A suggestion! Very sorry to hear that your main gig has been canceled. Just wanted to give you some suggestions for content. I love the stuff you do with Steve like the motor swaps in the old Mopar‘s and also things like rescuing the white barracuda from the junkyard. Getting old things running again and just doing things that the average guy can do without spending a lot of money really makes the channel enjoyable. It also would help keep your budget low. Truly missed your knowledge on my screen. Between being a broke 20 something then married life and kids I never got around to watching motor trend. Roadkill on UA-cam was a major part of my love of hot rodding and cars in general. Thank you for coming back to UA-cam and putting out great content, really feels like the old days that got me hooked many years ago.
I got into shop class 10 years ago in high school because I started watching roadkill and wanted to know how to work on cars. Our shop teacher bravely volunteered his 86 D100 for us to learn on and it became my "dream truck". 😅 Fast forward I bought my dream truck right when Roadkill got shut down, it's bittersweet but I wouldn't be where I am without you guys. Glad you're still uploading. Take care 👍
Love seeing you and all the crew again. Looks like you’re doing okay and honestly, seems more free and loose “ to do you “ and really find myself looking forward to new content.
I am sorry Motor Trend ended their shows, particularly yours, but now having this amazing content is a genuine gift. Thank you for all you have shared with us over the years and especially for this amazingly wonderful content. Thank you David.
Freiburger, I've been a fan since the beginning of RoadKill. I know you'll be successful on your own, and I, as many other fans are here to support. Can't wait to see what you have in store for us!
When the news broke that Roadkill and company were done, it was like a death in the family. Seeing the yootoob channels pop up for you and Dulcich, as well as Cotten and everyone, means that Roadkill will never die. Thanks Freiburger!
So to add to the fans saying you inspired them... for me i had an operation back when roadkill 1st went on youtube so i just laid in bed and watched the first like 4 episode non stop and i feel cool that i was the one out of my friends to spread the word of "roadkill" back then i was the guy always driving round in junky primer stuff and the only thing people could call it is 'rat' but i knew that werent right... whenever i painted something i lost interest and sold it. Now i know i was just into beaters and original paint, that meme of general mayhem and also a fully painted one where it said 'rather this.. than this' is just my mind!!! Thankyou for all youve done and i cant wait for the future of this channel ❤
Ya know David, with your vast knowledge of many things and not to mention friend's plus gift of Gabbyness ,its a natural next step.your future is bright.
My favorite episodes are the ones about the history of hot rodding and all the history about racing whether it’s the dry lakes or drag strips. Glad that you’re sharing your wealth of knowledge about all of it
18:12 I hear ya, it’s relentless feeding the YT machine, if you can, try to build up at least 2 unlisted videos that aren’t published so that when life gets in the way you can just publish them from anywhere. If nothing else, it’s good for your mental health to know they are there.
Thanks, David for the video and your efforts in making the transition from TV to Utube. You have helped bridge gaps in generations in all things automotive through the many projects you have done. I have watched you for years and appreciate all that you have done. I wish you all the success in your future efforts and hope to see you not only on UTUBE but TV as well. You are truly a genuine individual who loves what he does. I'll miss Engine Masters as well and all the guys who have had the pleasure of working with you. Drive on David, drive on.
I have been a roadkill fan for a decade... It's my favorite car show ever. That being said, I think creatively, and im sure David would agree with me. Roadkill ending is probably a good thing. Cause now, you have complete creative freedom, and you can do whatever you want, go where you want, and keep or sell what you want. Btw, I'm the guy who bought the dad rod from John Mills. He was stoked to see a roadkill sticker on my truck. Sorry about my grammar. Not all of us are professional magazine writers hahahaha..
Thank you for continuing on despite RK being shit down. You are a true die hard hot rod guy who has reminded the world that you don’t have to have a fancy car to have fun. But more importantly we just need to have fun. Thank you
As someone who does video editing and production for a living I can understand coming up with regular content is a challenge. I think making videos like this is a good idea as a way to fill in those odd gaps in time between other videos. Also, I have noted that other channels "bank" videos or footage just for the holidays. Believe it or not there are those of us who look for stuff to watch on our time off and can appreciate some longer form videos. The Key West Jeep trip with Rick was a good one for holiday viewing. Long or short, it's all good stuff! Thanks Freiburger.
