Tony Angelo On the Evolution of Fast Cars and His First Car | Ep. 2 In the Aisles w/ Derek Bieri
Вставка
- Опубліковано 19 лют 2023
- In this installment of “In the Aisles”, Derek from Vice Grip Garage talks to professional drift racer, stunt driver and former Hot Rod Garage host Tony Angelo of the UA-cam series “Stay Tuned”. Hear Tony talk about how he first got interested in drifting (even before it became popular in America), the evolution of “fast” cars in recent decades, and how he came to purchase his first muscle car at the age of fifteen. Also, can too much spray-painting in the shop really “poison” the people next door? Tony has an opinion.

Derek focuses on budget builds, rescues, and how to's for the common folk. From classic cars to tractors Derek has been there and driven it home 600 miles.

WHEN IS THE PUDDIN FAB SHOP VIDEO COMING OUT
these in the aisle chats with Derek are too kool for skool, keep them coming
😊
any amount of tony AND derek is an absolute treat.
So true! O'Reilly knocked it out of the park with this series
@@DankoStojanovic what if autozone paid for this or Walmart. Thoughts?
@@bosco2023 Than autozone would have been smart. O’Reilly beat ‘em to it
@@chloehennessey6813#truth 💯
Derek and Jessica in just a few years have gone from posting funny "Will It Run?" videos shot with a smartphone to multiple programs with a millions subscribers. It's great to see "one of us" becoming successful in our car culture.
Hearing Tony Angelo recount his first time unleashing the Demon, is a true Car Guy story.
As a Man, you just gotta get that "feel"...
We need Tony and Derek teaming up on a build. How cool would that be!
Like a red 66 Fairlane, maybe?
I’m actually loving this series. Derek, you have a fun, easy going style that just draws the listener in and makes them laugh with you. Learned a few things about Tony that really surprised me too. Great job.
You are the best host for a car talk show Derek. This is a awesome series. Thanks to O'REILLY auto parts for having you do this.
I don't know which I'm more excited for the fact that there's a new episode to watch or the fact that hopefully it means there's more down the pipeline
I hope more than once a month episode release...but the biggest question is "How the hell...!.... did you watch this, 4 days earlier then the rest of us ???"
😂 I didn’t know this existed until today. So talk about a nice surprise.
Huh lol
I would of never imagined the kind of friends derek would be making. So damn happy to see his success blossom
It's "would have", or "would've", not "would of". Pet peeve of mine 😉
@JeffKopis you still understood the original comment. Which is the whole goal of communication.
Almost as good as a Howard Stern interview. And that's a huge compliment Derek. Great job.
The more i hear from Tony the more I like him, also good to see Derek in a different light. Actually a very good interview.
This is a neat format. I’ve always liked Derek but now I’ve got new respect for Tony.
I really like Tony, he’s got that old school racer attitude and just seems like a very solid guy. Hope he doesn’t Lose the Shop lol. Waiting on his videos of Sick Week. Love how much fun he has on his show too. Of course the main Feller is just one of a kind and don’t miss anything Derek’s put out !
These chats are awesome! I could listen to Derek chatting cars with anybody 😎
Wow, Derek, Tony Angelo!! The rock star with Finnagan and the Blasphemi!! Love seeing this guy operate.
I like that Tony also interviewed Derrick. Who would have thought that our Derrick could be a talk show host. Good call O'Rielly's. Derrick will give Jay Leno a run for his money.
Spelled Derek.
Would love to see Derek and Tony do more stuff together! Two of the coolest guys in the modern auto scene
Derek has made such a great name for himself over the last fee years. Tony is an awesome presenter as well, his content was some of my favorite on MT. Glad youtube has gotten some of the best content back!
Thank you O'Reilly for sponsoring Derek and VGG. Now put some stores in the Buffalo, NY area!!!!!. O'Reilly's is the only place I shop when I'm in N.Carolina.
I have built 7 O'Reilly stores in 6 states. Every one of them you can see another auto parts store from the parking lot.
