Thanks for the informative video,,, I was stuck at disconnecting the wires, didn't realize I could turn the starter around, the wires are so short.

No problem. Yeah these wires were some of the most tedious to mess with.

@@hyr0llr ,, I spent most of the day today putting in that AC Delco starter, it was BRUTAL...!
The power line is super stiff, and wouldn't let me bolt in the starter until I lined it up right.
I dropped half a dozen little washers into never-never land.
The long bolt on the starter didn't want to lone up with the top hole,
But in the end, it works great,🤠

      @@hyr0llr ,, cool. thanks.
I forgot , also, the copper connector on the Signal Line broke during the removal of the Bosch starter, I let it dangle for a moment and it broke off.
So I used a section of power tool grade extension wire as it looked to be the same gauge copper wire, I used a wire nut for a god tight connection and filled in the open end of the wire nut with rubber cement for a water tight seal.
and used a standard yellow flat washer style crimp-on ,,, works good.

@@jodopeg gotta do what you gotta do to get by lol that's why I took off the signal wire first, to have the weight on the power since it was a bigger wire. hope that wire nut last so you don't have to mess with that rubber cement down the road.

I wished that someone can explain to me how to get out my starter from 98 s10? After taking off everything on the starter I still can not get the starter to drop out the motor. Do I need to take off exhaust flange bolts?

Replaced my 98 S-10 2.2l starter today. It was 4:30 and wanted to finish it by 6:30 (starting time for the Super Bowl). Moved the transmission support, removed the small plate on bell housing and removed the mounting bolts. Was not able to move the starter enough to disconnect the wires with a socket and ratchet nor with a combination wrench. Was able to put wrench adapters on sockets to enable use of a ratcheting box wrench instead of a ratchet on the sockets for removal of the wire connections. Did the work on a gravel driveway using a flashlight and a headlamp. Got everything back together just in time for the kickoff. Without those adapters, this would have been very difficult. If you don't have any, I would recommend buying some. Made many jobs much easier.@@marktaylor3316

At 5:32 the right side starter, the top small stud.
