So many good memories from childhood. Thanks for the video!
BF 2000 had some really cool figs and vehicles
Vindicator vs Cobra Rat, the ultimate battle that needs to happen.
I had a Vindicator and thought it was pretty cool. This is the one BF2000 that actually made it into real life in the form of drones. Since the Vindicator isn't really a hovercraft, you could say its multiple rotors for lift is the ancestor of today's drones.
Thanks for all the hard work you did this month.
Thanks for watching!
12:23 Wow... I was a transformers kid, but when I saw this fortress, I wanted to start getting GIJoes. I got the Vector for my birthday 1989 and the rest of the series discontinued before I could collect them. I dreamed about how amazing that fortress would be. Turns out I was way better off with my imagination this time.
I had all of the battle Force 2000 except two of the vehicles. I felt the Future Fortress was a gimmick and moved on. I enjoyed the review. It was a trip down memory lane. Thanks for doing them! I was fun seeing all of the vehicles and figures. Thank again!
Thanks for watching them! I'm glad we got to bring back some memories.
I kinda enjoyed the Vindicator, Vector and the Marauder. And Blaster was the only figure that transcended BF2000 and was always included in my squad as a kiddie.
Blaster's one of the G.I. Joe characters who has a namesake in Transformers.
Now he needs to dispense cassette tapes into battle!
Blaster was the firsr Battleforce 2000 figure I got as a kid 😊
I hope you enjoyed looking at him again.
I only recently became aware of these toys and the Future Fortress and I like them. While I didn't have them as a kid I would have loved these as I preferred sci fi. Thanks for taking a look at all these HCC788 I enjoyed all the videos.
OMG! "Just kidding he's dead" would have been a great running gag throughout!
That was gold
Thanks Hooded That my favorite BF2000 Vehicle. Its really make me happy.

Cyber Tiger's reaction was priceless!
Cyber Tiger is one of my faves. :)
As unimpressive as the Future Fortress is, I have to admit the final piece does make it look far more complete than I would have expected considering how it looks with just that piece missing.
I liked seeing these bf2000 reviews because when I started collecting I vowed never to buy them then I liked a few figures so I picked them up now I'm going to buy the vehicles I am ready for better figures and vehicles but I'm a fan of the theme months from time to time thanks for another great video
Thanks Mike! I'm very happy if I've inspired you to check out something you didn't think you would want.
Wow. It's like the FSS is determined to produce modern updates on characters the overwhelming majority of fans never gave a damn about, and for ludicrous prices to boot. Sad, especially when you'd clearly do better business making modern updates of never released figures like Shipwreck's synthoid wife Myra, but then again, since the club is actually run by Hasbro, I guess if they ever released figures fans wanted, they'd do it under their own banner rather than the FSS. Great review HCC.
Great review. I was not a fan of BF2000. In fact I'm pretty sure that line was the reason I gave up Joes in around 87-88. However, I really did enjoy your reviews over the past month. Keep 'em coming!
Thank you!
I remember playing with the guns from the Vindicator distinctly. But watching this, especially the pop out mini sled, I don't think I had the rest of the toy. I inherited a fair amount of figures and things from my cousin when he outgrew G.I. Joe, but I know BattleForce 2000 was after his time. Where did I get the guns?
Blaster has a garter belt and grandma's elbows... weird. This video series has been a pleasure to watch. Thanks for your efforts. A few covered wagons circling would provide a better cover than the future fortress, Ha Ha! Best to you.
Thanks for sticking with it. :)
I really like Blaster's look EXCEPT for those elbows. They bother me too much and I can't unsee them. He's in desparate need of an arm swap. How did that ever get approved?
Great review.
Thank you!
Swapping the positions of the pieces from the Marauder and Eliminator would make it marginally better, as the missiles from the Marauder would become useful and give the person in the Eliminator section more protection.
Love these mini-crossovers :)
The Vindicator also suffers from the same issue as the Night Ravens stabilizer fins. You can put the main cannons in two configurations. The way yours is the same as my version but I have seen in the blueprints and artwork with the cannons on the outside. It also appears that there should have been a canopy to protect the drivers. But it was scrapped due to production costs.
There may have been a lot of things scrapped due to cost. I have heard there was supposed to be a base on which the Future Fortress parts would connect. I wasn't able to verify that, so I didn't include it in the review. That might have helped, but I can't give them any credit for features that didn't make it to the production toy.
thanx HCC788 I had the Battle Force 2000 figures but none of the vehicles due to they didn't appeal to me thanks for reminding me
Thanks, Mark! We gotta cover everything, even the duds!
