It's a valid point when people complain about the open canopies. And while some toys had a 'glass' inlay, I always assumed that these super army toys have a high polymer bullet proof glass. Whether it was clear plastic or empty space. Not to mention the pitched angles may be conducive to deflecting small arms fire. Otherwise, none of these soldiers would survive their first mission!
I loved my Sky Sweeper as a child. It and the Dominator was all I got from BF2000.
At least the Dominator did sort of look like a tank!

I have Knockdown coming soon. I'm not sure I'm interested in any vehicles except for the Dominator, though. I look forward to getting him.
I like the vehicle but the figure is far more interesting and higher quality. Knockdown is just awesome at every point.

This whole series is a great insight for me; I was never aware of these as a kid.

Knockdown was one of my favourites as a kid. He looks amazing, and feels like a soldier carrying around a lot of technologically advanced kit. Hell, that helmet is practically Google Glass.
The helmet has a lot going on. I did have more comments about the helmet, but that clip got inadvertently left out.
These vehicles and action figures are just the start of the new GI Joe. Not my cup of tea, but I've been enjoying this series. Keep up the good work HCC.
this is the vehicle I had as a kid but I got Dodger instead of Knockdown. at the time I didn't realize these vehicles came with certain drivers

While not my favorite BF2000 vehicle I really dig that battle station. It kinda reminds me of a stationary SNAKE armor.
Yeah, it does sort of fit the role of a single-person armor, not not mobile like the SNAKE.

I could see kids having fun with these types of toys if they are not bothered by realism. I really don't mean any offense by that to anyone, it's perfectly fine to like them. The early Joes were more about realism relatively speaking, and that was my interest. As for the Sky Sweeper I feel the gray metal made the other colors work together but I don't like the vehicle personally. Knockdown looks to be a football player from Flash Gordon. Always like the review. Back to watching Star Wars celebration 2017! Yo Joe and may the force be with you always!
What amazes me is how deadly accurate BF2000 was in predicting the future. I have to admit I respect BF2000 for providing such a perfect insight into the future of military weapons. You look at the U.S. Military today, and it looks exactly like BF2000.

this was my least favorite of BF 2K when it came out in 87. I think I'd had enough "fake treads" toys and Destro's IG Demon was my quota for that time. After getting the Sky Sweeper for myself (used one off eBay in 2015) I sort of like it overall. I can see a lot of positives, but that control cockpit is pretty lame and should have been similar to the Havoc's enclosed one, aside from face down driver position. Lots of features for a not so stellar toy lines individual vehicle. And the rear of the vehicle looks pretty cool without a figure manning the gun. I think the cockpit should have had screens to assist Knockdown when aiming and driving. Can't just eyeball stuff all the time. GREAT REVIEW!! Almost there!! you keep going HCC!

Wow ! Hasbro made " Moon Patrol " computer game vehicle !? :P Ah I saw many unpractical hand guns but this pistol ?
A real big missed opportunity for Hasbro would be to release "refined" versions of the BF2000 vehicles for regular GI Joe with changes based on customer feedback (and without the combination ability that was more of a gimic than anything). Someone should do that.

+HCC Thanks! I'd like to ask you something. I'm not sure about the best way to phrase this so it may seem blunt. Do you think the GI Joe brand can be revived back to its glory days of the 80s with a cartoon and everything? Or has the world and society changed so much that GI Joe's time has passed? Transforms are still around and still popular, but when I visit my local Target (which stinks when it comes to getting Hasbro stuff) hardly see any Joe toys. I just see so much potential in this IP that can be handled in many ways, but it has to be handled right.
As for my vision of an updated Sky Sweeper, I'd make the tank a little longer and instead of the bunker thing in the middle I'd give it a larger engine and battery compartments. The AA lasers would still rotate 360 but could also be angled out to the sides some. Drop the rockets and have the cockpit be something like the front end of a bus but curved in the front to help deflect force from incoming fire. The side doors would slide open so the driver can get out quickly. And give it stabilizer legs. I get the impression this kind of vehicle doesn't need to be that mobile or agile. It needs to get to a certain spot and stay stable to shoot down aircraft. Driving is secondary. Hey, maybe give it a hitch in front so it can be towed/slaved to a different vehicle.
I used this action figure to create Cable from X-Force with Big Boa arms and silver sharpie on the left arm. It looks good.

Hello! Thank you for watching. I get my Joe toys from a variety of places. I get some from local vendors. I use ebay sometimes. There are also some good G.I. Joe trading and auction groups on Facebook. I haven't been looking for the 25th anniversary figures, so I couldn't tell you about pricing.
Thanks for a great birthday episode. Unfortunate that this is just so mediocre, but I suppose they can't all be winners. In order to have Snake Eyes, you have to have Ice Cream Soldier, and occasionally...Knockdown.

Good reviews with these guys. While BF2K was not my thing as a kid. The vintage figure part was very cool. Also Batman 1989 for a pistol that shoots a plane out of the air...it's silly.

"Driver sold separately" Boooo! Obviously not all of the older vehicles came w/a figure (Fang, C.L.A.W.) , but if a vehicle was supposed to have a specific driver/pilot, he/she tended to come w/the vehicle.
Knockdown looks like a knock off Marvel's Maverick.
the sky sweeper is my favorite vehicle of the BF2000 line. the back end of the marauder is the best though. never liked the cyclops helmet or gun. knockdown was easy to pass.