It is so great how much you live love and own this hobby! If it weren't for you and people like you the automotive hobby and hot rodding would not be where it is today. As you pay tribute to Legends of the past, Please understand that to many of us you are one of the current legends. I truly appreciate the life you have lived up to this point and am excited to see what your creativity and dedication is going to bring us in the future! R O A D K I L L
The name David Freiburger became a household name for me in the early 90's in all of the mags (during study hall mostly) so it was natural for me to follow you in all of your show endeavors as well. Everything you are a part of and the people, places, and events is nothing short of genius and I'm super stoked to follow you in this adventure too!! Long live Roadkill!! Viva la Frieburger!
My wife doesn’t understand the cathartic nature of my garage workshop. I go there to work on projects or to look at my collection of junk, clutter and tools, each with an interesting story. It balances Me and just fing makes me happy. Keep up the good work.
You and your ole man look alot alike.... Enjoy him while he's here. My dad unfortunately passed away 12 years ago at the early age of 64, and I hadn't spent enough time with him yet, and that is the biggest regret of my life so far. Yes, I well know that life gets real busy these days, but ALWAYS make time for your family... You'll GREATLY miss them when they're gone, and WISH that you did make more time.
Dave, I'm a huge Roadkill fan and all it spawned. Thanks for being real, sharing your thoughts, and continuing to create content. I wish you all the best in the days forward. I hope you're able to continue to make content for me to enjoy but ultimately, I hope you're able to continue to do what is right for you.
I have so much respect for anyone who can wrench on an old car and make it run! My respect and admiration for Freiburger extremely grew when he and Finnegan went into a junkyard on the Roadkill show and got that old 50's truck running from being there for decades, mad respect for you Freiburger!!!
Proof that you're working your tail off to deliver your own content. Keep at it man! It probably won't get any easier, but you're building a legacy that you own.
This is where your magazine editor experience is going to really shine. Planning those videos out and pacing yourself is really going to prevent you from burning out or feeling too overwhelmed. Wishing you the best, we will be watching!
I swear this newer content brings me back to the way back days of watching roadkill when I was in high school by this point. You guys deserve to make content without total and complete corporate restriction.
It sucks about the shows. But you know what Frieburger all of you and your buddies are so popular that you guys will all be huge on UA-cam. I hope to see you guys still working together on projects when possible! A buddy of mine got me watching the shows about 6 years ago and I've been an avid fan ever since, not to mention all the things I've learned from all of you! Keep up the GREAT Work!
You and Finnegan made Roadkill. Yes, Dulcech and others made appearances but, it just wasn't the same dynamic. The sheer fact that the Motortrend cable channel is still running those episodes is kind of goading. You keep being you David, and we will keep watching your stuff.
Glad to see you making these videos David! This is the content we all need without the bullshit of motortrend production. Just a guy with cool vehicles and interesting stories! Keep up the good work!
You're gonna do fine with this channel, because you're willing to put in the work---that's why you've always been successful, and that's why this channel is going to get big
Loved the Pomona history video. Spent many hours in those stands with my dad. Such a treat to learn about its history and remember the great times. Thank you, Freiburger.
David I really like how you see the "Americana" with eyes that appreciate the little things that technology has most of us ignoring. Wish the best and I'll keep following!
Change is good! I like this content, ill hang for awhile! I cant imagine how hard it is to do this video stuff I think about while im working on projects. Merry Christmas.
In a weird way, this is kind of a bonus for all us who have watched you guys (and read your magazines since we were kids), where Dave F, Dave C, Lucky, Tony, and Dulcich all have their UA-cam presence. Looking forward to a variety of stuff! (That Jeep trip was awesome). I also love the visits to the old air fields you did. Not just entertaining, but great historical info we don't get anywhere else. In the famous words of Isaac : "It'll be fine".
After growing up with Hot Rod Magazine, and reading all about California, I’m finding your videos are an excellent continuation of that. I’ve been to LA a few times and just absorb all the history, and experience some of the places I only dreamed about.