@@HCC788 Why do you have toys you don't like? That doesn't make sense.
Using 2 Dominators would make the Future Fortress SOOO much better!
That was a great review of the Future Fortress by Cyber-Tiger!
I actually think the Vindicator would be better if it was a little bigger to get some more room in the cockpit, and if it had a canopy, instead of having the figures exposed to the enemy fire.
Thank you for your help! I was glad Cyber Tiger could make an appearance.
What you need to understand is; Blaster *really* loves hovercraft. The rest is unimportant.
Well done sir!!!!!
lol DustBuster
Thank you!
Great review this has been a really fun month of historic reviews! The Vindicator seems more like a VTOL than a Hovercraft. I never had and to this day have no BF2000 vehicles and the Future Fortress was the dorkiest gimmick ever . If it locked together as a single finished piece it would have been worth it. For me Blaster was a fave figure when I got the two-pack. I really like the removable mask and would sometimes display him with only one pegged in and the other half dangling. For me it looked cool that way. BF2000 overall seems to have been an in-fight behind the scenes that Hama appropriately ended in the comics. For me the reboot modern figures just dont pass muster. I have liked some of the updates to favorite classic figures but these veer off to far from the originals and make them of no interest to my collection. Now if Larry Hama would only write the book we need to see "Battleforce2000 and why I killed them" so we can hear the secrets. Pity you could not have squeezed in Dee-Jay who has in my opinion the single worst file-card in the entire history of GI Joe or the history of toys itself! I only wished Hasbro had done a movie crossover tie in to make a Buckaroo Banzai subteam (With battling evil Lectroid Aliens) that would have been perfect to mesh with GI Joe and prepare to battle the World Crime League!
Let's start a kickstarter for 'Battle Force 2000 and why I killed them." I think it will be big!
YEAH! 30 years later we demand the facts!
Originally the future fortress was going to have pegs to connect to the other vehicles but due to production cost they cut that feature
That's what I have heard, but I wasn't able to find confirmation of that. It may have helped. It just depends on how they executed it.
Great job HCC788 for getting through all the first wave BF2000 toys. You deserve a nice break for that endurance run.
Here's a second opinion from a Transformer reviewer on the fortress: it sucks!!!!!!!
The hole in the front looks like maybe it was designed to have maybe a cover, windshield or something? Btw nice reviews of the whole BF 2000 original team. I live in Sweden and I hade Blocker and Dodger as a kid and never knew they where part of a BF 2000-subteam or had vehicles asigned to them?I dont think BF 2000 was sold here as something else than Action Force/GiJoe. Also never knew you could remove Dodgers mic? From my memory that was non removable?
I don't know what was worse, the complete and utter laziness shown when it came designing this sub-team and its vehicles or the frustration with how just a bit more work and interest by Hasbro could have made these a fantastic set of toys.
Maybe if they had just gone full-Aliens it would have been better. I don't know.
I was thinking in terms of the quality of the vehicles and fortress. Based on your reviews, which is my only experience with the toys, the best word to describe them is 'IF'. Each vehicle seemed to have a good premise but could have been a lot better IF they did a bit more work working out the wrinkles (like having a roll bar lower than the figure's head). As well, the Future Fortress would have been great IF they put a bit more effort into making them fit together into one single structure instead of it looking more like a parking lot for spare BF2000 parts.
Hasbro could have made a plastic base with pegs for the Future fortress to rest on.
That may have helped.
Either that, or just coming up with a point for the pieces to snap together. Even with no other improvements, it would still look a good deal better IMHO if it was a unified structure.
I thought garter belt before you said the same. I will say that of the Joe Con 2017 BF200 figures I think Blocker looks the best. It was a good month.
GMTA! I'm glad you liked Battle Force 2000 month! I wasn't sure it was a good idea, but it seems to have turned out OK.
It had to be done sooner or later. I always have fun watching your reviews! :)
Hasbro should give me The Battle Force 2000 line. I would design better vehicles like Mechs and futuristic sea, air & land Vehicles.
If I had the authority, I would let you take over Battle Force 2000.
I definitely agree with your assessment. Hasbro should remake and retool all 6 of the BF 2000 vehicles and make them slightly bigger for the modern BF 2000 figures!!!
yeah, the future fortress is lackluster. A true kludge.