I used to live in Ellicottville and then moved to NC... Weird.
@@lazyhoundracing9621 Yep my small town has the big 4 O'reilly, advance auto, autozone and napa. Though they are spaced out here they are not close enough to stare at each other across the parking lot
@@lazyhoundracing9621 Advanced is building a store right across the street from the Napa. Literally, RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET. Makes no sense. But we have no O'Reilly's here either.
@@RichardPotter-dv3dm 2 of them I built had an Advanced literally next door. I had to work with them because we shared a property line and they didn't like me. It's not my fault I'm just the GC.
How about an O’Reilly’s here in good ol Canada 🇨🇦 ? We need one in case Derek decides to come here for a revival 😊
It's only fair, we got Tim Horton's.
you guys have canadian tire. you already won lol.
Tony is the man , great interview. Thanks Derek . This is what a feller needed to watch before work . Cheers 🇨🇦
So cool! Mr. Sams shop, VGG, Tony, excellent 👌
I was thinking it was Sam's shop. Glad I'm not the only one
@@crumpy46511 Especially since Jackstand Jimmy is his neighbor, and his car was sitting right there that Tony pointed at. :)
These two could talk for hours and I´d be watching... absolute legends! Thanks for this episode!
Thank you for this! I've seen Tony from plenty of the shows he's been part of but this was the first time I actually got to know his story. These are entertaining to watch or just listen to.
I love this series already. Tony is one of my favorite internet car guys... right behind Derek, of course!
Two of my favorite guys to watch on the tube! 🤘
Tony and Lucky together were the best presenters/mechanics on that show. I was at the race the two of you were participated in at 'The Freedom Factory', very cool indeed. Thanks guys.
Derek you took the words out of my mouth......That is the heck of a FIRST CAR!!!!!
I never watch podcasts, I watched this whole thing no problem, excellent
Absolutely awesome episode, these two need to do a project together.
So miss Tony on HRG! Such a great guy.
As a car fellar born in 1970 I really appreciate and understand how much these guys love classic simple and fun builds. 😁👍
Can't even express how much I enjoyed this!!! 🧰🗜🇺🇲
This series it's awesome. Great idea! I could listen to these legends round table for hours.
two of my favorites. Thanks for putting it out!
Two of my absolute favorites! Genuine family dudes that love what they do and it shows.
I Love this show! It's just like the old days for me. Working in the garage with someone and swapping stories about cars you worked on. These are the kind of feelings that put a smile on your face and make you realize just how lucky you are to have lived in a time, when we have created a culture of people who have a psssion for mechanics. Some people say that certain people are born with it, but someone had to show you or inspire you to fuel that passion.
Fun conversation, just two likeable guys that love cars.
2 of my favorite youtube hoomans!!! What a treat!!! Man Tony's story about buying the Demon had me smiling! Reminded me of my hot rod story when I was in high-school. My buddy n I saw a 69 gto and we went and looked at it. Turned out it was for sale for 3500.00, this was in 92'. I got my dad and he reluctantly came with me to see it. We drove it and as soon as he got on it he said we're buying this car! This was 31 yrs ago and I still have it today!! Has a nicely built 70 455 n th400 with a 10' continental converter. Such great memories I've had with my gto! My older brother is the mopar guy and had a 71 demon 340 4 speed with 3.91 suregrip, was yellow with black stripes, it was a fun car to drive. He had a 70 challenger rt se 440 with indy heads, plum crazy purple. He sold both yrs ago and he just bought a 71 challenger with a 440 stroked to 500 cubes and a pistol grip 4 speed. It's plum crazy with black stripes and a shaker hood and a spoiler. I've been 2 many pontiac shows and have met most of the pontiac greats, fun times!
