Your leaves are doing like ours and we have 50 for lowes. Chip and seal/surface treatment don't work too good for pavement either. Glad the mower can go S L O W over our maple roots too. GOOD LOOKING JOB and the gravel works fine here and nobody will fork over for blacktop either. Happy Grandparents Weekend and God Bless Yall
Branch County had a smart guy at the DOT. He got tired of having people complain about broken windows. He switched to limestone chips. It crushes down under traffic and just packs down into the tar. No loose stones after the first couple weeks. I have had 3 houses with paved driveways. Mom and Dad never had a paved drive. My first house had concrete. Wasn't any apron to the road just sidewalk and concrete up to the house. My friend Danny Tucker helped me pour an apron for the drive in exchange for me putting a new clutch in his backhoe. Worked out well. I'll tell the clutch story someday. 2nd house was over by Marble Lake. Stabilized gravel when we moved in. My neighbor drove cement truck and told me to get some blasted limestone. It had to be blasted and I wanted it to have the dust in it. I had a load of blasted limestone brought in and shoveled it out on the whole drive. Set up like concrete. Mixed in with the gravel and the rain would get it wet but never muddy. Hired in as Maintenance Manager at UTC. I got money ahead and we had Thompson Excavating come and put down asphalt. He said he didn't need to do a thing to the drive the limestone was flat and hard. Not a rut in it anywhere. Only had to seal it once in the next 7 years. Union City had a LOOONNNGGG driveway. I couldn't afford pavement so I bought the first 8N tractor with a front blade and just graded the dirt. Neighbors hired me to straighten out their drives. I got pretty good at filling ruts. This house had a paved drive. Not great but it was paved. We spent some of Sneelock Inc's money and repaved it. Sneelock paid for the sealer too. Both times. Now that I stopped being a consulting engineer the money is less but I'm enjoying it more.
@@OldSneelock Used to haul from a Vulcan plant in Cleveland TN for limestone for concrete. Made some good stuff. Hauled the rock and the mix. Job security.
Nice job looks like new again! I live on a dirt driveway! I've never had to do that! Now you can get some good rest! We are always praying for you and Lydia 🙏🙏🙏
We paved the drive at our house by Marble Lake. Our house by Union City had a driveway 4 times as long as this one. I always wanted to but short of robbing a bank I'd never be able to afford it.
This looks like a lot of work but, I just re levelled off my interlocking stone driveway and let me tell you, when I was on my knees I would have liked to have just a coat of tar to put on and be done with it for another 10 years or so…..CHEERS
I paid to have it done 4 years ago. It doesn't last that long in Michigan. The stuff I bought has a 4 year warranty. It is much easier than lifting all the blocks and leveling them. My knees wouldn't take it anymore.
You are so lucky you don't live in Oregon trees canr be cut down on your own property without an assessment and done by a certified arborist. I've had many jobs delayed or canceled because a tree was in thr way on property owned by the clients. That's the spirit you had extra way better than not enough. If I need 8 sticks of trim I need 10 ect. I don't see negative comments really ever but in the end their your happy and it's safe the job is done it's fine. Never anything wrong with input on ways to make life easier though and we will keep it that way. Your lucky you have regulars not many channels do. I sure hope one of thoes bar stools has my name on it by now 😆. Keep on trucking 🚚.
At Old Sneelock's Workshop I strive to have a place where it is just like the good old days at Dad's shop. People stopping by just to see what's going on and ending up practically moving in. 😀😎

It was well worth the effort.

Out at the farm we have about 700 feet of asphalt drive, I can offer you 50 cents an hour plus all the baloney sandwiches you can eat.🥪🥪
🥪
Such a deal. I love baloney sandwiches.
At 50 cents an hour it will be about $1,500.00.
I'm very slow. 😀😎
