People start worshipping the soil and the dirt for the exact reasons Louis is talking. The dirt has value, you can grow shit in it, it has life and bla bla bla

New Yorkers are so cut off from nature. Some of them NEVER LEAVE New York state, or even the city, they schlep around that Hellscape all their lives and the mountains are nearby, the most amazing landscape of North America is a few hours journey away.
