Hi Kate i have just discovered your UA-cam channel while i was looking up the schroth method I'm a mom if two that had a badly treated double scoliosis since adolescence and now i found myself reaching 60° each at 35 yrs old😢 my only hope now is intensive exercise to try to prevent and protect myself from all the pain this illness is causing me I need to figure out how to get the materials needed then I'll start performing the exercises at home ! Your channel is going to be very helpful to me ,I'm extremely grateful and thank you for the work you do❤
You are very welcome! You can get the equipment from happysew.com. I have a discount code if you’d like! Let me know if you have any specific questions regarding your scoliosis…I’m here to help! If you want to chat feel free to book a free call with me! schrothboss.com
I'm sorry i haven't mentioned I'm from North Africa that's why your videos are so helpful to me ... I don't think there are physical therapists in my country who are licensed in the schroth method that's why im gonna need to do everything on my own 😔
Do you have videos of where to place pads for supine breathing? I have thoracolumbar levoscoliosis, so I place a beanbag wedge under my thoracic prominence, and one under my small lumbar prominence. Then I do the breathing. I think I need to find a Schroth PT. I only saw your breathing video with the umbrella. Thanks for getting back to me. You’re working late.
you are very welcome! I'm happy to help! In general the pads go under the prominences so you are correct! I'd be happy to work with you online for schroth! Email me! Katie@schrothboss.com
There is no promise of the spine correcting or improving with these exercises, the goal is to stop the progression of the scoliosis from getting worse.
can you explain why the strengthening is occurring on the right side? i thought the right side was overdeveloped and needs stretching and the left side is weak and needs strengthening
Hey Ryan! Research now shows that both sides are weak so we need to strengthen both sides. However, in this exercise we are using the right arm to pull down and help traction the arm and put pressure at the right lower shoulder blade- this will help to derotate the right sided thoracic curve. I hope that makes sense!
Yes when you derotate the spine, you also derotate the ribs. The ribs are connected to the spine! Also a lot of positioning with bean bags for supine or sidelying exercise will directly address the rib rotation which creates the rib “prominence”. Does that answer your question?
Hello. My challenge is two severe curves, really close to one another. So when i do this exercise for example or any movement, that corrects one of the two curves, the other is worsening. Do you have some tips how to deal with that. Also, do you have any idea what are the factors, that make a curve rigid. My curves became rigod literally within a month! And it seems there is no going back from that..
How do you do this band exercise if you have thoracolumbar scoliosis convex to the left and small lumbar curve? Is the band position reversed?Thank you
Plz make a video for thoracic left curve scoliosis plz 😢

If these exercises are diligently practiced, what is the time frame of the spine curvature correction/improvement?

Hi Katie, do you have exercises to derotate the ribs? I have a thoracolumbar curve apex to the left.

I would do exercises with a neutral spine and emphasize elongation, not necessarily the curve specific exercises.
By curve did you mean convex to right thoracic or left thorax
Convex to the right!

@@terriliggett544 yes reversed! Right arm high and pulling down/outward with the left (this is called shoulder counter traction).
Scoli :)
