Ay it's been a minute since I've seen your vids. Hope you been well man!
A lot
Would get if it were 50% off.
These glasses are expensive but are worth the cost imo. Been using mine for a month to both play games and learn Unity on my Steam Deck. It’s like having a 15 inch screen on almost any device. The spatial audio is airpod pro quality. A surprising example of it in action is Metal Gear Solid 1 on PS3. You wouldn’t think that game would take advantage of this tech but it works really well, if footsteps are coming from my left they get progressively louder the closer to me they get.
There are a couple of downsides though. On the switch I have to undock my joycons in order to use them. This because you’ll need the mobile dock in order to use Viture on anything but the Steam Deck, a surprising thing given both the glasses and the switch use a usb-c port. Plus micro consoles like the NES and Genesis Classic either don’t work or, if they do, are limited to the upper left side of the screen.
Still that first point is less of a disadvantage than it may seem since, with this dock, these can be used on most modern hdmi-enabled devices.
damn good games!
Love seeing more of these types of videos, especially since the Switch can be so hard find good stuff on the eShop due to its design
The Daily Dadish level is how i start my day every morning. It's great to have something small and fun to look forward to each day.
As someone who played all the dadish games, I’m glad this series is getting more praise
#1 Dadish appreciator
Let’s not forget the fact that Sakuna Rice and Ruin’s physical copy comes with a small instruction booklet OH BOY this is my favorite games to bring back the nostalgia in me

pretty rude and unneeded for this video...
Glad to have a list to reference. Thanks!
@@MiteNitehuh?
@@MiteNite it's good for quick reference.
@@MiteNite?
Love seeing all the indie Devs having costumes and easter eggs for other indie games, really feels like a community
I didn't expect anyone to ever mention Frogun, Little Noah or Sakuna. These games are actually hecking fun and hecking cute. Now I wanna play them again.
Frogun is on PC. It's worth picking up from GoG.
Didn't get on with frogun's controls
So, Frogun isn't about a samurai frog?
Also since Ant didn't say this up front like Peebs, the glasses start at over $400 so take that into consideration if you weren't sent a free pair to sponsor.
Can Confirm, Sakuna is a great game. Not just the Sidescrolling beat em up but the Rice farming gets so friggin' addicting after a while, just finding the perfect fertilizer compisition, the perfect amount of water and stuff. If you haven't i can highly recommend the game.
Same goes for Little Noah, just finding the combination of moves and learning the specific boss movesets is incredibly fun in that game.
I need to get back to Sakuna I have PS Plus so a lot of times I will play a game for awhile and switch to another one usually I beat the games before picking a new one. But Sakuna was kind of my down time game where if I didn't feel like playing a game for a long period of time I would just do like cycle of Sakuna. Pretty sure I was in the late stage of the game when I stopped playing about a month ago. Remember the volcano going off the field being destroyed and your stats being scattered around the island. And I got them all back and that was when the last thing I remember doing.
I love Sakuna. It's really relaxing. Gaijin Goomba did a cultural breakdown on it and that sold me. The loop you fall into with the farming is really addicting.
8:02 oh wow, a rare Nikoli appearance! Their stuff is incredible, if you're into puzzles at all you should totally check out what they have to offer. The Sudoku app only has handcrafted puzzles, for example, which makes them way better than the computer-generated grids you find in magazines :D
I'm so happy to see the love Crosscode keeps on getting, every time it gets mentioned it brings a smile to my face😄😃
CrossCode is unironically my favorite game I played in 2022, its so damn good that I don't regret buying the game by myself despite having access to a shared account that already had it (granted i did that because couldnt buy the post game dlc on the shared account but still dont regret that purchase)
I haven’t played the game but I know that the main character is in a PC kart racer I like, Super Indie Karts. There’s even a CrossCode themed track
U ever consider covering psn hidden gems?
Is it good?
@@Masta2Playa hack yeah! I didn't expect at all to love this game as much as I did, I played a blind playthrough and it became my third favorite game of all time (competing with Zelda Totk for the spot). I've got over 115 hr on the game, there's a good amount of content plus great DLC. The game is a single-player ARPG set in an MMORPG and it's crazy how many time I was so embraced in the game I thought I was online playing this cool MMORPG game😅 great story, great characters, challenging combat, the best puzzles I've played in a video game, the kind that makes you actually think how to solve them instead to have an obvious solution.
Well, I can keep going nonstop which is a good sign by itself so yeah, I highly recommend it😄💙
I’m actually a backer for Frogun! Although I got it for the PS5! I had NO idea that YOU were a backer! That’s awesome!
