I remember loading in with a normal deck thinking “Gonna see a ton of Dinomorphia probably” seeing Hinotama hit the field and suddenly remembering all the burn spells exist.
I thought of the burn cards immediately but completely forgot about all the ways to counter burn with hand traps so that going 1st wasn't a guaranteed win every time. I mean, that's definitely the case MOST of the time just like in the regular game, but I thought Hanewata was basically the only option.

If you're only interested in the fastest games possible, then yeah, but there's a LOT of other ways to secure victory besides just Boomer Burn. If I wasn't spending so much time in Kingdom of Loathing's Crimbo event I'm sure there would've been *DOZENS* of decks to try out.

Funnily enough, I had better luck with the free pack than I did with the dozens of other Legacy Packs I've pulled before and since. I've gotten 4rth or higher of SRs and URs left and right but that free pack not only got me my FIRST *EVER* copy of Last Warrior From Another Planet, but because of the special properties of the pack it was a Foil Finish.

44 gems can't even buy 1 card pack. It's like giving a person a quarter and expecting them to somehow make due with it.

I just played D/D/D Leonidas and Speedburst Dragon to hard punish burn. Hanewata and some LP gain sprinkled in also helped.

Guys, im not even kidding with extreme 2 event, run basic blackwings, no assaults, just the dragon, its funny as sht to watch these aholes run away terrified.
Make sure to summon it in attack mode though. I was playing the burn deck and came against a blackwing player that summoned the dragon in defense mode. I normaled Eco, killed the dragon, and burned them in m2.
If you want to be anti-burn, I recommend cards like Eco, Hanewata, or even Kuriphoton. The blackwing package only works if you go first.

Y'know instead of being degenerates and burning you do realize you can do the opposite and heal yourself right? I summon Ruinforce and active Destruct Potion! I destroy my monster and gain that many life points, but that's not all, I get to summon more monsters once Ruinforce is destroyed. Point being, people will always be degenerates if they can get away with it. I didn't play a single burn card. They just scoop once my life points are basically 8000.
Most players were farming demon title in the event while you were being a nice guy
