Your list is quite solid and good, but I missed Outer Wilds. I have a huge fondness for this game-its soundtrack, atmosphere, design, and magnificent story. Everything in this game is so perfect and special.
I don't really do Let's Plays and I think I wouldn't enjoy them. But as soon as I play Outer Wilds I'm sure I'll share my thoughts on it on the channel. 😉
Eastward (loved the story and the visual style of the game), Swapper (great puzzle game with a dense atmosphere); Narita Boy (what an hommage to the 80s); Axiom and Shovel Night (great hommage to the 8bit area). Not sure if it still counts as Indie, but I really also enjoyed the Thalos Principle. It really tickled my brain solving these puzzles.
Just started replaying the Swapper the other night. Can’t believe it’s been 10 years since I played it last. The art direction is great and its melding of game mechanics into its overarching themes is still unique to this day.

Some of these would definitely be in my list too - Sea of Stars, Tunic, Islets. Hollow Knight would also have made it onto mine. Particularly pleased to see Death’s Door on your list, one of my all time favourites and you don’t see it get the recognition it deserves. Looking forward to the next release from those devs.
This is a very good list, very well thought out. One of the (many, many) failings of the video game scene is that most great indie games rarely see much publicity (outside of the regular indie news outlets, of course), so they pass by many gamers who might have loved those games. Hopefully channels like yours will help some people to discover such great games.
Thank you so much!!! This is exactly why I started this channel, giving indie games a spotlight and trying to reach as many people as I can to get them interested in indie games. 😊
Thanks for the video and for your personal opinion! I have Moonlighter and Crosscode in my Switch library and have never touched them. Thanks to do I put them in my priority list ❤
Cross code is really amazing buuuuut, some of the puzzles get very irritating theres one in a temple in the desert that simply made me quit even loving the rest of the game, ill return to it eventually " yes the game is that fun to make me be dure ill go back to it even hating the puzzles"
Great list! I need to play Crosscode. It’s in my backlog, and I don’t know why I haven’t sunk my teeth into it yet. I always hear from reliable sources that it’s one of the best.
Im so happy to see crosscode at the #1 spot. Its such an amazing and fun game i legit couldnt stop replaying the game over and over again just to regain that thrill of combat and exploration and puzzle solving crosscode gets you. Also the dlc adds so much more to the game it should really be a part of the game because it adds the perfect ending Definetly my favorite indie game of all time. One thing you forgot to mention is all the amazing and fun bosses and quests this game has to offer
It's always so nice to see people feeling the same love for CrossCode as I feel. It's such an incredible game and the puzzles especially are so much fun. Easily one of the best games ever made.
I love that your list is personal without the most obvious choices. And Death's Door is so underrated masterpiece. I am surprised people are not listing Darkest Dungeon in the comments. I can also recommend A short hike, Disco Elysium, Frostpunk, Gris, Subnautica, Vampire survivors, Stardew Valley. Weird list with some AA :P
I wasn't aware of Death's Door, and will need to check that out at some point. I have a number of other games on this list, but Sea of Stars is the only one I've played. A few indie gems that I always recommend are Gorogoa for a puzzle game, To the Moon for a more interactive story than game, and Undertale for such a creative take on RPGs. And my outside pick is Venineth which just has wonderful worlds to get lost in for a while.

Man if you haven't played outer wilds and its dlc please go play it without spoiling it. It's my personal GOAT, and when the DLC came out I was so blown away by that second miracle I almost had a stroke. For me there's no topping Outer Wilds. I would also suggest "what remains of Edith Finch", that game is just pure gold
@@feiitogamingJudging by your based af list in this video, i think you'll love every single second of outer wilds. Just please don't look up anything online. If possible, avoid the trailer. And explore like you would a FromSoftware game, hunting for Lore. You'll be rewarded with one of the best lores and plots in gaming history
I hope I get to make time to play all of these, although I feel intimidated as hell to get into JRPGs because I think they're just too complex and time consuming to me, what I most enjoy about sea of stars is its simplicity both in combat system and in build mechanics. Any advise going into crosscode?
My advise for CrossCode is that you can play the demo first and if you decide you want to play the full game then just take it slow. CrossCode is easy to divide into several story chuncks, so to speak. It is a Long Game (40-60h) but it's easy to stop and get back to it a couple days later. Also there's a dynamic difficulty setting which can make it easier to get through the game.
1. Undertale/deltarune - best of the best 2. Terraria - best survival/sandbox 3.Tiny rouges (still in beta) - best rogue lite 4. Ultra kill - best singleplayer fps 5. Loop Hero - best turn-based game 6. Best dungeon crawler - Barony 7. Best platformer - Celeste honourable mention: -Dead Cells -Forager -Hollow knight -Core keeper PS: I only considered games from Steam
I bought a Switch recently and beat some games that I would never play in big platforms. And one of that games is a gem of metroidvanias: ANIMAL WELL. The best exploration experience in games I've ever had. 20+ hours and I still not found every secret.
