Learn how to create a flaming character with Niagara in Unreal Engine 5 in this step-by-step tutorial. We'll start by creating a new project and importing a character model. Then, we'll create a Niagara system to generate the flames. We'll also create a material to make the character look like they are on fire. Finally, we'll add some flame orbs to fly around the character.
This tutorial is perfect for anyone who wants to learn how to use Niagara to create realistic fire effects in Unreal Engine 5. By following the steps in this tutorial, you will be able to create a flaming character that looks like it came straight out of a movie.
Here are some of the things you will learn in this tutorial:
How to create a Niagara system
How to add a fire particle emitter to a Niagara system
How to configure a fire particle emitter
How to create a material to make a character look like they are on fire
How to add flame orbs to fly around a character
I hope you enjoy this tutorial!

Can this be used on regular static meshes? When I try and drag a regular static mesh into the preview mesh, the slot rejects the static mesh.

I am noticing that there is a large buildup of particles on my feet and hands. Isn't there a way to "weigh", as with rigs, the parts from which the particles arise?

You can ask out bones and regions etc, with the sample mesh

cant attach this correctly to skeletal mesh for some reason... it spawns at world pos 000 and move separately from actual mesh for some reason

I have the fire body emitter attached but when I move the particles go ahead of the character, they stay human shaped but they are ahead of the character when in motion. Fix?
