there s an actual tram in a spacestation that you can ride to travel around the spacestation

Have you heard of battlegroup VR? You get to command your fleets from the bridge of your command ship. I would highly recommend looking into it

I bought this game a while back and only played 6 hours. I now regret not getting into it more because this looks amazing. Reinstalling as I type this.
Good luck and have fun. The mod's still in development and still getting updates but they should be save game compatible from here on out

I really want to play that. Look fun and I've been putting a lot of time into Xwing Alliance, however, I have star citizen to play. I am also worried that I may run out of things to do in the game or worst it begins to crash on me
Love the video though and the game as a whole. Do wish there was a little CQC action where the player could board with marines and fight inside the ship :).
The modd looks good. I'm looming for an alternative to Elite Dangerous. Puzzled by the flying in tbis vid. Is it the UA-camr lack of skill in flying or is it the game engine limited in the kind of flight maneuvers you can use?????
How hard is this to learn/get into if you’ve never played an X game before?
It will seem overly complicated to start but really, after very little time, you will pick it up just fine. Start simple with a fighter and gradually work your rep up and increase your ship catalog...eventually you'll be making space stations and running your own empire in not time at all! (or so it'll seem...X4 SWI really is a time sponge).

!!!I've encountered a bug and was wondering if anyone knew how to fix it!!!!
i have completely lost the ability to go to the map and give any of my ships orders. i have lost the ability to give commands or set my ship guidance completely. i checked the hotkeys and they seem fine, i restored them to default my loading the default loadout, and i even reassigned keys but nothing works.
i deleted all the files and reinstalled the game, and i can do it in the vanilla game just fine but the moment i load up interworlds, i lose te ability to give orders.
anyone know how to fix this?

Yes, several of the factions use them as their capital classes. Check the wiki for all the ships
When he was playing the X3 version of this mod he had one, he loaded it full of A-wings and would “release the bees” when ever he got into combat. It’s where his Bees emote on Twitch came from
Oh yes, Venators, ISD-1/2's, Providence, Munificent, Mc-80, pretty much the bulk of any SW ship you have seen or heard of...of course, ships are being added regularly and there's still a ways to go but there's a great deal of choice.

Yes, it's a full on sandbox. The vong are slightly there right now. Just the fighters and the rest are base game models. The base game has rogue ai that expand and vong are taking their place it seems.
yes there is, the vanilla game has probably the most complex dynamic npc sandbox universe in gaming right now

I want to jump into this. But can you lock the gimballed x wing weapons forward? Like have no auto aim on them?
I felt whoever did the conversion put a TON of effort in but then screwed the pooch forcing the world changes into play. I enjoyed the great sound effects and the mostly fair graphics work, as well as some really great work with the map / sectors. Certainly passes snuff. But the gameplay dynamics and economies do not bring any worldly feeling of a Star Wars universe to the program, and in fact feel utterly foreign. Who hired the anti-social, angry DM to write that stuff? Fire him/her/they/them/it. I did a full playthrough on X4 looking forward excitedly to loading up SWI:TC as what appeared to be a huge improvement. It was a poop pile. I'll stick to Tie Fighter: TC.

hey shack I was wondering if you going to continue Republic at war and then awakening of the rebellion?
X4 is a pretty complicated game to learn, I wish they had tutorials for this mod. Cuz downloading it and starting it for the first time, for a newbie is pretty much impossible to learn.
The mod honestly makes it a little easier simply because you get these starter mails that explain some stuff and it has a custom mission system that adds basic missions for making money that are fun and easy to participate in with basic ships and little equipment.
is there a was just to install the X-wing and the Imp Battle Ships?