My top 11, but I have so many games to try 1* (Minecraft) 1. Hollow knight 2. Outer wilds 3. Subnautica 4. Cuphead 5. Dredge 6. The Stanley parable 7. Inside 8. Journey 9. Chants of sennaar 10. Celeste
I dont know if Project Moon Count as an indie Dev but both Library of Ruina and Limbus company are my favorites mainly for the story but the gameplay especialy in Ruina is top notch the base turn based combat i have ever played
Death s Door is one of the best games i ve ever played. Loved Chained Echoes althou it starts quite slow, dropped like 2 times before finally playing it. I liked Sea of Stars, didnt love it, but it s also very good.
okay bro, its as easy as doing this: 00:21 Viewfinder 01:32 Moonlighter 02:35 Death's Door 03:45 Islets 05:01 Sea Of Starts 06:21 Blasphemous 2 07:40 Lone Fungus 08:55 Minishoot' Adventures 10:14 Chained Echoes 11:34 Tunic 13:33 Crosscode I promise you that making your viewer's life easier than skipping through a 15 minute video is worth it
Dude, absolutely not! I'm really open for feedback, I really am, but I'm not a fan of this. I know how people watch videos like this and I tested how the average view duration compares and that's why I do my timestamps like this. Some folks just click the video, have a 5 second look on the chapter names and close the video. That's a really stupid way to watch videos. Some of my videso take me 8 to 16 hours to produce so I think it's perfectly fine to not reveal so much in the chapters or description.
@@feiitogamingI just played it earlier this year. Be sure to play the DLC after you finish the game. It's called "Echos of the Eye" and it's arguably better than the base game 😳 You're in for a treat for sure 🙌🏿
Minishoot was a lot of fun. Really satisfied my recent cravings for shmups. The only problem I have with the game is that the true ending was underwhelming (No seriously why? Had I known what would happen I would have never done it) and I need a fourth difficulty option because CAVE and Touhou have made me too powerful for this game. Even the TLB was fairly easy for me even on the highest difficulty.
My list of really good indie games not in the video : - Inmost - Have a Nice Death - Journey - Midnight Fight Express - OneShot - Worldless Add your list as a reply to my comment. It Interest me. ❤
Sea of Stars. Ara Fell. Rise of the Third Power. Need to play Crosscode. I'm currently playing Chained Echoes and it has legs. I loved Battle Chasers and Fel Seal.
Celest, FTL, RIME, Dave The Diver, Dredge, Hollow Knight, Tunic, Frostpunk, Disco Elysium, Dotage, and Animal Well are some of my favs. I haven’t heard of most of the ones on this list. And that’s great!!! They all look up my alley and added most of them to my steam Wishlist. Wasn’t expecting to find so many new games.
Baba is You is by far the best indie puzzle game. I played both Tunic and Sea of Stars and neither of them deserve to be ranked higher than Celeste and Hollow Knight, but I appreciate that it seems like this list is attempting to include games that everyone doesn’t already know about
This list is meant to show my personal favorites, that's why some fan favorites are not here. I def think Hollow Knight and Celeste are incredible games but I didn't enjoy them as much as other people did. 🤷 Baba Is You is an absolutely phenomenal game as well. So creative and so difficult - at least for me 😅

That game has been on my wishlist for a while. Played the demo and wasn't too excited with the controls but I want to give it another shot since I heard very good things about it.
@ yeah the problem with viewfinder is that it can be rather obtuse or counterintuitive, but i dont consider it part of the difficulty. Patrick parabox and baba is you are some examples of difficult but fair / well designed puzzle games
Agreed. For me the puzzles are absolutely fantastic and I love them so much, but I totally understand everyone who dislikes them - it's a matter of taste for sure.
What's your favorite indie game?

awesome list of games. I still need to get Cult of the Lamb, that game always grabbed my attention, but somehow I haven't played it yet.
Elden ring 😂
@@amolbhatia1449is that a problem? Elden ring is indie.
@@StraightCurve2 Not a problem. Just factually incorrect. Elden Ring is made by a big studio with a significant budget.
#1 Chronicles of Myrtana: Archolos. Technically a mod, but in reality the best RPG ever made.
Every Indie Game I've played Ranked Top To Bottom:
Ori 2
Axiom Verge 2
Ori 1
Steam World Dig 2
Celeste
Steam World Dig 1
Axiom Verge 1
Outer Wilds
Outer Wilds Echo Of The Eye
Portal 2
Hollow Knight
Portal 1
Chained Echos
Moonlighter
Dead Cells
Unravel Two
Open Roads
Animal Well
Messenger
Hades
Guacamele 1
Unsighted
Tales Of Kenzara
Awesome list!
