      +yokumato thanks! Was my ONLY phone for the month so I can confidently report back the findings. The others who "review" after a day of using any phone are meaningless.

    One of the best phones I've owned it's really really good, an awesome piece of kit with mammoth battery life two full days & a bit more.

    Using keyone for 2 weeks and feeling like a boss now. Keyone made me feel real phone for work with keyboard and super shortcut and you can power more with app "button mapper" which you can assign for free do more fuction of volume key, convenience key with three mode (single press,double,long press).
    And with play store of android also help me to find app for work & entertaiment.
    Love keyone

    Watching on my BlackBerry keyone device the best device in the market now with awesome battery life, so many shortcuts that gives assistive touch run for a mile, a million dollar physical keyboard, well managed and optimized RAM , opened is butter smooth, camera is not the best but a better one, security, HUB, blackberry privacy shade, blackberry notable application, n blackberry launcher.. The great battery life makes this the best optimized productivity mobile phone in today's market.. If blackberry provides software update till android P and for a two year atleast its gonna rock out of this world...

    The KeyOne is AWESOME!!! Great phone and so glad to see BlackBerry back and delivering the phone they always should have. The Priv got close, but even I didn't like it that much. Now the providers need to quit the bias and give the consumers the information and sales pitch to promote the product. I went to the AT&T store to transfer all my info over from my Galaxy 8+ and was ridiculed by pretty much everyone. They began the conversation by saying they probably couldn't do the transfer. It went seamless!!! They had no accessories so covers and screen protectors are coming via internet. The manager told me he would never have it in store because it wouldn't sell. Yep, with that kind of attitude it won't. RIM should ask that their vendors promote and show the product. This phone is far superior to my Galaxy 8+ I gave up for it!

    I bought Keyone (Silver) used it for 5 months and then bought Note 8. Then used it for 2 months, bought Keyone (Black) again, and back on it.
    The battery life is so addictive.

      had the samsung note 5 with keyboard cover for almost 3 years. recently upgraded to a note 8. bummer my specific variant of the note 8 doesnt support the keyboard cover. im thinking about getting the blackberry keyone limited edition black (dual sim), as i was very much inlove with physical keyboards. hows your black keyone so far? hows the battery life? day to day apps like facebook, sms, etc works ok compared to the note 8?

    Is a great phone, and BlackBerry did a great job adding features and security options on Android. I recently received the PRIV, the Passport Silver camera died (was not doing the auto focus). I received the phone on warranty exchange, they didn't charge me anything, they even paid the shipping, I received the shipping label on the box of the PRIV to return the defective one. I used the Silver Edition 7 months, they gave me a new phone without any problems on the claim process. The PRIV is not new, has been out for two years, but works great. That Keyone is a lot better, camera, battery, CPU, is a great option like you said on the video, for work and fun.

    One correction regarding the camera (as I am currently testing the Black Edition which came out this week) you can only set the shutter speed, exposure and iso aswell as white balance. Aperture is something you cannot change and it will stay fixed at 2.0 (I don't know about a smartphone camera which can actually change the aperture. Nearly impossible as aperture blades need to be super super tiny for this)

    • @LironSegev

    Great phone. I own it and I love it. I just wish the phone had more memory (I have 3GB version) because it keeps refreshing between apps in multitasking. The rumor is that the successor will come with 6gb of RAM and Snapdragon 660. This would be dream come true for me. Perfect phone.

      Awesome review! The more I learn about the KEYone, the more I warm up to it, but I'm still holding out for either a vertical slider or a KEYtwo XL (screen as tall as the Priv's, as wide as the Passport's, but w/ the KEYone's keyboard, Classic toolbelt or at least the return of physical call and end keys, and on-screen home buttons instead of the omnipresent capacitive ones) a man can dream, can't he?

      Great review. I have went from Nokia to Blackberry: Torch, then Q10 (unlocked) and now Passport SE (unlocked). I still prefer the BB10 OS, but I am planning to get the KeyOne to have the Blackdroid experience and support Blackberry. I think it is a great phone from all the reviews I have seen and has the best of both worlds. But to be honest having used other phones missing the gestures is a hard sell...but the fact there are so many keyboard shortcuts and the peek feature swiping from the right side on the KeyOne. Still such as life, competition is good for consumers and as a consumer I want Blackberry and Windows phone to succeed. Personally never got the slab life esp for typing and then losing screen real estate. Thanks again for a great video.