I grew up on a small freshwater lake in N. MI. in 1978, Arctic-Cat snowmobiles came out, plowed a huge oval track like 100+ feet wide out on the ice of the lake, and parked out there with everything from motor-homes to cars and pickups. They were out there testing sleds, after a week they packed up and left, but their "track" was still out there. So I went out with a 1973 Olds with a 454 and anti-spin rear-end and proceed to go like 50 MPH sideways around this glorious ice track, what a hoot for a 17 year old.
Just another amazing show... THANK YOU!!!
Two great personalities talking shop. You can't get much better than that. When Tony was talking about the 1st car/Demon it brought me back to mine, ..69 Chevelle SS 396/ 375 HP. Back then in '77 that was ALL you needed. Still is actually, I miss that ride.
Love it.
Tony and Lucky made great content, good to see Tony back making content. Well done Derek.
Two of my favorite car personalities. Cool to see them together
Very cool ! Glad I got to catch that interview!! I really enjoy his work.
Tony has such a good personality...love his vibe
Just getting around to watching all these and am enjoying the format / conversations! Especially want to thank Derek and Tony for sticking up for the lessor powered engine enthusiast! As a 66 year old growing up a small block Chevy and Harley guy my first 300HP was "WOW!" Got no use for 500, 750 or 1000HP..... I'll go to the track on occasion and watch others run those! Then check out a no-prep event with like-minded folks just having fun!
Thanks guys!!!
This was incredible! More! More! Please!
The most dynamic duo !!! Thank you O'Reilly's.
I’m really digging this new show great idea great people keep up the good work
Really enjoy the new format, thanks to you and your guests.
Darned if you're not just popping up all over the place, Derek... And it's always good to see Tony up to stuff...
Tony is very relatable
One of the greatest things I’ve ever seen. Love these interview segments
Two of the best in Car Community, my favorite Tony moment is bench pressing the transmission in Blasphemi.
Thanks guys , that got us thinking, remembering and discussing. Central California watching.
These are really worth watching.
Great rapport with these two, more fun to watch than most interview type shows.
Great interview, great team. These two guys are top notch and down to earth.
Its always great to hear from Derek and his friends. Being a fellow North Dakotan i know what he means about the 4 good months in the summer that you can really enjoy your cars and local shows! I hope to be heading your way to pick up the HemiHalf here in a couple weeks:) GPG
I’m 41 and still drift on the snow covered roads of Pa! Been doing it since I was 16. Such a blast!
I'm enjoying this series! Keep up the good work!
This one on one is the best! So much to be told !
Love the format and style!
You ARE good at this Derek!
This was a very much needed video. I’m in the process of letting go of my first drift build before I could even enjoy it because kid and life. That’s not going to stop me though. I would love to see Derrick get into drifting. Tony is an amazing car enthusiast, I hope to become half the mechanically inclined man he is. Awesome.
Thank you Derek and Tony!! Awesome video y’all
Two of my favorite people. Man this was good. Can you please do more of these Derek? You ask great questions.
Well done, a fun, relaxed conversation... Thanx !
Great interview guys. I could listen to you for hours.
This is quite possibly the best thing I've seen in a long time.
I can 100% relate to the whole driving a slow car fast situation. My car was a low 9sec car. But, it wasn't any fun driving on the street. It was getting to point of being mildly unreliable, almost pointless to drive on the street. Burnouts at will, even rolling along at 70mph on the freeway.
I recently changed it all out to a 5 speed manual, and maybe 450hp. It is waaaay more fun to blast around on back roads. Much more reliable and worry free. I enjoy it more now, than the previous years of it having 800+ hp.
This is great, you to fellas have so much knowledge, it's such a pleasure to listen to you both 👍. I wish you both well. Keep up with the great content 👌
Love the “deep tracks” and insite inspired within the scope of this format. Derek is so natural and real. Gotta say, a feller loved the Chevelle chase in Jack Reacher. Wobbles and Velvet…🇺🇸
That's so cool Tony that you still have your 1st car. I really wish I had mine. It was a 1964 Chevy Impala SS: 327ci/300hp 4 speed trans
If a video pops up with Derek Bieri anywhere in the title, and I'm making some "me time" for the next hour'ish
These are so fun! I got to learn more about both of you guys. I had wondered what happened to the Malibu, that thing was awesome!
