I like what you're doing here with the videos. This is helpful to educate young athletes that are trying to become better hockey players. I will highly recommend this channel for my future students. I hope to one day influence many First Nations kids to pursue their education and sports. Keep up the good work!
Yes glad I came across this trying to get my 10 year old more endurance. He has ADHD and has top much energy but for some reason he doesn't. Have good endurance
these are great videos. I actually cook a lot of these simple meals from your vids all the time. love the simplicity. turkey with salsa is actually really tasty.
Nice vid... i got take care of that part myself. For next vids like this maybe you could list the items on the description. Easier than just scrolling through the not so friendly youtube loading system... keep on the good work!!!
Would love to see a similar video with the beer leaguer in mind more, with say a 10:15 pm start time on a Tuesday. How and what to eat before and after the regular late starts would be awesome to get opinions on.
What would the best use for Vitargo be? If I drink anything aside from water during a game I feel weighed down and dont really want to try that, but as a College hockey player going into my final season of competitive hockey i want to perform well. Any advice?
Sure -- start small. A lot of supplement containers suggest massive serving sizes, but if you feel weighed down by them, cut it in half or even more. In this case (since hockey is a glycolytic sport), something is better than nothing. Check out this article for my official guidelines: www.hockeytraining.com/what-to-drink-during-your-hockey-game/
No I think it's perfectly fine to cook them in the over (they taste better too). I fry them on high 2 minutes a side and then put them in an oven for 15 minutes at 350 degrees on "Convect"
The time of day you eat the meal would depend on your schedule and when game time starts -- check this out for a more clarity: hockeytraining.com/nutrition/#game
Hi there. I am a 11 year old girl and I'm starting hockey for the first time. Am I too old to start? Will people make fun of me or what? I really wanna play hockey but I fear I'm too old to start:( what should I do?
Two slices of peanut butter sandwich before hopping into the car, I can run 90 minutes in a soccer game or swim without feeling tired or hungry. I don't play hockey yet so I can't comment but I don't see the difference.
Hockey Training hey there I have a native hockey tournament in BC Canada I have a question.... what tipe of shooting drills should I do I'm 13 and I am in bantam but I'm playing with peewee please help me out my tournament is in 1 week

Well we know the last meal is usually about a 500 calorie protein shake made of barley, yeast, hops and water. Minus the protein.
My sons jr hockey doesn't meet until 6 30 pm so I guess I just make him an early dinner
Kevin, great video! Interesting that you only use about half a serving of the carb drink (20g) for games. I'm gonna try that. Thanks!
Awesome, let us know how you feel!
wow the cuality of the video it's impressive!!!
Great video, congrats on the win!
Thanks!

I'm definitely going to use this, but isn't it healthier to grill the chicken?
No I think it's perfectly fine to cook them in the over (they taste better too). I fry them on high 2 minutes a side and then put them in an oven for 15 minutes at 350 degrees on "Convect"
When you play hockey you usually burn more than you consume. So to fry food for them is a non issue
Cross your sauces at the dinner table and crush Dr. Peppers on the bench...works for Ovechkin
What if your game is at 9:30 -12:00am
Here's a gameday nutrition guide www.hockeytraining.com/hockey-in-season-nutrition-guidelines/
another idea might be a budget healthy diet hockey video. I cook these meals all the time but buying meat regularly can be quite expensive.
At least chicken is one of the cheaper options
Here's a tip from the 70's, 80's, 90's , and 2000's teams. Beer, beef, chicken, chips, salsa, cheese. Beer, beef, pork, chips, cake, cookies, pie. Beer...........

Your still young if you don't start now you will regret it later on in life
Like other said, it's never too late! Give it a try!
Coco Msp I started when I was ten... I’m in double a peewee now, train hard and you will get rewarded. ( I’m 11 first year peewee)
I started playing around 8th grade and play collegiate now. All about the work you put in
I started when I was 8... so no ur not to old hockey is for all ages.

neal brothers corn salsa!!
The best haha
Forgot to ask. Whats ur opinion on pre-workout before the game?
I wouldn't take an actual pre workout product before hockey. I wouldn't be against caffeine though

What is the concern with animal fat? Is animal fat not essential? Does animal fat not provide important nutrients?
Nothing hits better than a pregame glitzy and a beer as a beer leaguer
What team do u play for?
Men's League now!
Can you have coffee during game day
Definitely! Not a problem at all.
Thank you Hockey Training for clearing that up
UA-cam channel comment