Moonlighter is awesome...I really want a sequel
That would be sooo cool!
@@Kaiju-b2b I will 100% play Outer Wilds asap. Probably next year. I only heard great things about it and I am sure I'll love it.
@@feiitogamingJudging by your based af list in this video, i think you'll love every single second of outer wilds. Just please don't look up anything online. If possible, avoid the trailer. And explore like you would a FromSoftware game, hunting for Lore.
You'll be rewarded with one of the best lores and plots in gaming history
subbed cuz W taste :D
Awww, thank you so much. Really appreciate it. 🔥
1. Undertale/deltarune - best of the best
2. Terraria - best survival/sandbox
3.Tiny rouges (still in beta) - best rogue lite
4. Ultra kill - best singleplayer fps
5. Loop Hero - best turn-based game
6. Best dungeon crawler - Barony
7. Best platformer - Celeste
honourable mention:
-Dead Cells
-Forager
-Hollow knight
-Core keeper
PS: I only considered games from Steam
Great list dude!
EPIC! I gotta check out Cross Code and Chained Echoes!
Awesome! I hope you'll enjoy them as much as I did. 🔥
Great list but I would also add hollow knight, celeste, katana zero, terraria, lies of p, sifu
Great list of games. Actually never played Katana Zero but I intend to do so in the future - it looks awesome!
Hollow for me is amazing but definetly not one of the best, various aspects of the game made me quit it for more than a year now.
I agree with death's door, such an amazing and fun game. Quite a solid a list, but for puzze my pick would definitely be Cocoon.
Dude, Cocoon is amazing. One of my favorite games of 2023.
"Baldo: The Guardian Owl" is hands down the greatest underrated gem out there❤
Heard very mixed things about it on release but it seems more and more people actually like this game. I should probably give this one a try soon.
@@feiitogamingharsh release some bugs and tuning ruined the experience, but today it's totally different game, I just love it
Tunic is as awesome as hard to beat. The entire game is amazing, yet it makes you want to throw the controller to the ground so many times.
Haha, I get that. Some boss fights are so tough 😅
I bought a Switch recently and beat some games that I would never play in big platforms. And one of that games is a gem of metroidvanias: ANIMAL WELL.
The best exploration experience in games I've ever had.
20+ hours and I still not found every secret.
Animal Well is a great game - not really my thing, but I do agree that it's really special.
great list. only lone fungus is not on my list.
Thank you!
My top 11, but I have so many games to try
1* (Minecraft)
1. Hollow knight
2. Outer wilds
3. Subnautica
4. Cuphead
5. Dredge
6. The Stanley parable
7. Inside
8. Journey
9. Chants of sennaar
10. Celeste
Great list. I've never played Subnautica but it's on my list of games I want to play soon.
Death's Door is really good!
How is celeste and stardew valley not on this list?!
They're just not my favorites 🤷 But to be fair: I haven't played Stardew Valley yet but I plan to do so very soon. I'm sure I'll love it
you should check out outer wilds! it might change your mind about the best puzzle game
Oh I will, I heard so many great things about it and I'm pretty sure I'll love this.
why i love cross code so much is because i like to see the damage number
Hahaha, I think I know what you mean. 🤣
okay bro, its as easy as doing this:
00:21 Viewfinder
01:32 Moonlighter
02:35 Death's Door
03:45 Islets
05:01 Sea Of Starts
06:21 Blasphemous 2
07:40 Lone Fungus
08:55 Minishoot' Adventures
10:14 Chained Echoes
11:34 Tunic
13:33 Crosscode
I promise you that making your viewer's life easier than skipping through a 15 minute video is worth it
Dude, absolutely not!
4:35 i just got a flashback of me dying because Markoth in hallow knight 😭
CrossCode seems incredibly underappreciated!
Totally!!!
Tiny Thor needs to be in this list for sure
Haven't played this one yet, but it looks cool.
Kinda disappointed thatOuter Wilds is not in there, the game is quite possibly the best indie game ever made.
@@TheStrikers63 I def want to play this soon. I only heard great things about it and I think it should be right up my alley.
@@feiitogamingI just played it earlier this year. Be sure to play the DLC after you finish the game. It's called "Echos of the Eye" and it's arguably better than the base game 😳 You're in for a treat for sure 🙌🏿
@brianwright9215 thanks I'll keep that in mind 😎
Minishoot was a lot of fun. Really satisfied my recent cravings for shmups. The only problem I have with the game is that the true ending was underwhelming (No seriously why? Had I known what would happen I would have never done it) and I need a fourth difficulty option because CAVE and Touhou have made me too powerful for this game. Even the TLB was fairly easy for me even on the highest difficulty.
