  • In this video, we raise and attach 13 metal roofing panels, each 32 feet long and 3 feet wide. To speed things up, we attached them to the roof sheathing just enough to keep them in place while we got them all positioned. I'll go back after we get them all on and add the rest of the necessary fasteners. Everything you see here was done in one day by two people. Pretty good progress for one day, I'd say!
    Check back soon to see the trim installed and how everything looks completed!

    This looks like when I was in Tuasan AZ & the mountain range was in the distance.. I went to an Indian medicine man outside Tuasan & many people were there @ the church that stood nearby & tourists flicked all over it.. can't remember but, it was a holy site & typical Southwestern stucco church, blah blah.. gosh, I wish I could remember that church?!.. dammit what's the name of that church?.. it was a ways outside Tuasan & I think headed south.. & it was on the left hand side of road goin' south.. of course it looks like desert all around.. occasional cactus.. & tumbleweed crossings 🚸

    Those were long panels! Been following and really enjoy and appreciate all your videos. Can I ask about your permitting choice? Did you go with the opt out? I live close and want to build a few practice buildings before my strawbale house. Your shed and carport were great starter buildings. Did you have to permit those?

    • @MidlifePrices
      @MidlifePrices  2 роки тому +1

      Yes, we went with the owner/builder opt-out, and we received a permit for each structure that we wanted to build (including a permit making it legal to live in the RV!). The shed and carport were permitted and have been completed and inspected. The "inspection" was SUPER easy!

    for your goodbye shot on your vids, maybe you guys can have a beginning pic of your land with no other structures, then a pan over with what is currently there

      Slow and steady! William was totally comfortable with this, but I was nervous the whole time. The rope/dragging method worked really well.

      Love the use of the ladders backwards so the panels could slide up. I'm going to remember that.

    • @MidlifePrices

      @@mattwhiting3175 Totally the way to go! William used to be a roofer, and he was A LOT of help with this!

  • @2MorMor

    so WHY cut the roof panel,?,, couldn't you just overlap it?

    • @MidlifePrices
      @MidlifePrices  10 місяців тому

      I think it was necessary because of the way the ridges are laid out. I don't think you can just add extra overlap on the last panel. Ridges won't line up.
