I am a novice, beginner-beginner quilter. I must tell you that I have learned "sew" many techniques and project ideas from your free tutorials. You have given me a gift and I thank you. (P.S. I love shopping your online store!)
I agree completly Laura! I saw my first quilting video 9 months ago. I have never had a strong desire to quilt until I watched their videos. Now I can't get enough. If I won the lottery I would buy a never ending supply of fabric just to keep up with all the projects that MQC has :)
Agreed! I'd never made quilts (only garments) and now I've completed 7 quilts since watching one of Jenny's tutorials last May. Quilt number 8 is almost complete!
Jenny you are a true sewlebrity, and give great tutorials. Have just recieved my new brother innov'is 350 and itching to use it. Please keep on giving us newbies help, would be lost without your guidance ...Many Thanks Jenny
I fell in love with the Disappearing Nine Patch and I showed my friend who absolutely went bonkers for it too! It made it so easy for her to make a pattern that looks like she did a lot of work and didn't!!!! I am definitely going to make sure she sees this too! We both love you Jenny! You are our inspiration for quick and easy quilts using precuts! Happy Mother's Day!
I watch tons of youtube videos, however, I would have to say your tutorials are the best!! I'm just learning to sew and all of your videos inspire me so much (as do all the charm packs and fabric in your store). You are truly gifted!! Thank you :)
That was such an easy idea, when I first saw it I was dreading putting together little pieces. But should I have known that you, Ms. Jenny would have a fun, easy way to do that block. The quilts are gorgeous and I love the color schemes.
Kat, all of their videos are just great for beginners. I made a baby quilt using their Xs and Os tutorial and it turned out great. Their binding tool tutorial is great too, I start and stop as I do the project, that way I'm never lost.
After I cut the window pane 9 patch into fourths, I also added additional sashing to give it a little different look, plus it added to the size. Love it!
I used the window pane for my first patch. It helped hide my seams not matching. Thanks so much for all you great tutorial's you have made it so I could go through the challenges. Now, I can have fun with it.
I'm very happy I found this easy to follow tutorial. I've never made a quilt. For some unknown reason the thought scares me. It's not like I'm going to be publicly ridiculed if I make a hash of it. Any way your tutorial is really informative. I'm going to cut up fabric right away and give it a try. By the way the only bit I found difficult to concentrate on was your explanation after you used your iron the first time. I now have iron envy. That is the coolest iron o. the planet. lol!!! Thank you.
This is so cool and easy. I can't wait to make something with this idea. I also love all your tutorials. I just watch them over and over to get new ideas to make. Keep up the great work.
Jenny, can't tell you how much I've enjoyed the video's. I am looking forward to making one in a floral charm pack.....love listening to you and your laugh.
@@ernestwelon21 Hi there, I’m doing great and thanks for asking. My quilt is ready to Machine stitch anytime. I may start canning next week so I’ll need to put quilt aside a few weeks. How are you doing on your projects?
@@ernestwelon21 Hi Ernest, I guess we could. Let me know your e-mail, I’ll send you a reply. Fall is in the air. Time to get out the Winter projects, and most likely add a few more. ♈️
Great tutorial. I watched the disappearing nine patch tutorial and made one a few weeks later. I've not yet posted a picture of it because it is a surprise gift for someone special! Shhhh! Now I have to try a disappearing nine patch window pane quilt, right after I finish my chevron quilt (from your tutorial). I'm using the Honey, honey layer cake. Can't wait until it's done!
Jenny, thanks so much for your wonderful videos and style of teaching. I've quilted for about 15 years but developed a brain disorder that has caused problems with my memory. I'm basically a beginner again because most of my memory regarding quilting is gone. Fortunately, I know that I loved it because of all my the fabric in my fabric closet, 4 sewing machines and a HUGE collection of scissors, cutters, mats, etc. ☺ (Please know that I'm not meaning to solicit pity here. My life is so richly blessed in the most important ways and I count my blessings for every memory I do have. ☺) A joyful part of these blessings include watching your videos and having "oh yeah" moments when I think "now I remember that!" and when I learn something new quickly because of your fabulous teaching style. You make everything so easy to understand. More "yeah" moments! ☺ The bottom line is that people often take for granted the gifts they naturally give to others because that behavior is natural for them. My purpose here is to say thank you to one of those special people - you, Jenny. You naturally give the gifts of new memories and joy just by being you and in ways you've probably never realized. God bless your team and you. And thank you for the many gifts you give me by helping to bring the joy of quilting into my life again and again! Have to go quilt now - bye!!! ☺☺ ☺ PS: I'm a Missouri girl also. My family lived in northern Missouri on a farm in Putnam County and I went to high school in Unionville, MO. It's a small world! ☺☺☺)
I love this! I really like the lighter sash color between the blocks like the one you have on the wall there, so that the blocks get all the attention, and I think it makes a better illusion overall.