    I am considering the KeyOne, actually 3 cells, the other 2 the Motion or Pixel 2 ( not the XL, TG) I work outdoors,on the ocean, heavy weather (rain) that's why I'm interested in the IP67,but I'm missed the old keyboard , former BlackBerry Bold user. Then BlackBerry Q10, now DTEK50. Lousy battery life ( the KeyOne and Motion look kickass) so -so virtual keyboard, but love Android. I'm not a gamer, not interested in watching Videos on my cell that's what's my laptop and tablets are for.I use my cell for texting, emailing, some Skype and as a phone, imagine that ! One thing that peaked my interest in your review was, " If your in the Emergency Services this phone is for you. " I want a Tool , not a Toy. Thank you for your review of the KeyOne.

    I'd love the idea of getting this but the physical button navbar on a phone that should really be using as much screen real estate as it can is a massive turn off. If they got rid of that I'd highly consider getting this phone, here's hoping the KeyTwo remedies this.

  • @bludshed4816
    @bludshed4816 6 років тому

    As a BB OS 10 fan I couldn't stand the KEYone. It was nice for a day or two (shortcuts on the QWERTY are a blessing), but the over sized feel of the handset felt completely unnecessary at times when I wasn't using the keyboard, and the screen felt too big at times when I was. IMHO BB should stick to keeping their handsets all touchscreen on Android, or look into using a smaller 3:4 landscape orientated display like the qwerty BB's from the golden age. Good to seem them still trying though.

    I've used Blackberry for 15 years. I have the Blackberry Z now. Don't "need" to update, but I think I should kinda get caught up ... and then get caught up again in another 10 years. smh @ how much phone cost nowadays though. I guess these "kids" don't feel it, but I cringe at anything above $200 ... which is pretty much EVERYTHING nowadays.

      Agreed. Keeps us in debt (cars, phones, etc). But since I'm doing more and more radio show debates/dialogs, I'm not happy with how "muffled" I SOUND. So, I'm thinking I need a new phone. Otherwise, as long as I can TALK, I'm good. I have two computers that I can used for surfing, etc. Don't need, or want, a phone for Internet purposes.

    16-20 hours =/= two days of use. Many newer android phones will perform that well too. Shoot, my S8 on mid power savings will last from 7am to midnight and still have 35-50% of battery, depending on the amount that I use it (includes connected to a smartwatch, wifi, etc).

    Another question I have managed to find anywhere an answer for - does it support cross-device search through applications?
    Well, back in the days I used to have the original BB, you would just start typing and it would bring you contacts, emails, notes, etc. A very same functionality iPhones offer today.
    I am wondering if the KEYone has the same.
    I would appreciate if you could check.

      Blackberry knows about the screen issue and has told everyone who has one to make them aware, and they should be able to fix it/replace your phone since it's still under warranty. They've resupplied all vendors with fixed versions without that defect. :)

    Keyone experience goes to hell after a few more months of usage. The level of performance on this phone becomes unbearingly bad after a few months. I don't even use mine as my main phone so it isn't loaded down with hundreds of apps, files, etc and it can quite literally take upwards of 20+ seconds to launch apps sometimes. I find the worst performance to come after the keyone is left alone in sleep mode for a while. I'll then get a notification and decide to check my phone and be smacked with a 20 second load time to open up my email app. I'm almost certain a reset/wipe of the phone will clear the issues (after all the phone was speedy in the first few weeks of usage) but if a phone needs to be wiped every few months to prevent utterly unacceptable levels of lag, then I'm moving on to a different device. This phone is not a "productivity" tool as it can't keep up due to the mediocre chipset and seemingly poorly optimized software. I bought this keyone as a nostalgia play as I had a few Bolds in the past so I am really sad that the experience turned out so horribly in the long run.

  • @remi1213
    @remi1213 7 років тому +8

    the keyboard of Blackberry Passport is way better! The sensitive physical keyboard of the keynote is slow compare to the PASSPORT. I think the problem is software because de Blackberry priv has the same problem. Bb10 was more powerful os, Android is a little bit slow. The 2 letters shortcuts by letter is good! The finger print sensor is good! The battery is good but some Android applications drain the battery like google maps. iPhone X stole bb10 features! So i hope that Android will do the same!!!! BB10 was really faster and really more fluide os! i like the keyone but i am little bit disappoint about the keyboard! The Keyboard is good but not has good than Passport! The hub is way better on bb10 os.