So the Hooded one says he's taking a week off after doing extra reviews last month, and now he takes the week off. I say we shouldn't stand for this! We want our review!
Hey, HCC, have you done a review of the Phantom X-19, and it's pilot: Ghost Rider?
Is the deflector screen supposed to fold down in front of the passengers to protect them?
but this the better vehicle out the bunch though
The Vindicator looks more like a stingray, than a hovercraft. Put a canopy on it and call it a sub.
Sounds like a good idea. I could go for a sub sandwich right about now.
@@HCC788 I call them hoagies.
I wonder if Vindicator is meant to be an ekranoplan, like the Orlyonok, rather than a hovercraft.
They may have had something like that in mind. It might have helped if it had been a water vehicle. Whatever they were thinking, they said "hovercraft" about half a dozen times on the file card.
"Will Battle Force 2000 finally defeat Cobra? Find out in Marvel Comics!" Opens up a Marvel Comic. Just Kidding they're dead.
Hahaha! That's exactly how it happened. :)
They should have never been killed off of G.I.Joe. I still like the BF 2000 concept.
cyber tiger... wow... let's just leave it at that.
if hasbro would have made a few changes to the vindicator it would be a better vehicle. give it a glass canopy, eliminate the second seat. make the detachable part a battlefield command and control center and don't call it a hover craft. call it a low altitude scout. BF2000 was bad over all. the sky sweeper could have been made a bit better and dropped from the BF line and put into full service. Dodger and Blocker could have been better if put in the main line. Blocker could have been paired with the other desert styled troops and vehicles. Dodger would be another heavy machine gunner/ marine.
Those changes would have helped!
This Laser pistol was used in " Sonic Warrior " , Orange Lamprey accessories too ... Sad this hover is danger for driver because he easy too shoot ... These guys aren't was bad but they should be in base . Am think that is same problem with Dredonks ... Simple I must use my imagination for these roles ...
Yes, many of the BF2000 vehicles had that problem. They didn't protect the drivers.
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA...dustbuster ..that was the highlight of this review ...man I did enjoy this review despite the bad execution of this particular set of figures and vehicles ...thumbs way up man .... dustbuster ..hahahahahahahahahahahaaaaa
Thank you! It comes in handy for small spills and messes. :)
HoodedCobraCommander788 hahahahahahahahahahaaa
It has an incomplete cockpit configuration.. The front of the Vindicator has the lock latch but the glass cover isn’t there.. 🤷🏽♂️ I also disliked his call sign.. “Blaster” is to typical and it sounds like someone from Transformers..
The unpainted folds are egregious, but the figure is excellent otherwise. I like it. The vehicle, eh.
great review of the series...insightful and entertaining....two rarities in our modern world ;-)
this figure and vehicle are complete bottom tier to me...had the figure a better color scheme and weapon..MAYBE it could reach mid tier...
the primary weakness with this subset is the overpowering feeling that the design choices were not artistic or functionality based..but rather chosen to be as cost effective as possible. Its not so much that battleforce doesn't fit GI joe per se...but it feels like hasbro was knocking off their own product with inferior bootlegs.
The main gimmick....building the "base" is laughable in its poor execution. Simply terrible.
P.S. i think the battleforce team members shat their pants when they saw the iron grenadiers and destro....
So much of the clunky design was due to forcing parts to "fit" with the Future Fortress. Even though, in the end, they didn't fit. That's not the whole problem, though. The Vindicator looks basically the same with and without the rocket sled. It looks like a dust buster, regardless.
@@HCC788 i didn't think it looked like a dust buster until you pointed that out and now I can't unsee that lol
The Iron Grendiere's are superb. I love them.
Got fans like the locust?? Hey hcc?? Lol
Yeah! The fan is similar to the Locust's tail rotor.
Good job. They weren't as terrible as I was expecting. However, dying was still the best thing they did.
Thanks! Yeah, I tried to point out the virtues as much as I could. They still had some weak points.
In the last year of the original Transformers line, the Transformers figures gave up transforming and were around the size of G.I.Joe figures...
That sounds really terrible.
Well, there's a reason why G1 Transformers died out lol.
Action Masters were rather awful. They did come with transforming weapons but the figures were fairly low articulation as well.
I really wish, looking back as an adult, that they would have scrapped the "Battleforce 2000" name, and called them N.E.S.T. Then they could have made thier vehicles actual Transformers that might combine to form Fortress Maximus. just a thought though
I hate the whale . Flimsy plastic all over it. Nice design but poorly executed in materials used.
