Did you know that the identity of Pharaoh in the Moses story has been debated, but many scholars feel that Exodus has King Rameses the second in mind.
Scholars dated the Moses story around 1446 BC when the Egypt Pharaoh was Tuthmoses the second who reigned 1479 to 1425 BC. The Bible mentioned the city Rameses built by the Israelites slaves and this made scholars believe that Seti and Ramses the second were the Pharaohs from the Exodus.
Hatshepsut would have been the pharaoh at the time Moses fled Egypt but the Bible refers him as a male.
Many believe he is Ramses the second, while others believe he is Seti or Seth the first. Some scholars felt Akhenaton was the Pharaoh during plagues and Tutankhamun was the killed son or even Moses is identified with Akhenaton himself.
Tuthmoses the first was Pharaoh at the time of Moses’ birth, Hatshepsut was Pharaoh during the time Moses fled, Tuthmoses second was considered the pharaoh of the oppression in Exodus and his son Amenhotep second was considered the pharaoh of the Exodus. And the question still remains

Which Manetho? There are 4 different versions of him. We dont have the original Manetho, his writings only survive in quotations by other authors. Each of the 4 versions claims a different Pharaoh.

The Exodus Pharaoh is Amenhotep II, this is documented historically and he is the only option. Ramses II came longer after Moses. This is bad history.
And where exactly is that documented historically? There were more Pharaohs during Moses. I mentioned Amenhotep but you didn't pay attention.
@@ABCFacts101 Manetho was an Egyptian historian who wrote in detail about Exodus and that the pharaoh was Amenhotep II. This was covered by Josephus. We know the Exodus happened 480 years before the temple was finished, that puts it at 1466 BC. The ruler during that time is Amenhotep II. Amenhotep IIs predecessor ruled for 40+ years which is inline with the Bible. In addition, his first born child died, which is also inline with the Bible. It is impossible for Ramses to be pharaoh. The city called Rameses, was an updated Biblical name, they did this all the time so people would know what they were talking about. So when Moses said about Abraham that 'he pursued them unto Dan', Dan wouldn't exist for like another 500+ years, but he associated the place with the name of that place as the Israelites knew it at that time.

I like this topic a lot , I created another video about archeological evidence of Exodus, we have few, and many Afrocentrists punched me, some say everything is a lie, some said Jesus and Moses were black. Well that was gross. I was thinking maybe the Exodus story is a very sophisticated metaphor about seeking redemption, slavery is just virtual, wandering across Negev is just virtual and all means how hard is the way back to the garden of Eden. If you say Manetho described facts on that, I didn't know and I will look it up. Thanks.
@@ABCFacts101 Professor Doug Petrovich has loads of good videos on this topic. I disagree with him on a major point though, which is when did the Israelites first enter Egypt. It was 215 years prior to the Exodus, not 430. Exodus 12:40 was corrupted by the Jews.

This is totally wrong, Ramses ran it later, there's a very good breakdown video about it named "The Exodus Pharaoh EXPLAINED!" by expedition bible, he actually CONFIRMS that it's Amenhotep the 2nd, cause the bible says the person before him reigned as leader for at least 40 years, the pharaoh before ramses only reigns for 11 years. its also said that the pharaoh's first born will die in the bible as punishment for how he treated the israelites, Amenhotep II's son mysteriously died and his 2nd son gets the throne. It's also said that the Ramses theory came about cause there was also a later date in the exodus (12th century BC) instead of 15th BC like amenhotep II