      The Keyone is getting better and improvements every days by updates. You should buy the keyone, but for me I have two Passports and one Keyone, iam selling the keyone to buy the Black edition... Passport and KEYone are a good team to use ! For email, to write, Passport is the best ! But keyone black edition has 64 gig internal storage and 400 gig microsd storage SanDisk that you can add ! You will be not disappoint with the Keyone ! 2 shortcuts by letter will make you more productive ! With Android oreo lots of good features are coming ! But the Passport has a better sensitive keyboard ! Really better ! And in my opinion the Passport is the best BlackBerry phone ever built ! Bb10 is more fluid and stable than Android os. Bb10 is faster ! But the keyone give a boost to Android slow os with the 2 letters short key option ! And you have all apps on google play store, but lots of publicity in apps!

    Love the phone, frustrated with Verizon's failure to properly provision it on their network, advanced calling is not available.

    • @pkrohnert
      @pkrohnert 7 років тому +1

      Did this last night, it worked for me on Verizon:
      Go to the phone app, select the dial pad
      Dial (copy/paste) this in: **#*#46368676#*#**
      The Testing screen shows up.
      Select "phone information".
      Uncheck Cellular Radio Power, VoLTE Provisioned, Video Calling Provisioned, then re-check them.
      Then restart your phone.
      Go into Settings, 3rd option should be Advanced Calling.
      Make sure it's turned on, select the option for HD Voice only.

    • @pkrohnert
      @pkrohnert 7 років тому

      Ah, I see what happened - UA-cam edited the code that I pasted (which is why it's in bold).
      I edited it in my previous comment - it should now start and end with asterisks ("*")
      First, copy this code: **#*#46368676#*#**
      When you launch the phone app, click the numeric keypad icon at the bottom middle, so that you see the numbers.
      Then, long-press in the number field, and then select paste - you shouldn't have to hit dial, it should just immediately show the "Testing" screen.

  • @Browningate

    It's definitely a solid package, but I'd much rather have a horizontal slider keyboard, like the one on my Samsung Epic, than the cramped vertical unit seen on this phone. I can't see the typing accuracy being any better than with Swype or Gboard.

    • @LironSegev
      @LironSegev  7 років тому +3

      its a very different experience. I use Swype on my Samsung and I love that keyboard, however what I noticed on the KEYone is that because of that tactile key press you tend to type more like a pc/laptop keyboard so I personally noticed that accuracy and speed increase when typing longer form (documents, blog posts etc.) In quick one liner sms or WhatsApp - there wasn't really a big difference like you say.

    • @Browningate
      @Browningate 7 років тому

      @Liron
      You're probably right. I've had relatively little experience with typing with a vertical keyboard on a cell phone, so it might just be a matter of the learning curve.

    Blackberry KEYone had known manufacturing fault that the company has covered up. The screen on units falls out. Not enough glue at the time of manufacturer. Their support centres know and have confirmed this, but rather than just swap units want customers to jump thru hoops. Very disappointing that a company like Blackberry should hide a known fault.

    • @LironSegev
      @LironSegev  6 років тому

      +Maddi P it all depends on what you want in a phone as we might want different elements in a phone. For example, you might think that music is more important than camera and for me it's the other way. So I wouldnt say one is better than another, it's all depends on your usage. Tip: go into a store and ask to play with both. See which one feels better for you.

    • @LironSegev
      @LironSegev  7 років тому

      It's not about the number of subscribers, it's about an audience and being genuine in delivering the content. You don't need millions of subs and views to get a brand's attention. You just need to show that you understand the product, the brand, its direction and how you can deliver value. I have been working with brands when I only had handful of subscribers, started doing paid for deals before I reached 1000 subs. I also run a tech blog so I can show brands how I translate their product/ service into a way my audience can relate to. Hope that helps and I apologize for the misunderstanding.

Blackberry has the BEST battery life of ANY phone out there right now including quick charge. its a Power House in terms of battery life. but movies is a battery killer I dont think ANY phone on the market right now could watch more then 3 FULL LENGTH MOVIES.
