@@georgehernandez2156 Terminator 3 gave me following impression: The writers knew very well, that they couldn´t write a story as deep and epic as T:2, so they tried to amp up everything else. The firetruck scene felt very much like "let´s top the truck chase!". But every once in a while I throw in T:3 and enjoy it for what it is 🙂

This is why I appreciate special features and behind the scenes footage - it's like a movie in it's own and gives you such an appreciation for the work on the artistic side of things. I know a ton of people disliked the Hobbit movies for example (I personally enjoyed them) but seeing how much effort the crew put into sets, costumes and world building is astonishing.

0:20 The inside of the T-800 skull is actually the inside half of the gearbox clamshell used on the Tamiya SRB series of RC racing buggies (the first came out in 1979), with the other half used on the other side of the skull. Even if this modern version does not use the original part, it was still modeled from that gearbox used in the Original T-800 from Terminator.

@@dan_hitchman007 I agree somewhat. For 2015 it's good. If they did it today the lighting and textures would be better making the skin look more realistic. One of the aspects I didn't like is when they pulled away and did the far shot of the Terminator running. They must have not used Mocap since it looks pretty bad. The replacement punks weren't very convincing either. Maybe I shouldn't have used the word "Brilliant", but rather well done. Dude, this movie in particular is a guilty pleasure of mine😂 I don’t hate to admit that I find it enjoyable. Cheesy? Yes, very much so. But I believe it adds charm to the movie and what it tries to do to tribute the older films as well as introduce new ideas to what could’ve been fresh and exciting. Maybe not as great as T2, but great in its own right, taking place in a different timeline and whatnot. I jokingly wonder if they could’ve maybe somehow connected this timeline with the main one in an epic battle of wits and hardcore action, but that idea already gives me a headache from how convoluted and messy that would be. I wish they would have continued and finished the trilogy, but I guess the box office determines otherwise😒

Only if you view something with little to no movement. Directors will always prefer practical for these reasons.
But dozens of walking T800’s full scale is simply not possible with practicals, and stop motion miniatures doesn’t look great these days, hence why the practical version was simply there as a lighting reference for cg artists as an example.
Even the outtro pointed to the need to join forces between practical and cg, there is no getting away from the desire of directors to do some extraordinary things in cg that can’t be done with practical/animatronics.

I've been saying, pitching really, a Terminator movie called Terminator: Creator, about the origin of the Terminators, who created them and why, and perhaps a team sent back to kill the creator. The twist is that the lead scientist who creates them, as military assets, is played by Arnie, who created the initial prototype in his own image, because he used to be a body builder and figured a large, scary frame would look intimidating. I can see in my mind a scene where maybe a junior scientist starts working there and meets the boss, who turns around and it's Arnie, in a white lab coat and glasses, with parts of the creation scattered around. In his office are framed pictures on the wall of Arnie as Mr Olympia from real life. Very Meta.
The plot could involve the military wanted to use their new AI to control the Terminators, and Arnie realises the danger of these things being controlled by a computer system, with no human intervention, so he teams up with some people to destroy the facility. The military activate the machines and good fights ensure, but Judgement Day occurs and all is lost.

I have so much damned respect for artists. It’s really amazing how some people can really bring images to life. They’re definitely more valuable than most of us peons who are only good at playing arm chair director and running our mouths more than actually being able to tangibly produce something of merit.

To be honest, this movie is one of my favorite Terminator movies. My biggest complaint is the actors for Sarah Conor and Kyle Reese, but besides that, this movie is a lot of fun, and the plot and story is great.