KURU KURU KURURIN getting a fan made spiritual successor is amazing to hear
One personal favorite thats pretty unknown for puzzle platformer fans that I know of is Kubinashi Recollection. Really cute game where you gotta use your head... literally. You got a certain number of heads you can use per stage to bounce off of or shoot out to hit switches. The game gets really difficult but its a great time. Has a great soundtrack and a cute little story as well. Big recommend for puzzle platformer fans.
I can’t believe you really started out with two of the best games of all time
Sakuna is a passion project.
The devs grew rice themselves in their homes to accurately mimic that in the game.
Dragon Marked for Death is another really good one. It's a mission-based action RPG sidessroller made by the guys who made mega man zero. It's really grindy, but very, very good.
Thank you for giving the "Dadish" series some love, AntDude! I didn't know what to expect when playing them, but I genuinely love how offbeat they are! I'm still trying to work on finishing "Dadish 3", but it's so damn charming! Hard as hell, too. Keep up the brilliant work!
EDIT: I'm also happy you mentioned "Frogun"! I love it, too! When Limited Run had an offer for a physical edition, I put in an order for 2 copies. One was for me, obviously. The other was for my young nephew, because I want him to experience the style of 3D platformers I had to grow up with in my late childhood. :)
Always nice to see a fellow indie game connoisseur showing some love for the little guys. Speaking of little, one game I personally recommend is Bug Fables: The Everlasting Sapling! It’s basically Paper Mario, but with adorable little bugs. Seriously, if you like those games, you’ll love this one!
Definitely love that game, Final boss is kicking by butt tho. but definitely a fan favorite of classic Paper Mario
As someone who absolutely LOVED Lunistice, I appreciate the spotlight 💗
Also: I know this is not exactly Indie, but I wholeheartedly recommend the Trails Games, specifically Zero/Azure/Reverie😎
HE ACTUALLY CAME THROUGH AND DID ANOTHER VIDEO ON SWITCH GAMES TO PLAY. I'VE LONG WAITED FOR THIS!
i've seen SO many switch channels that just talk about the Same "hidden" gems over and over, but man I find myself actually adding everything to wish list with your videos. Or buying them out right. Thank you for being actually different
I second the Ghost Trick recommendation! It's such a fantastic adventure game with a story that never stops the surprises. If only it hadn't released the month after Tears of the Kingdom, maybe then it would have been noticed by more than five people
When Ghost Trick HD was announced I was over the moon, I had literally been wanting a re-release for years... ended up pre-ordering on both Switch and Steam. No regrets.
Funny enough, Ghost Trick was actually enough to tear my attention away from ToTK. And now that I've gotten every Ghost Trick Achievement I'm trying to 100% Pikmin 4... and then probably go right back to Ghost Trick because I haven't been able to stop thinking about it.
If I am a publisher, I will stay FAAAARRR away from zelda and Mario releases, especially main ones. Those release like once every 4-5 years too, so your luck and timing has got to be really bad to release close to them.
Saw no one mention it so I guess I will. Two games worth your time are The world ends with you final remix and it’s sequel NEO: The World Ends With You. Both are amazing JRPGs that feature a great story, fun gameplay mechanics and incredible music. It’s a game I hope more people play because they’re always on sale and it’s never been easier picking up these two gems
Yeah, I also 2nd this. Unfortunately, I feel like I’m more invested in TWEWY success than Square Enix is.
No offense, but twewy is a pretty popular IP, and lots of people have played the original and the sequel. It's hardly what i would call an underplayed series
Final remix I'm a little sketchy on because it's bonus chapter is a mess.
Neo though is actually one of the best action rpgs around
I second this, though I recommend playing the original DS version of TWEWY instead of the Switch port if possible. The game was made with a stylus in mind, so the Switch port's controls can be super difficult to work with.
@hayliemartin5370 I played Final Remix, it feels fine in handheld mode. But the pointer controls in docked mode.... yeah, those are a mess.
I still need to finish NEO.... Zelda and Pikmin and Ghost Trick (especially Ghost Trick) stole my attention away from TWEWY. And my backlog in general is pretty long... Oops.
With that art style, Spinfrog looks like it should have been called “Untitled Frog Game”
This isn't a Switch showcase, it's and indie showcase!
Keep it up, love indies.
I already have Lunistice and Frogun on Steam, and I've been enjoying them, and the fact that we're getting a Frogun sequel is pretty rad.
As for the other games shown off here, I'd only really go for the ones with platforming, because while I have been stepping out of my comfort zone with some genres, I haven't taken that many steps just yet.