Loving the new videos! This day in the life stuff was interesting as well. Been watching you for 13 years and am excited to see what your own content brings! Thanks for all of the information and entertainment over the years!
I never thought I'd be happy that Roadkill got cancelled, but between the content Freiburger posts here, and the great vids Dulcich and Wiley are doing over on Steve Dulcich's channel, I don't mind at all that Roadkill is over. This new stuff is great!!
Ive been a fan since the 90s. Bought pretty much every magazine you wrote for/edited for all those years. Watched early roadkill shows but it got to the point where even if I paid I couldn’t watch roadkill easily so I let my motortrend subscription lapse. While I no longer have the desire to work on my own project cars anymore I love that you are on UA-cam and especially love the ded episodes with Pewe. Keep doing what you are doing, it’s gold

I'm glad you are here!
Freiburger, I've been a fan since the beginning of RoadKill. I know you'll be successful on your own, and I, as many other fans are here to support. Can't wait to see what you have in store for us!
I love your history videos, too. That one on the drag strip was great! Keep em coming, brother.
Got my Shirt. Fits good. Good quality. Dig the emblem on the back. Bonus!
Ya know David, with your vast knowledge of many things and not to mention friend's plus gift of Gabbyness ,its a natural next step.your future is bright.
Onwards and upwards Freiburger!
I will always support you Freiburger! As a long time fan of shows and such! I was a teen watching y’all. Keep it up. You inspire a lot of us!
Hey happy to see your comment to us your fan’s
I appreciate you!
Thanks very much for the support
Thank you
Fantastic video! Chevraloo.
Hi David! Grateful for the years of RK and RKG goodness. Thanks for continuing to share life and the hobby with us!
I could watch this stuff all day long. Cool to see Freiburger Senior! I would say “Willy’s” just like everyone already does.

Thanks!
Appreciate that! Yeah, it’s a hustle
Man! What a good ep...lots of Freiburger lore. I'm in!
This is where your magazine editor experience is going to really shine. Planning those videos out and pacing yourself is really going to prevent you from burning out or feeling too overwhelmed. Wishing you the best, we will be watching!
Rockn' the web with D/F... Let the good time roll !!
Boom
I swear this newer content brings me back to the way back days of watching roadkill when I was in high school by this point. You guys deserve to make content without total and complete corporate restriction.
Yea, but that Corporate money and those sponsorship deals were worth A LOT of money.
Bet me, he would go back if he could.
What a great life he had!!! He did so much for the hotrod community!!! Wish we could all be so lucky. My prayers are for you brothers in hotrods!!!
Dave I think motor trend freeing you guys has been the blessing we all needed!!
As always, David Frieburger delivers awesome content. Thank you for keeping on.
Loved the Pomona history video. Spent many hours in those stands with my dad. Such a treat to learn about its history and remember the great times. Thank you, Freiburger.
The pressure for weekly content is a race to the bottom.
We already like you and enjoy our time together.
Enjoyed seeing behind the scenes. Your dad, and hearing about you spending time with your kid. Keep em coming.
Working on it, thank you
David I really like how you see the "Americana" with eyes that appreciate the little things that technology has most of us ignoring. Wish the best and I'll keep following!
Change is good! I like this content, ill hang for awhile! I cant imagine how hard it is to do this video stuff I think about while im working on projects. Merry Christmas.
Thanks for hanging
It was fun to see you helping your dad. I'd like to see more of that content. Shorter duration projects. With your dad. Very cool.
Tuggy!!!!! So cute! Thanks for posting again! Cool to get to know you better 😁
Tug says hi
@TheDavidFreiburger Hi Tuggy! 👋😄
Love it. Fredburger is just like us, wipers don’t work, too many projects, not enough time. Carry on my wayward son.
All that.
We watch these shows because of you. We your fans love you. I'm sure anything you do will be blessed.
In my opinion, Dave has the best T shirt designs of any UA-cam channel
Me too. Haha. Thank you
I never thought I'd be happy that Roadkill got cancelled, but between the content Freiburger posts here, and the great vids Dulcich and Wiley are doing over on Steve Dulcich's channel, I don't mind at all that Roadkill is over.
I really appreciate your support through the years, including now
