Why'd you skip attaching the brackets to the new side plates on the new unit. That's exactly whata not working for me. Screw holes on rhe new head unit are miss aligned by 1-2 millimeters and its messing up the whole install.
I did use the brackets for the install. I may have missed this step while editing the video. The head unit should have come with 2 sets of brackets. If it’s not lining up try the other set.
I ended up returning it. The 9" may work but I've seen people saying the WiFi disconnects periodically. 🤷♂️. Not sure what I'm going to do at this point to upgrade the stereo
Is there a plug to install the XM antenna? Also, was the second camera cable so you could install a front mounted camera? Does it sound the same as your OEM? I've heard it can be too bright? Thanks for your great video
Thank you for this tutorial! The one thing that drove me crazy is the backup camera. I thought I got the wiring wrong, but it was the CanBus. The CB047 and CB004-X share the same CanBus. I needed to detach from CB047 and attach it to the CB004-X 😅
Did you used the Sim card and if you did how did it work I got the same unit 2 months ago ans the Sim card work for a bit and stop working so I have to returned I like to use the unit as stand alone wirh the tmobile sim card I have a 2023 toyota 4Runner sr5 premium How's the quality of the backup camera now with the unit?
I’ve installed a few of these Android units but I’ve never put a sim card in. I’ve always been curious of how well it works. Camera quality is great and it’s much nicer having the bigger screen.
WiFi and CarPlay will not work at the same time. This is common for Android head units. I have not found one that does. If someone knows of one I would really like to check it out. This is something they really need to fix.
Have you noticed that your top clips are easily detachable? They are clipped in but easily can be pulled out
Great job. You make it look very easy. I can't wait to put mine in now
Thank you! I hope the video helps with your installation.
What was the cable in the back of the dash that i didn’t see you connect before putting in the new head unit?
I would have to rewatch to see but possibly the back up camera.

@@Paulinaandjosh I noticed that some videos show two sets of plates. Mine only came with one set of plates. 😑

What about the mic? can you use the stock mic or need to install an aftermarket one?
The head unit has a built in mic. It also comes with an external mic.
Thank you for the video. Will this work the same for the Limited JBL version?
All functions are the same as the JBL version. The JBL version is only needed if you have stock JBL speakers.
Do the steering wheel functions still work with this install?
They sure do!

Great video and detailed installation, congrats and thanks
Thanks for watching!
Great install vid. Did you go with the 64gb or 128gb unit?
Did you disconnect the battery before install? Just curious
I did not but disconnecting the battery first is always a good idea.

Super informative 👌 thanks!
Can an amplifier and subwoofer be installed with this unit ?
Yes it can. If you do hook up an amp and sub let me know how the unit performs. I’m very curious. I haven’t done it yet but I’ve had a few people ask.
@@Paulinaandjosh Absolutely; Not a problem. I also haven’t seen anyone share information on it either
Just installed this the other day - realized my indash OEM compass is now off. Are you pivy to this problem?
How do you get it to connect to wifi without using SIM card? To download apps or use Netflix