Same, I too have Both Lunistice and Frogun on Switch and I'm a huge platformer and don't want to step out my comfort zone when it comes to other genres. Definitely hyped to hear that both these game are getting sequel's and I'm really hyped for that. As for the other games I might get that Frog copter game since I love the eustatic and it's on sale right now for $5. There are a lot of games coming out so I'll stick with my genre for now, for financial reasons. Definitely hyped for Bomb Rush Cyberfunk, Gunbrella, Pepper Grinder, Super Mario Bros. Wonder, and my MOST anticipated game for early next year Penny's Big Breakaway, I'm spreading the WORD with that game
I remember that Sakuna was one of the games I always kept saying "maybe I'll try it, someday," and just lives in my wishlist full time. I really should get to buying it XD.
Also, glad to see more Live a Live fans! In my friend group, I was the only one who even knew what the game was before launch, and the only one that has played it, so it's nice seeing others enjoy such a great but often forgotten game.
I literally do not understand why so many people act like Cross Code is an unheard of gem. It’s very well-known amongst the indie scene and almost everyone who’s done a video about indie games talks about it. But they all always talk like it’s some underrated hidden gem that nobody knows about. I don’t get it.
I don't know about it
I didn’t know about it either
Had no idea about this game until I watched this video
To the people saying they'd never heard of it before: Obviously not everyone has heard of every game. My specific point is that a LOT of UA-camrs who do indie coverage call it "underrated". But when SO MANY do, can you really call it underrated? There's obviously a fanbase there.
@@Waffletigercat hmm idk never heard of it
Analynn is now on the Switch BTW. Just wanted to tell you since you said good things about it in a previous video.
Bought Frogun because of your recommendation, and *wow* I've never so immediately regretted a purchase. This game is baffling on such a fundamental level that I have no clue how someone could enjoy it unless they legit want to comb over every stage for 10 minutes and replay it five times.
Love these videos, the last got so many games on my radar and this one will be no different! Love the love shown to Live A Live and Ghost Trick at the start, they're both 10/10 bangers
5:30 : “there’s a music themed level Where the environment isn’t tied to the best”
Me: Cool … where’s my Hi-Fi Rush review m!?
Still ain’t playing cuz I’m broke
real
Same
We need 1m in 2ys
DADISH is free on mobile and you can connect your controller via bluetooth
All four games are free on phones
You know some of these switch games I never even heard of until now after watching this video, look pretty interesting not gonna lie so I will probably check some of these out tbh when I can anyway, thanks for giving these games some attention they needed.
HUGE vouch for lunistice and frogun. both games are absolutely fantastic, and BOTH are getting sequels soon! theyre amazing games and the sequels are looking amazing so far too
Hopefully the controls are better in frogun 2
In terms of Hidden Gems I highly highly recommend Master Detective Archives Rain Code!!
Great one
Dang it, Ant! My backlog is already months long, thank goodness about half of the games you mentioned that caught my eye are easily finished in a few hours! Thanks for the video! You've earned another subscriber!
Seeing Ant mention Live A Live makes me smile. That game has my favorite boss song ever!
I love every song in the soundtrack, but especially the boss songs (all of them)
Bro I am NOT buying those glasses for $500 that's insane I'd rather buy another console
Seriously. Who, outside of people who have money raking in from being a UA-camr, actually have the disposable income for that?
What da heeeewwww
I really love Daily dadish, weird concept but also very fun
19:10 evil scourge?
That’s not a transformer???
Mind…blown
I've been wanting to play sakuna forever 😭 I'm so glad u brought it up, it deserves more recognition
Parents: don't sit to close to the TV
20ish years later: Viture One Glasses, Glasses that are the TV sceen
I can vouch for the Dadish series, short but charming platformer games. Haven’t played any of the other games so I’ll be sure to check those out in the near future :)
Might I suggest the Super Cat Tales series on IOS & Android by what seems to be the same people? Wonderful platformers with the same art style and charm. :]
This looks right up my alley, I’ll definitely check the series out:]. Btw, looked it up to confirm, Daily Dadish was made by Thomas K. Young while Super Cats was made by Gionathan Pesaresi. Both games art styles look pretty similar so I get why you’d assume they were by the same person:)
Oh btw just in case you dont know, all four games are on phones for free and can also be played with bluetooth controllers
Flynn: Son of Crimson is such a great game! So glad it got a spotlight here, the combat has a very DMC vibe to it, all the different weapons are great, and new mechanics get introduced all the time and the short play time meant i could play it between college classes so yeah, fantastic game thank you Antdude, you also totally sold me on DYA games their games look right up my alley
Agreed Flynn is a great game and not too hard
Oh thank you so much for covering Spinfrog, such an underrated gem, even though it's very hard! Had a lot of love poured into it for sure :)
This is the only channel where the "games you probably haven't heard of" actually have games I haven't heard of
love videos that call *Cadence of Hyrule* a "hidden gem" 🙃
Yeah, as someone who heard about live a live when it was still just a Super Nintendo game it makes me happy to see you talk about it
Always good to see more Live a Live fans, new and old
As someone who got into kuru kuru kururin via Switch Online and adored the gameplay, I'm so happy to see spiritual successors like Spinfrog keeping that sub-genre alive. Hope to play it one day.
