I think what's working for me (so far) is that I'm not holding myself to NOT buying yarn - I'm just shopping from my stash first to see what pretty yarns I already have to try and use them first. I think it's just the psychological notion that I'm not "forbidding" myself. Just trying a different way to look at it :) Maybe that will help you!

Forgot to mention I too am seriously trying to not buy yarn this year, but I struggle with this self regulating behavior. I feel punished! 🤪
