Great informational video! I just got my first Engelhard Waffle back bar today. I am excited! I have the E and the Eagle pressed bars in my collection also. Thank you again for the information!
Great question. We had lots of anecdotal evidence of those early gold rush era bars but very few actual examples until the discovery of the SS Central America wreck in the late 1980s. The Central America sank in 1857 carrying hundreds of gold bars and thousands of gold coins from the gold fields of California. That was a nice video, very informative. I don't collect old bars at all, but it was interesting. Ten ounce bars are a great size, just a nice weight. I like the 10oz Scottsdale Stackers, and Brittania bars.
Very cool presentation,
original and informative,
Thank you.

What about the wild west, stagecoaches and that time in history.
Were there Silver Bars and Gold bars being produced back then ?