My list of really good indie games not in the video :
- Inmost
- Have a Nice Death
- Journey
- Midnight Fight Express
- OneShot
- Worldless
Add your list as a reply to my comment. It Interest me. ❤
Great list!
CROSSCODE IS A MASTERPIECE
valid list
Thanks 🙏
My top would be:
0 minecraft (Not an indie for me)
1 Outer wilds
2 Hollow knight
3 Kenshi
4 terraria
5 papers please
6 Tunic
7 Furi
8 Stardew valley
9 Cocoon
10 Blasphemous 2
Great list! Always happy to see some love for Tunic. 🔥
No one who has followed this channel could have possibly predicted CrossCode making this list! 😊
Hahaha, yeah that wasn't surprising at all 😅
@@feiitogaming (Bias aside I do think it deserves a spot in this category so hey, works out!)
Bro I love crosscode I'm so happy to see it on here
@quandaledingle8887 awesome! We have something in commom here 💪
Chained echoes is made by one german guy. Technically it's a GRPG😂
Hahaha, absolutely. That means CrossCode is a GRPG as well. My favorite genre 😂
@@feiitogaming promising new genre
@@feiitogamingHoly moly shit just got real😊
Honestly surprised Animal Well didn’t make the list
Yeah wasn't really my thing, sadly. I really wanted to like it but somehow I just couldn't get into it.
Sea of Stars. Ara Fell. Rise of the Third Power. Need to play Crosscode. I'm currently playing Chained Echoes and it has legs. I loved Battle Chasers and Fel Seal.
Nice, I hope you're enjoying your time with Chained Echoes.
That's awesome and it always makes me happy when people find new games because of my videos. 😎
Hey awesome list, just want to let you know that Dave the Diver is not an indie game, great game, but not indie at all
@@andrespadilla2320 Thanks for the correction- I’ll look that up. Just assumed it was from the vibe. :)
Best indie games for me are:
Suguri
Sora
Hellsinker
Rabi Ribi
And a bunch of games developed by Inti Creates.
Outer Wilds head and shoulders above
I really need to play this game. I will... Next year.
Baba Is You is an absolutely phenomenal game as well. So creative and so difficult - at least for me 😅
My top 11 would have mine craft at #1 but that's boring so instead I will say
11-cuphead 10-tunic 9- corn kids 64 8-sea of stars 7-signalis 6-crow country 5-omori 4-undertale 3-pizza tower 2-the messenger 1-hollow knight
Honorable mention to inscyption and celeste
Wonderful list! Inscryption is a game I really need to try.
No mention to dead cells hurts man :_____
Haha, I hope it doesn't hurt too bad 😅
Yeah it's a great game, I know, just not really my thing.
You fools, the only Indie king is Kenshi !!! Battle Brothers, Starsector, Rimworld, these are the kings !! 🤪
Okay, big words - I'll check them out 😉
Of course CrossCode was in this list ahah. ;) PS: If you like "Islets", then I recommand a lot their recent game "Crypt Custodian". :)
Jup, CrossCode is the GOAT. 😉
Crypt Custodian is awesome. I actually did a Review on my channel - really liked it.
Indie games that are not Hollow Knight or Cuphead
Rusted Moss is soooooo good too, If you like Hollow Knight and Celeste i can only recommend you the game
Rusted Moss is peak
That game has been on my wishlist for a while. Played the demo and wasn't too excited with the controls but I want to give it another shot since I heard very good things about it.
Viewfinder is so easy thats is more of a walking simulator, the rest of the list is fine
Whaaa? You find Viewfinder easy? For me this was challenging, not too much but perfectly fine. What is a puzzle game you'd consider difficult?
@ yeah the problem with viewfinder is that it can be rather obtuse or counterintuitive, but i dont consider it part of the difficulty. Patrick parabox and baba is you are some examples of difficult but fair / well designed puzzle games
Viewfinder is dizzying in its brilliance.
Absolutely!!!
Animal Well, Hollow knight and terraria would be my picks
Best game with a mushroom is Hollow Knight obviously
Viewfinder is a masterpiece puzzle game
CrossCode is the best game I’ve ever played
Yeeeees!!!
For me, banner saga is in my top 10
Also unsighted
Unsighted is great. I actually only ever played around 5 hours and somehow never picked it up again. I should do that soon
crosscode needs more love but i think the puzzles scare people :(
Agreed. For me the puzzles are absolutely fantastic and I love them so much, but I totally understand everyone who dislikes them - it's a matter of taste for sure.