I could listen to these 2 all day, would love to see them do a rescue and or build together, it would be great!!!!!
My two favorite car guys. I could listen to these guys tell stories all day. I didn’t realize Derek had a 74 Chevy as his first truck. My first truck was a 74 back in 2000.
Two genuine guys…..loved this interview
Derek hits it again ~ thanks guys !
Wow! This was a great conversation. Love it!
Absolutely love tony angelo he is the best can't believe I didn't see this video
Enjoyed that. Tony's a cool guy and fun to hear a bit more about his background!
Two of my favorite car guys right there. Now what would be fun would be a collaboration/revival video where both fellas can have some fun together. Afterall, both are super funny.
Great interview! Tony’s rendition of getting his first muscle car reminds me of I had and worked on some junkers in high school graduated in 1965 directly into the Marines deployed to Vietnam! Dreamed of purchasing a Dodge Dart 440 wedge or 426 Hemi , too expensive even then! With the money I saved up for 13 months looked for and bought a brand new off the truck 1967 Pontiac Firebird 400! Must have looked at every dealership in Southern California, lived in the San Fernando valley at the time. Found a new Pontiac dealership in Anaheim, near Disney land , the cars were so new that finding a 400 big block was hard to find, one with no power anything was even harder, absolutely no 4 speeds! Every dealership I went to tried to sell me a 6 cylinder 3 or 4 speed! With power everything! Even this dealership in Anaheim! I did not know it at the time but the salesman I was working with was also the owner of the dealership! I told him I did not want anything but a Firebird 400 , 4 Speed on the floor, W/ power nothing! He went through his incoming truck load log and said wait a minute while I check out back. After a few minutes I followed him out back! As I walked up he was driving back with a car covered in cosmo-lien & dust about 1/2” thick he got out came up to me and said this was a silver W/ black vinyl top, Firebird 400 all synchro 3- Speed , hopped back in the car and said watch this , backed the car up about 50 Ft stuck it in first and lit it up smoked the tires back to where I was standing, popped back out of the car and I said “Sold” ! I fell in love with that car from that moment on! I’m sorry I ever sold that car , best car I’ve ever owned! Owned that car for 41 years, painted it 2 times, did 1 valve job, installed a B&M 4 speed , Hydra-matic in it! Blew up 3 of those! Rebuilt the motor put a Muncie 4 speed w/ Hurst shifter, blew the rear end out of it twice! I touched and wrenched on every bolt and screw on that car! The second paint job was a complete restoration! I put 1971-2 fender air extractors in the fenders and a factory trunk spoiler on the trunk lid! Painted it metallic Maroon. Still had the original vinyl roof on it in perfect condition at 41 years old! Got to be some kind of record or something for a Feller!
Regards Mike S. …………….. Derek your blue one reminds me of mine! That’s a great video too!
I loved this episode! The interview with you and Tony reassured me that my eclectic choice of cars isn't really all that strange. Haha.
Can't wait for the next one
Need need need more of these
37:37 ... Derek's reaction was perfect. Anyone who knows Independence knows.
Underrated comment. I felt he was looking directly at us as if to say..."Yep...nope."
Derek and Tony need a show or an episode at least! These guy's are mechanical gurus & entertainment gold.
Solid concept and love the show.. can we get episodes a little faster! But Derek and Tony are great car guys true mechanics! Love to see more
Great content and conversation. Legit dudes
Great job Derek and Tony.......Derek you know I Love VGG and the new show......Tony love Hot Rod Garage and You and and Finnegan too!!!! Appreciate you both!!!
You two are the only ones I didn't get to say hi to on sick week. Keep up the great videos.
Love the show holy tomatoes so much history on one stage, thank you guys.👌🙏❤
Kudo's to the film crew. I just love the cinematic way this was filmed. Very very well done. Thank you.
