I don't believe there is a way to change the sensor bar range. There are options for placement relative to the TV and sensitivity, but I don't think either of those change the range of the sensor bar.

Poof, during that vacuum microgame, the console doesn't use the motion controls, it actually uses the *sensor bar.* When the vacuum is blinking, it means that the wiimote does not see the sensor bar. In fact, most microgames use the sensor bar. Also, on the "Plane!" microgame you have to pull your wiimote like you are pulling a rope.

Also, you have to move the remote slowly and carefully for some of the mini games. The point of the game is to be careful while it tries to make you panic.
Some people panic allot even if they know what to do, I've watched my sister play Hollow Knight,which takes really precise movements,and she really found trouble with menacing bosses and just ran into them while tunnel visioning.
