I shoot the Mamiya RB67 Pro SD system with both 6x7 and 6x8 backs, as well as my Hasselblads, 503CW and 500ELM. Different systems, different formats each have their own way of influencing my approach to a shoot. In the same way that your choice of film does. All pre-shoot choices that have an impact on the process and the end result.
    I love both systems.

Great video! I just wanted to say, with the Pentax and Hasselblad, it makes a lot of difference in user experience with different focusing screens. Pentax 67 comes in two different oem screens, either centered microprism or gridded matte. There are aftermarket screens available too. The focusing screens for hassy are plenty. The 42215 screen is probably the most expensive. A lot of people like the 42250 screen over the stock one. It’s difficult to enjoy the camera when it’s hard to focus accurately. I had struggled a long time with focusing until I found the right screen and lens combination for me.

My Lady is a home health aid, she came across some medium format camera's in the building she work in. A lot of stuff goes into lost and found when a client passes away and the family or someone doesn't claim the belongings. She called and asked if I wanted them. I was like heck yeah and I asked is there a brand name on them. Me hoping she was going to say Hasselblad or something top end. She didn't know how to pronounce so she spelled it out Yashica. I was like yeah I'll talk them both. So a few days past my birthday was coming up and I was heading down to see her , she told me she threw out one of the cameras it was disgusting , it had roach droppings in it but the other one was fine. (Really)? Anyway the other camera was a Yashica-D in the original leather case with lens cap. When i got back home checked for fungus did a quick clean up with some lighter fluid on the shutter release and timer everything works took it out shot a roll of 120 Fujifilm 400H , waiting now for the prints, I opt to have it scan to digital but send me the negatives.

In my mind there's no contest. The Pentax 67 has a focal plane shutter so you can adapt any kind of lens to it and experiment with many exotic systems. The leaf shutter lenses in the Hasselblad 500CM have other use cases they are great for. I wish there was a camera with a similar ergonomic layout as the Hasselblad, but with a focal plane shutter... that doesn't have the price tag of a Hasselblad 2000 series camera :D

    - Interchangeble film backs
    - Leaf shutter lens, making strobe work easier (not something I do everyday, though)
    - Smaller. I also like 6x6 (some may not like it, considering it felt unnatural/forced)
Well, I also like the Pentax 67, and can see myself heavily using it *if* I were a portrait photographer. Sadly SLR bigger than 6x6 is pain in the a** for travelling.

These are two cameras that I grew up with. The Pentax is almost unusable handheld due to the mirror slap. Nice idea. Wrong execution.

I highly disagree with you. I’ve taking ALL of my photos handheld with my Pentax. They came out just fine

If the photographer were good then both are brilliant cameras, otherwise they are as shite as the photographers, like 90% of the Y.T guys, excluding yourself of course.