I love your tutorials and great ideas. I have gleaned a lot of tips and ideas even tho I have been sewing and quilting all my life. I have never done or heard of a coin quilt. I am on a service mission with my husband here in Laie, Hawaii. Early Christian missionaries brought sewing and quilting to the islanders and we are managing the Old Mission Home...turned quilt and gifts shop (Hawaiian quilts are amazing too) and I am using some of your ideas to help use the many scraps that need to be turned into treasures. Its fun to see quilters and sewers go Ga-ga over these beautiful Hawaiin fabrics! Thank you
I have gotten addicted to watching the UA-cam videos, Especially watching Jenny with Missouri Star Quilting. She has inspired me to make a lot of beautiful quilts. "Thank You Jenny."
Chose this for my very first quilt. I didn't have to match seams. there are a hundred little defects, but still good for my first quilt and I only started using a sewing machine a week ago.
Me encanta tu trabajo, he aprendido con tus tutoriales, aunque no entiendo nada de ingles, con lo que veo deduzco y aprendo. Pero lo que me impacto fue tu plancha, como se levanta sola. Saludos
I am so new to quilting that I haven't even seen all of your videos yet. However, right now, this is my favorite video. I really love the look of this block with the black strips. You are great at explaining things, so a super novice like me can understand and get so excited about quilting. I am currently working on my first ever quilt and I am having a lot of fun!
I just made this today and it was so easy. I made 12 9 patches so I have a 3x4 9 patch cut apart, should make a nice quilt for my son! I was worried if I should sash the cut blocks but I see you didn't.. so I won't. I'll put it together tomorrow morning, add a border then quilt it. Add the binding and I'm done in 2 days!!
I am just a beginning quilter. I have been sewing since I was a kid but quilting is a new venture & I think your videos are wonderful. But I just had to share this! Both my sewing machine & my steam iron have been acting up very badly & for the last few months so I've been 'window shopping' for others. I found the iron you have & just heard about Baby Lock sewing machines from a friend for the first time yesterday. When I mentioned them to my husband, he said 'yeah but, are they any good?' I think I'm going to send your video to him! =D
I love the look of this quilt! Wish I had seen this tutorial before I started my current project!!! Guess what I will be doing for my next quilt??!! Thanks Jenny!
Love that Jenny. Will have to have a go once I've done the (long) list of other tempting patterns you've shown. Thanks so much, you're videos are really appreciated.
I think you forgot the disclaimer that when we subscribe and go to your website we will catch the quilting bug and become quilting fanatics! Since the first video I watched 6 months ago I have made 4 quilts and have many more bouncing around in my head to make next, lol. Thank you Jenny and crew for all the great teaching videos. I am a beginner yet you make me feel like a pro!!
Love this quilt pattern. I am making it using Clothworks Mojito fat quarters cut into 5" squares and black honey bun strips. Almost finished putting all the window panes together, 2 more to go.
Hi Jenny, I love this idea, I might do it, or just the normal disappearing 9-patch. As I'm very new to quilting, I think I'll start off simply & work to harder things!!!!!! Thank you so much for all your great tutorials I think your awesome. Maggie all the way from Hampshire in Great Britain.
Thank you for the new tutorial! I love it. Thank you so much for sharing your great ideas with us! I love the Disappearing 9 Patch. This will be so much fun and adds a whole new dimension to it. LOL God bless you and happy sewing!
I think I'll make this w/ my Hello Gorgeous charm pack that I got as the daily deal a few weeks ago! The border could be the garden party print or the fancy frond in mojito print! Black sashing and binding. Fun!
I love all your videos. I'm just starting my first quilt and you make it seem as though I can do it even though I've never done anything creative before, thank you