I wish Roundabout made it to Switch
I know the team behind this game! I hope that this time it can get the love it deserves :)
Normally when you do these videos, most of them are ones I’ve already bought or played, which makes sense since a lot of people tell me we have similar taste in games, but I’ll admit I’d never heard of Spinfrog, and it looks great so I’ll totally be picking that up!
If you love low-poly wholesome stuff i can really recommend ''A Short Hike''!
Thank you Antdude for mentioning Sakuna.
Sakuna is truly a GEM. One of my favorite games on Switch. The beautiful art style , awesome soundtrack specially the winter theme , heartwarming story and characters . everything is just amazing.
hey man nice to see ya and just want to say you alone got me into the kirby series and cant thank you enough man
Wow! thanks for the Lunistice tip. Man this game is amazing! I had a blast playing it
8:23 Ironically, the game caught my attention when you said “anime,” and then it lost it when you said “rogue lite.” That’s just who I am haha.
Lmao
Lunistice was one of my favorite games of 2022. Some of the most solid 3d platformer design I've seen in an indie game. It's easy to get through if you just want to complete it, but has tons of extremely challenging bits for those who want to see everything.
Extremely fun and addicting, did you ever turn off smooth turning for that true 360 movement, cause my girl felt like a dream when I turned that off
This may be one of the few time I've been interested in just about every game in a video like this. Thank you Antdude!
If you can find the Divine Edition for Sakuna, I recommend it. Includes the soundtrack, a mini art book, and an actual Made in Japan Lucky Charm like you would get from a shrine in Japan, all for the price of a regular Switch game.
Little Noah is fantastic.
Also it's that rare rogue-like that isn't interested in lasting forever. It has a solid, definitive ending and doesn't overstay its welcome. Not to say you can't keep playing if you want, it has stuff to do, but it does end.
Strongest recommendation.
Thanks for having us AntDude - so glad you're enjoying VITURE One! This is an amazing assortment of games and we can't wait to experience them all in XR. 😎
I've watched quite a few of these kind of videos, and they often lead me nowhere. But you've got me pumped up and ready to spend money on some great looking games.
I have both Part-Time UFO & Frogun as well as Toree 3D & 2! I’ve thanked RebelTaxi & you for recommending these gems!
I'm resistant to add even more games to my backlog, but man, the second i saw Lunistice I was sold
Still cant believe Demon Turf and Crypt of the necrodancer arent on thos list either
The first time a fully watched an ad on UA-cam on my own. Those glasses definetly sound like impressive piece of technology.
0:52 Super Kiwi 64 was super easy, besides some minor collectibles and secrets, but just SO MUCH FUN and such a chill time to complete. I'm a stan for this devs games now.
As a hardcore eshop browser, I'm glad these indies are getting more noticed in some fashion
You should have mentioned Bayonetta Origins, that games doesn't get enough love.
Ive seen him talk about it in 2 or 3 videos
You know what people need to play?
Turnip Boy commits tax evasion.
A really fun 2D zelda game.
Also theres a sequel coming soon... and it might be a rougelike.
Yeah I love Sakuna. It's basically a 2D Rune Factory with more focus on (and frankly better) combat.
Always a joy to see Antdude just get to enjoy a bunch of cool, smaller games.
It just came out, and I haven’t finished it yet, but so far I’d definitely recommend Master Detective Archives: Rain Code to anyone who enjoys murder mystery games.
And I second the Ghost Trick recommendation.
Yooooooo I made basically the same comment!
@@suspectrum.2259Awesome!
Wait, Super Kiwi 64 got finished?! I remember the DEMO of that game from GameJolt in 2017, I think. It’s good to see that guy has been cranking.
Yeah it's really cheap too from what I remember
Did not expect dadish to make an appearance. I used this game to test my mobile controller when i got it and i loved the 1st 2. The 3rd just felt... off to me as far as I remember. But they were fun platformers, highly recommend.
