Fantastic. Imagine if a star wars game actually was about war among the stars. Open sandbox and with full interior at least for icon ships such as millenium falcon. And capital ship key areas.
This is an amazing clip to test bassiness and the distortion limit of headphones. Specially from 7:46, the explosion after a minute or so also tests out the treble if it is too sharp or perfect. Good audio system!
Feel the power for a capital ship a Star Destroyer is quite lacking unbefitting of the name Capital Ship or Mobile Fortress except for the intimidation of its size, no wonder why the small Rebels ship could easily destroy a Star Destroyer because its weapon is on the broadside facing arc with limited coverage. What's the use of having a wider hull/body if u can only put 6 to 8 turrets on each side and near the back of the ship when u can literally put more Turbo Laser Turrets all over the wide hull on a frontal-facing arc with greater coverage. If only Star Destroyers have more turrets maybe the rebels could not withstand the massive firepower dishing out from a single Star Destroyer in numerous SD on a fleet now that's what I called an absolute meat-grinder and the Galactic Empire Reign Supreme. For example, look at the Infinity it may be called a Supercarrier but it has all firepower of a Dreadnought both offense and defense, so for me the Infinity can be also called a mobile fortress coupled with super strong and durable shields It is an absolute beast that is able to face a Covenant Fleet with the help of onboard Frigates now that's what would I called a 1 ship armada.
I literally recommend this game just because of the existence of this mod. Don’t like the base game? I think anyone who has been a fan of ANYTHING Star Wars in the past can find some fun in this mod.
Don't be deceived by a few videos of fleet battles, X4: Foundations (the game this mod is for) is a slow burn economy building dynamic map that takes hours and hours to get your first big ship, its not just a fleet combat game or even a strategy game, rather its' a persistent singleplayer galaxy.
I've been dreaming of a SW open galaxy game where you can captain the capital ships... I'm weird in that I find it more fun for the big ships, than for the fighters
@@lrcolville1 I greatly enjoyed EaW and modded the hell out of it to increase the size of battles and also add more ships and more accurately sized ships. What I want though, is to command a single ship, where I'm on the bridge(It can have third person) and like, I give orders to other ships if I'm high enough rank, "Go attack that escort ship" and the AI be smart enough to move and attack without me doing turn by turn commands. Maybe one day XD One that came close that I played was X3, I haven't bought X4 yet. So, this mod makes me interested
@theghostgeneral3382 this mod is pretty stable. Has its own star wars map and every ship is pilotable. You can assign carrier led fleets or fly the carrier yourself.
@@Intelx You only have to learn it once. The games more or less operate on the same principles since X-Beyond the Frontier (1999), so if you begin with an earlier game, you will still understand the newer ones. For example, I began with X2 The Threat (2004) and it's just a matter of getting used to the different UI layout for me, since the core mechanics of the games are the same.
I would say you need to really devote about 20-30 hours to get used to the whole economy and what strategies actually work, but you can kind of learn as you play. It's a great game to get through winter though.
In the official game there's the battleship Asgard that is probably the most powerful ship of X4, that is essentially an Star Destroyer with a big lazer mounted cannon in the middle.
I love the big ships in the mod but I kept running into troubles where the ai controlled crafts stuck themselves into the insides of the ship while leaving or arriving to the hangars

Star Destroyers' limited firing arc-facing turrets and also limited turrets were the final weakness of this capital ship, even though it was called a capital ship but it lacks the absolute firepower to be called as 1 except for being bigger and intimidating. Capital Ships in sci-fi are terms only given to the biggest ships in the fleet and also the biggest firepower that surpasses any dreadnoughts in terms of offensive and defensive capabilities. Star Destroyers are a flawed ship that has a wider hull that is supposed to have more turrets in placement all over the hull facing forward that would have greater coverage than placing a turret in a superstructure and on a broadside arc. Capital Ships are also called moving mobile fortresses + with the help of smaller ships to take the defensive role while capital ships serve as offensive weapons platforms dishing out major damages to any enemy fleet.
Ship classification is more based upon size/role. ISD main gun firing arcs are fine given the fact that they are solely used to actively engage anything, as in flying towards it and blasting it out of space if the TIE's weren't quicker. They also heavily outgun anything the galaxy had to offer at that point (even before the ISD2). Also they have point defense guns all over the hull. How they are used was their flaw, as their role was to singlehandedly police any space they oversaw and thus seldomly got escorted by smaller ships.
All I have ever wanted an open world star wars galaxy survival world-war style of gameplay where you could team up, pull resources and have servers with thousands of players all interacting and being forced to work together as groups, and servers set in different galatic eras.... think like a galaxy wide version of planetside, crossed with star citizen... evidently EA and Disney are too busy to provide us with such content lol ..... gg rip
@@mainomai I think, even with the same start scenario the station spawn location is still random on the galaxy map. Maybe there is a random enemy encounter chance too, or it is based on the system you find the station
I hit lvl 10 rep w/ the Empire, but idk how to get an officer commission to climb higher ranks for access to bigger ships. Do i need to wait on a mission for the commission? I just got this yesterday and haven't played vanilla.
With the Interworlds Mod, you should get an message under your Player´s Infotab. There are conditions listed to increase your Rank for the different Factions. Most Factions want you to build some Factory´s and Defense Stations in their sectors. In X4 - Vanilla hitting 10Rep / 20Rep is enough to unlock the Ranks.

IIRC the promotions are tied to your "citizen status", which requires you to go through certain tiers of wealth (in addition to rep) before you become nominated for promotions. You then get a promotion missions, which requieres you to travel to the factions representative and accept it. You should have recieved a message at the start of the game explaining the citizen mechanic, its probably still there if you havent deleted it. It also lists the tiers of wealth. If you struggle to generate wealth, start with a mining outpost in imp production sectors, should give you a good income which you should invest in more mining equipment.

There is no sound in space. You need enough gas in the atmosphere to transmit it. And space has NO atmosphere. So at best the pilot would hear sounds of his own ship and sounds of shots hitting him. He wouldnt even hear another ship exploding next to him till it's deebris hit him...
That clip was recorded with 8xMSAA and all other settings on ultra, got around 30FPS. I normally play on ultra with FXAA at around 55-70 FPS. With an mod to disable fog, it can go up to 100-110 FPS.
The mod is called No Fog, it is at the steam workshop. It really helps in some sectors, but in large scale battles or when many ship assets shown in conflict zones it still takes a good performance hit. It only looks that way. The UI is easy to learn through practice. Alternatively, there are tutorial starts for new players within the game.

what mission is the one to destroy the unknown guarding the unknown station?
It is the mission to unlock the Player-HQ, the mission will show up after getting close to the station

My Plan was that the ISD-1 stayed at 13km Range. I was so stunned watching the Bomber Squadron that i forgot to put the ISD-1 Engines at Idle 😅
