Nailed it..!!! I've been using the Oracle since 2017 after returning from Italy I just couldn't do without that morning cappuccino. I got mine from Williams Sonoma (US) when they gave me 20% off the unit for opening their CC. So this is six years later and the Oracle has performed flawlessly. My only suggestion is to order a replacement shower screen and steam ring BEFORE you need them. I always keep those two items on hand as they can wear over time since they are in direct contact with the porta filter assembly. I pulled thousands of shots over the years and I have been extremely happy with the machine and would highly recommend to anyone (for what it's worth)... Great review by the way!!
been using one now for nearly a year now. i found age had caught up with me and standing doing all the things was becoming beyond me, so this(well the touch version) gives me perfect coffee and pretty close to perfect milk too without the hard work. top machines...
Great review. Just bought one, replacing a Delonghi bean-to-cup machine I've had since 2014. This review helped me a lot. I'm now looking to try a wide range of coffees (so considering a subscription with your business, and noted the discount code as well). Like the idea of eco coffee. Will be a big change from using Hasbean. What I've not got routine yet is the daily cleaning process, let alone the 'monthly' cleaning process. Seen a few videos but didn't find them that clear. Would be good to see your take on this. Usage shall be relatively light as my wife doesn't drink coffee (but she would like to, just not found the right coffee for her yet) but she is happy to make one for me using the Oracle. I expect I shall get a Niche or similar in due course when I want to indulge a little more and am happy to pull manually. (I have a decent manual grinder around that I can try out in the meantime.)
Thanks, Stuart I'm glad my review helped you:-),I must confess that I am not the best at remembering to clean my machines daily or monthly! but always feel better when I have given them a good clean. I have the Niche grinder which I find is an excellent grinder.
Hi Kev, fantastic videos and it's great that you're so enthusiastic about the Sage. I've ordered the Oracle™ and will have it delivered soon. I want to buy a bottomless portafilter for it, do you have a recommendation or is the original one from Sage "the best"? I'm also interested in a "professional" basket filter -> IMS or VST or ..., do you know a lot about it and do you have a recommendation? I'd also be interested in the size, for example whether a basket with a height of 26mm fits or could cause problems with the Oracle™? I've read that the original double basket is 24mm. Thank you for your reply, I'm looking forward to it. Best, Philipp
Hi Kev Dare I buy a 5 year old Oracle it has been with the same owner the whole time 2 people. What is there to consider if you buy a used oracle (Your videos have kept me glued to the computer all day) 😀
Great review 👍 just a quick question. I’ve got a Sage Barista Touch, had it for a couple of years and it still works perfectly. Now when you switch it on, it’s up and ready for coffee within about 3 maybe 4 seconds lol I’m thinking of getting the Oracle….. how long from when you switch it on, is it ready to make coffee ? Similar to yourself, I think I prefer buttons to a touch screen as you said in another video. Please keep the reviews and demonstrations coming Many thanks A discount code would be fantastic if you have one.
Age of paid video marketing. My Oracle touch, which I bought for $3300, breaks every few months. Everything inside is plastic and keeps breaking. For coffee lovers, buy a simple manual Italian machines with pipes made out of metal.
I think it was hard to get the 1:2.5 ratio on this with my light roast but what i have found is to get a consistent shot with this the hopper needs to be decently full or it starts to pop beams and u get a lesser shot. If i like single dose then this isn’t ideal. Can’t adjust the amount of grounds too it will always give u 22g in for a double shot when grinding
Hi Kev, this is a great review. I am considering this machine but I just want to know if Breville machines are well made and if the espresso comes out hot enough. I’ve read some people said it was just warm. Thank you, love your reviews.
Hi Gail, are you sure it was in respect of the Oracle machine that you read the comments about cool espresso? I'm aware of some discussion in that regard for the Barista Pro & Touch (shouldn't be the case if flushing is done but I think there may have been a batch issue at some point) but not for the Oracle. Cheers, Kev
Hi Kev, Im buying either the Oracle or Oracle Touch for my wife - I know nothing about coffee - what does the drink type buttons on the Touch screen do that the non touch doesn’t? Does the Touch add water or boil milk differently for different drinks?
Hi, which machine is better. 1- Delonghi La Specialista Arte Espresso. 2 - BREVILLE VCF153 Barista Max. 3 DELONGHI Dedica EC685M + Sage The Dose Control Pro Coffee Grinder Stainless. Thanks for any responses
Hello great vidoes! Just wanted to ask after the steam wand Purges should there be another noise from the machine ? I’ve noticed there is on the one I’m thinking of buying that’s secondhand. Thanks Scott.
Kev do you have the Oracle Touch? Are you able to adjust the steam temperature? In the Non-touch Oracle, there's an advance menu to alter steam power by adjusting the temperature - I can't seem to find this for the touch version?
Hey, Kev. Any ideas on this. Just finished off my first bag of supermarket bought coffee and tbh it was OK after I got dialled in. I bought some espresso coffee online from a roaster and I’m struggling to get things dialled in. Any tips for grind and tamp settings..?
I’m thinking of getting this but is it possible to get a larger travel cup size latte/cappuccino with this? I’ve been turned away from the Jura E8 for this reason. With the milk/wand set up of the sage it looks possible to get a travel cup size coffee?
Hi Kev, I love your videos and I am trying to decide between the Oracle and the Pro. I. Just wanted to ask you about Breville though. Are they well made machines that will last a long time? How is Breville as a company if you have a problem with your machine? Thank you so much.

would love to know the wear and tear of machine body and panels after use for a while.
The one thing you did not mention was puck prep?
Any tips for soy lattes?

Been 2 years with the touch version. I don’t use the built in grinder as the dosing is just too inconsistent. Everything else works awesome though.
Also what temp did you set your milk too? That seems to take a long time, I steam to 148 and it’s much faster.
150F (65C) but I think I overfilled the pitcher, how long it takes will depend on the volume of milk, and I probably could have used half that anount
Hi Jose. When you say inconsistent dosing, are you talking a relatively small inconsistency, 1/2g? Cheers, Kev
@@Coffee_Kev I’d say around 1/2 to a gram of coffee. Enough of a swing to not deliver consistent results as far as doing the shot.
You need to adjust the grind settings to compensate for the heat it generates
I’m thinking of getting this but is it possible to get a larger travel cup size latte/cappuccino with this? I’ve been turned away from the Jura E8 for this reason. With the milk/wand set up of the sage it looks possible to get a travel cup size coffee?
How many grams does it grind automatically

too expensive, you can get a real Italian machine for the same price!
There is no comparison with anything that there is in the market with this machine. Bean to cup at home, this is the best that you can get.
Did you skip tamping?
The machine tamps for you while grinding.
Sounded like ajhet engine. Dam loud. i fanncy one but the more videos i watch seams like alot of hastle and clearing for a coffee
That's not a review, that's just adulation in an ideal world.
Love you to go into the menu to fine tune it.
