    I checked many different recipes in japanese and english on youtube and cookpad for example, but 90% of the sauce used is just japanese worcestershire sauce with tonkatsu sauce mixed together or even powder from instant yakisoba... Yours is made from scratch completely, that's what I was searching for!!! 今すぐ作ってみますよ。教えていただいたどうもありがとございます!! :)

    I have made it exactly like this but have changed the sauce and ingredients to my taste..
    It is an awesome dish that is cheap, easy to make and fills you more than I thought o.O
    Anyway, you are the best cooking channel on youtube in my opinion, not too formal.. That way I can keep watching it and get new ideas every time.

      Bas van der Meij what sauce did you make?

    • @basbas63
      @basbas63 9 років тому +2

      Hägar Einherjer I chose to get some beef instead and I added some leek to the dish.
      For the sauce I used brown sugar instead of honey and regular sugar. For the rest I use a little bit less ketchup and add just a tiny bit of Worcestershire sauce and a bit of bell pepper powder.
      :)

      Ewan Fuller It is not easy to make Asian noodles and no one even knows how to make them unless they have professions related to it (e.g. hand/factory noodle makers).
      And the types of noodles you can use are determined by each unique dishes. Usually the name gives it away: Yakisoba (yakisoba noodle), Yakiudon (udon noodle), Udon (udon noodle), zarusoba (buckwheat soba noodle). It's just that noodle for Yakisoba is a yellow noodle so any yellow noodles that looks similar to it would work as well, unless you are really picky. And there's a dish called Yakiudon as well so you can also use udon noodle or any white noodle that looks similar. I suggest to you to just look up each recipe for each noodle dish that you want to cook. And it should mention what type of noodle you need for it.

    • @bluei0702
      @bluei0702 9 років тому

      Ewan Fuller Also, if you want to request for a video, you have to send him an intro video including you requesting him to cook a specific dish you want. But I don't think he can do a video explaining how to make noodles and things like that.

    Hi @runnyrunny999 . I have lived in Japan for 1 year in the past and tried many different Yakisoba. Oshoo Yakisoba for example, "festival" yakisoba, and by the looks of it, these Yakisoba you've made as well.
    I'm home now and dying for some good Japanese cooking and I firmly believe you have some awesome cooking.
    For some reason I don't get this recipe to taste right at all. Is it really that big a difference with bacterias that gives taste around the world?
    What am I doing wrong? 日本の食べ物が欲しいです!

    For the oil, you can use almost any oil you want, sesame oil just add more taste... For the oyster sauce, big grocery store generaly have some (In asia product section). If not (or for any other reason), you can use Hoisin sauce. It's not the SAME thing, but both of them have the same texture and both are good. Hoisin is sweet and Oyster is salty.
    Either way, you can replace it with any sauce you want, just pick one you like very much ! Like he said in an other video, you can improvise !

    Quoting someone doesn't automatically make you right (neither do capitals).. let me think.. what other type of people like to quote something like its gospel.. oh religious people, don't they often quote the bible like its the truth? not just a bunch of crap written by oppressive men? These people weren't trying not to assume, they just didn't take the time to think. yes perhaps everyone could be a genius, but even a genius is stupid if he doesn't stop and think and make logical decisions.

  • @Dawgmeatt
    @Dawgmeatt 12 років тому

    It is human nature, but it's a bad habit. It's basing knowledge off a guess. When I ASSUMED you were religious I was doing it quite evidently to be ironic. Since it REALLY seemed like you were the type. Again, my point is these people are trying not to assume. They obviously don't know something. Here, let me quote MOTHER FUCKING EINSTEIN. “Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.”

  • @brenda0006
    @brenda0006 12 років тому

    -.- no I do not believe in god actually, I am an atheist, I mean each to their own for people who are religious, I have no problem with that, but no, I am not religious. and man, you are not right, I cant see how you think you are. I'm not sure if you were one of the people who didn't know what meat to use or not. but if you weren't, honestly tell me if you couldn't use pork what would be your obvious first solution to that problem? Just you're first thought on how to solve the problem.

  • @bambamcc91
    @bambamcc91 12 років тому

    Okay...in a literal sense pigs are dirty...I guess. Im just saying that people should leave him alone about what he chooses it eat. its unnecessary to make comments insulting how he eats. Its rude...religious or not. Thats all I was trying to say. I guess I didnt mean to target you specifically I was just responding the the thread. Stating my opinion on that matter thats all. Jesus.

