Kev, in the background I see the Barista pro with a bellows/bulb! where did you get that? Can you cover the single-dosing setup for the Barista? I am very much trying to find something for single dosing the grinder on my Pro
Hi Igor, Yeah, I've had a few different ones on etsy: tidd.ly/35FZAdD I can't see the one with the bulb now, most are the bellows type but I prefer them over the ball type. Yes I'll do a video on these. Cheers :-), Kev.
just to say to anyone thinking about the oracle.. its the berries!! once you get it set, and you will find it needs setting to get best out of it, then it is super. thickest crema ive seen in over 40 years, and although the milk microfoam isnt perfecto, it better than most home users will do manually. it seems to appreciate darker roasts too. no issues with grinder either..top ho😄

Hi Kev, great review. I'm very much in doubt if i should go for something like a rocket Appartemento or maybe an Oscar 2, or something like this. The price is less important, the main point is to get a GOOD espresso shot - currently on a Gaggia Babila which im not happy with. So all in all - do you think i can achieve an espresso shot that tastes just as good on this mashine as i would a semi automatic with an E61 head?
Hello Kev, I am undecided on which model sage to go with either the oracle touch or barista touch and also the finish as at the moment there are some clearance prices on the black truffle finish and just wondered what your thoughts where on this compared to the all stainless finish as maybe the black truffle would be prone to scratches and chipping Thankyou
@@Coffee_Kev what do you think personally would produce a better tasting coffee? The oracle or the bambino plus with mid- high range grinder?? ( could be a good head to head video?)
@@dommymac7458 I think it depends on in whos hands. For the people these machines are really made for, I think the answer is the Oracle or Oracle touch will win every time, as they're not really made for the home barista. In the hands of an experienced home barista though, someone who has been honing their craft for a while, it would be an interesting battle. If you were to change that to the dual boiler with a mid - high range grinder in the hands of a seasoned home barista vs the Oracle or Oracle touch, the dual boiler would win hands down in my humble opinion. Cheers
@@dommymac7458 If your grinder is better, the end result will probably be better than a lesser grinder even on an otherwise better machine - but the Oracle machines do have some pretty nice features and probably the biggest one to me is the addition of temperature control. The Bambino Plus is great (it's the machine I use personally) but working with light roasts on it can be tricky because of the fixed temperature. Machines like the Barista Pro, Barista Touch, and the Oracles etc all offer that temperature control which can make it easier to dial in different roast levels.
After spending yesterday afternoon trying to dial in my new Oracle Touch I realise the accessory pack is missing an item. Sleeping pills. I didn't get a wink last night. Moving from a bean-to-cup machine, I've realised a few other things too. It's pointless buying a machine like the Oracle Touch if you are using supermarket beans. So your per-cup cost is going to rise quite a bit, because you will be buying from a specialist roaster. Also, the machine makes a *lot* of heat, and continues to radiate heat for quite a while after being turned off. That's nice if you are in a cold climate, but here in southern Europe, my kitchen can be 27C at times, and the last thing I want is the equivalent of a small room heater adding to the swelter. And I wouldn't want to position this beneath cupboards containing ingredients like flour or anything else that needs to be kept in a cool place. There's also more noise than from my old bean-to-cup. While the machine is on, there's a constant whirring sound (from a fan?). Not very loud, but noticeable. Lastly, no-one should be under any illusion that this is nearly as convenient as a bean-to-cup machine. There's a lot more to do, and more to understand about coffee making. It's much more convenient than a 'barista' type machine, but still quite a jump from a bean-to-cup. That's OK if you are a coffee-botherer, but might not be OK for other members of your household.

I love that step by step menu. Yes after a short time you get used to it you won't look at it. Great stuff this one.
Cheers Robert

Glad you are enjoying your Oracle Touch :-)
Enjoyed that. Do you time from 1st drop or button? I see this one asks for 1st drop?
Where was the b roll after you unboxed the machine.
Nice panning shot round the unit?
Lightings looking good though.
haha, coming soon Dave - watch this space
Are you going to do a full review of this machine?
Yup, on its way 👍

Any plans to do a review on the Barista Touch? Thanks in advance
I will add it to my filming list Neil :-)

Good stuff Kev. I would like to have seen the machine screen contents as an inset. I expect that might come in the detailed vid?
Yeah it will do Paul, more videos coming 👍
@@Coffee_Kev if possible I'd like your take on Siemens EQ9-700 as a lazy way to make a variety of coffees with minimal skill. That is my SuperPower!
Compare it to the dual boiler please :)
Will do :-) Cheers.
Yaahoo!amigo- Yeah, good .🎥
What beans would you recommend for a coffee novice
Hi, I always recommend good quality beans if you can get them, freshly roasted is the best way if you can afford them.

I actually prefer the black as the stainless steel finish really shows up your fingerprints :-)
Would we not be better to use the bambino plus and use a better grinder? Ie niech or a baratzza or commendante etc etc
Possibly, that depends on you. This is really intended to compete with high end bean to cup machines rather than home barista setups. Cheers :-)
