I mean sure it also has an artstyle and story that are subjective. But it does so many things that other Roguelike games don’t even come close to doing. The sheer amount of dialog, the amount of different possible builds, interactions and content. It’s mindblowing. Like; Hollow Knight is a game that you will compare to other games within the subgenre of Metroidvania’s right? Hades on the other hand is game you will compare to other games in the overarching genre: Action games. it is simply one of the best action games ever made. It’s that good. I’ll put it this way: And I’ll use Elden Ring as a good triple A example here : If I only get to keep 1 game and I’d *have* to choose between Hollow Knight or Elden Ring? I’d pick Elden Ring 100%. Now let me choose between Elden Ring and Hades and I wouldn’t even blink twice before choosing Hades. That’s how good that game is. And it’s an indie game. Made by 20 people. Let that sink in.