  • @bambamcc91
    @bambamcc91 12 років тому

    Actually, It is an insult when you call someone else's food "Dirty" or "Disgusting." And that is what I said "not all people take religion to that extent..." So... yeah. Some comments like "that pork is dirty" even from a religious standpoint, are NOT necessary. If you don't like pork or beef then why are you even watching a video about it in the first place? He obviously is okay with eating pork so why bug him about it just because you believe its wrong? He is allowed to believe what he wants

  • @kennikitty
    @kennikitty 12 років тому

    Of course there's nothing wrong with pork, but depending on the cultural background of a person, one might find eating pork disgusting. In some cultures pigs are considered as "diry" or... well... "impure" might be a better way to describe it, so they don't eat it (muslims for example).
    There are nicer ways of expressing yourself than cLozze1996 did and when we have to understand that some cultures don't eat pork, they also have to accept that we eat it.

  • @brenda0006
    @brenda0006 12 років тому

    Im getting "pissy" for people asking a DUMB question, saying: "Can I use wheat flour instead, to make it healthier?" yes that is a good question. being all "herp derp i can't eat pork what do i do?" -.- that is a dumb question. Seriously what the hell do they do with every other bloody recipe that has pork in it?

  • @SoulCyclone12
    @SoulCyclone12 12 років тому

    I really like your video all around, some suggestion I have is when your tasting the food, sometimes I find you running out of things to say so I think you maybe can say something relating to the food you're eating or how the food relates or can be related to other culture, good luck in the end you always make entertaining endings. Keep up the good work!

    The funny thing is, other animals live in the same dirty circumstances as pigs. Heck, some pigs are even more clean than some animals. Some animals live in utter filth because of humans. So while I respect their belief, insisting that all pigs are dirty and that all other animals are clean is just silly.

  • @balki1011

    I know the way the person said pork was a dirty food seemed rude, but people who are from the middle east and India do consider pork meat to be unclean. I'm Indian and we don't use pork in any sort of cooking so I understand that sort of mentality. Either way, it doesn't bother me, but I know other people are really disgusted by it.

  • @crazyzee81

    The only acceptable excuses for saying eww pork in my mind are 1 religious views (I think all religions should be respected) and 2 would be someone who has had heart attacks and needs to pysch themselves out of eating delicious pork. But thats just me. I know I have tried some foods where most people in the world would say eww or wtf.

    -.- assumption isn't a bad thing, its human nature to try and predict patterns in everything. but just pointing out, didn't you just assume that I was religious? and you were wrong. Did I just assume you weren't going to answer my question? was I right? yes. That's all my point is, darling.

    For people saying that other animals are just as dirty isn't true though. Pigs eat there own crap. That is why we do not eat them. Pigs also can carry many diseases. Its is written in our religion that we do not eat pig so we don't eat pig. Please do not criticize our religion.

    Dear runny.
    Now I understand what yakisoba is. That looks delicious.
    The packaged one, apple pie flavor that you tasted for new year's was not anywhere near as good for several reasons:
    Shelf stable food is not as good as fresh (see Emmymade videos on rations, or high end shelf stable food).
    The ingredients you use are fresh, and plentiful.
    The sauce you make is complex & well balanced.
    You are used to high quality yakisoba.
    The apple pie spice was too overwhelming; much of it, almost no yakisoba flavors.
    The apple was the only fresh "produce".
    Your cabbage, carrot, garlic, onion were nonesistent-to-inadequate.
    So, taste & texture were badly balanced & unfamiliar
    Thank you for listening
    & bravely trying the apple pie one a few days ago

    you do realize that the religious reasons to not eat pork are thoroughly outdated, right? pork on commercial farms aren't raised in the same conditions as, say, the 10th century. they are fed clean food and given lots of antibiotics. also, it's delicious.

    yakisoba? Soba is the kind of nuddles, like spagetti. I suspect, what runnyrunny999 is mistaking with japanese name for this dish, since he is not using soba noodles...

    Nice Jacket Runnyrunny! This may be a weird question, but do you chew on both sides when you eat? I can't tell.. lol (I think most people eat on one side of their mouth)

    I make yakisoba in two steps:
    1. Add yakisoba noodles to boiling water, then drain noodles
    2. Add yakisoba spice mix and stir.
    Your method is better though. "Guesstimate"

    hi Runny!
    What is your secret to stir frying noodles without having them stick to the pan?
    This always happen to me even if i use oil and a non-stick pan.

    I have a bunch of top ramen, which I hate to eat because it is tasteless, but after watching this video, I'm thinking about using the noodles to make yakisoba.

    RunnyRunny999,
    The people I would want to make this for are allergic to carrots and cabbage. Is there anything I can substitute those vegetables with?
    Thanks.

    try going to an Asian supermarket. they have pre-cut meat in thin slices that are usually used for hot pot but are good if you want really thin slices.