Just bought the DYA games bundle on Steam. Thanks for these videos, I love finding good games I haven't heard of!
YOU BETTER DO GUARDIAN TALES AS A SPONSOR FOR THE NINTENDO SWITCH/PHONE VERSION...
BEST INDIE EVER..
(The spritework, dialouge, refrences)
I have never seen 2 sponsors in a single video, and you can't tell me Play Asia wasn't a sponsor because you added your code to use.
Dude you need to at least an hour-long video of just MUST have hidden gems EShop games. Because these are just amazing, especially when a lot of them are actually on Steam as well which I love.
I was very happy to see Metallic Child into Sakuna! I got the former because I saw it had DLC from the latter and man it was a great time. Action packed, fun to master with its weapon switching combo system and special moves, and an overall great challenge from start to finish. The story is good too, getting bits and pieces of the narrative after each stage was fun with an interesting conclusion. Highly recommend!
Also Sakuna, man that game blew me away with its combo system and surprisingly interesting farming. You start off weak with very few dishes you can make but by the end you're eating like kings with so much variety at your disposal. You really get to see Sakuna's growth through every aspect of the game and it's really enjoyable to experience!
Man! I didn't even know Flynn: Son of Crimson was out! I wishlisted it on Steam years ago, it looks so gorgeous. It looks very different, but it reminds me of Owlboy for all of the same reasons you showered it with praise. I have it wishlisted on Switch and will pick it up as soon as I can.
Also, Botvice and Vivienne are currently on sale for anyone else on a budget!
Strikey Sisters looks like it's inspired by Touhou 1. It too was a breakout clone where you have to smack the ball to redirect it.
My days get so much better the more crosscode gets mentioned. Especially when people use crosscode music in their videos ❤
Adding like 5 of these games onto my to do list. Already grabbed Lunistice after watching this and... Man it's so good! Love these videos Antdude
I was surprised how live a live was mentioned first. I was so hyped for the game after I played the demo, when I went to buy it I was worried the store wasn’t gonna have any copies left
I remember having that same feeling. I love Live A Live, but I do know that it flew under the radar for many people.
Rice and Ruin is apparently half farming sim and half Ori and The Will of the Wisps? Damn, didn't think those two types of games could be mashed together.
Nice to see Sakuna here, it’s great.
Funny thing about Of Rice and Ruin is, if memory serves me right, it got a few Spirits added to Smash Ultimate at one point
I don't think we'll ever know what the criteria was for being worthy of a little Spirit collab in Ultimate
Or why Evil Ryu of all characters had to be Ultimate's last ever Spirit-actually, why wasn't he among the base game's Street Fighter Spirits in the first place??
Also, confining it in a reply since, y'know, Nobody Asked™️:
Kinda hard to really care about much of any of these, barring Little Noah which I'd already played after it was revealed in a Direct quite a ways back, and Lunistice which is definitely the most interesting at a glance to me
Everything else is just kinda really "Ehh", whether it's because the gameplay is of no appeal to me [Rice and Ruin and the Kururin-based one], or I just ain't feeling how it looks, such as Machine Child's aesthetics [side-note, _why_ roll with that as a name] or...all of Frogun, honestly, like I know that's really dickish to so bluntly say but I just do not vibe with it
An honorable mention to Dadish though, 'cause I feel like if I stumbled upon those in the Google Play Store for like $5-10 each or somethin', I'd have no qualms/hesitation about buyin' 'em, like those'd be a lot more fine for me as mobile games on my phone than on my Nintendo Switch system
Meanwhile his monitor just saying "Nintendo switch has games" lmao
Thanks for the recommendations Antdude!
not really an indie type of guy but still nice to give the folks a shout to try their games
Little Noah is such a fun game you can beat in just a few hours. I had so much fun playing it when it first came out.
Im gonna sit in the Train/Bus and im gonna look like Future Boy with these Glasses. I swear why cant i be a kid again and go to school with this awesome stuff.
I can honestly say this is one of the few times I did not skip the sponsor part. The Glasses were hard
Every time AntDude uploads, it feels like Christmas 🎄
I followed Flynn since before its original Kickstarter back in 2017. Cool to see people finally acknowledge it. It's very underrated.
Idk if hes covered Owl Boy before but I highly recommend that as well. The world, characters, story and lore are all suuper charming and just....yeah haha.
SAKUNA IS SUCH A CUTE GAME u went over some really cool games and i’m def checking out that frog game it looks right up my alley
Great video dude, and great choices! I knew about most of these except Beeny and Metallic Child!
